Protecting your valuable audio equipment from power inconsistencies is crucial to maintaining performance and longevity. The McIntosh MPC500 Power Controller offers comprehensive surge protection, ensuring your system remains safe from electrical disturbances.
Features
- Advanced Surge Protection
- Secondary Surge Defense for Low Voltage Devices
- Over/Under Voltage Protection
- Customizable Receptacle Control
- Real-Time Monitoring & Display
Comprehensive Surge Protection
The MPC500 safeguards your equipment against power line surges, such as those caused by lightning strikes, using a thermally protected metal-oxide varistor (TPMOV) for Line to Neutral protection. This advanced technology is safer than traditional MOVs, providing robust defense for your audio components.
Secondary Surge Defense
Beyond primary surge protection, the MPC500 shields low voltage devices from secondary surges and spikes that can occur after the initial event. It employs Gas Discharge Tubes (GDT), Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) thermistors, and Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) components to protect your ethernet, coaxial, and other low voltage connections.
Voltage Monitoring and Control
Equipped with electromagnetic interference (EMI) filtering and over/under voltage protection, the MPC500 monitors your AC line. If voltage levels deviate from safe parameters, it automatically switches off the rear receptacles, preventing your connected devices from operating under harmful conditions.
Customizable Power Management
The MPC500 features either 8 Type B (NEMA 5-15R) or 4 Type F (CEE 7/3 or "Schuko") receptacles, depending on regional compatibility. You can configure the control of each receptacle to suit your preferences via the rear panel Power Control ports or through the front panel setup menus, offering tailored power management for your system.
User-Friendly Interface
The front panel display provides real-time information, including input voltage, current draw through the receptacles, and total apparent power. This transparency allows you to monitor your system's power status easily, ensuring optimal performance.
Elegant Design
True to McIntosh's aesthetic, the MPC500 boasts a black glass front panel, illuminated logo, control knobs, and aluminum end caps. This timeless design complements any audio setup, combining functionality with elegance.
