Legendary McIntosh Quality
The McIntosh MHT300 Home Theater Receiver embodies the brand’s commitment to delivering unparalleled audio and video performance. Known for their meticulous build quality, McIntosh has designed the MHT300 to be a powerful and versatile addition to any high-end home theater setup. With 150 watts per channel into 4 Ohms, this receiver ensures that every speaker in your system is powered consistently, creating an immersive and balanced sound experience.
HDMI Features and A/V Switching
Equipped with the latest HDMI technology, the MHT300 features four HDMI inputs and one output, supporting 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz video. This ensures compatibility with the most advanced video formats available today, including Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HLG. The MHT300’s ability to support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X further enhances its cinematic capabilities, delivering a dynamic and enveloping soundstage that brings movies to life. Additionally, with HDCP 2.3 technology, this receiver will be compatible with Ultra HD TVs and sources.
Power Output
Like all McIntosh products, the MHT300’s amplification is very conservatively rated. MHT300’s power is rated with all 7 channels driven across the whole audio spectrum of 20 to 20kHzK, whereas most AV receiver brands rate with just 2 channels driven. The true power output in most AVRs drops quickly if you drive additional channels – which means every time you’re watching and listening to a movie.
The MHT300 outputs 120 watts per channel into each of its 7 channels into 8-ohm loudspeakers, and 150 watts per channel into 4-ohm speakers. So it’s well-suited for even the most power-hungry speaker setup. Unlike many surround receivers, MHT300 has no issue powering 4-ohm loads.
Processing Features:
There are 7 premium 32-bit digital audio converters on board, so think of this as 7 channels, each individually powered and processing at the same time. Dolby and DTS surround sound decoding, plus Dolby Atmos and DTS:X processing for height or ceiling speakers provide a cinema-like sound image. And, for a really three-dimensional effect with no height speakers installed, Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization and DTS Virtual:X are also on board.
Dirac Live Room Correction and Customization
Many folks don’t realize the huge influence that sonic reflections in your room can have on the sound you hear. Dirac Live room correction software and a calibrated microphone are standard with MHT300. The inclusion of Dirac Live Room Correction in the MHT300 allows users to optimize their audio experience by tailoring the sound to the unique acoustics of their room. This feature ensures that your home theater delivers crystal-clear dialogue, rich mids, and impactful bass, all calibrated to perfection. Run the Dirac software on your laptop, and Dirac analyzes sonic problems in your room, and then automatically applies a custom, personalized EQ curve for you. With Dirac Live, listeners usually note better clarity in the midrange and highs, and less-muddy bass that has more impact.
With its 3U rack-mountable design and certifications for Control4 and Crestron Home, the MHT300 is a perfect fit for custom installations.
Other Things To Consider
The MHT300 includes two discrete subwoofer outputs, which can also be used for connecting legacy components, two TOSLINK optical connections, and two coaxial digital audio inputs.
If you want to add even more power, there are 11.2 channel RCA preamp outputs so you can add external amps. You may consider this for a large pair of left and right speakers or if you want to expand to a 7.2.4 channel system.
If you want to add a turntable, you will need a phono preamp, as there is no built-in phono input.
McIntosh Dependability
McIntosh is synonymous with reliability and lasting value. The MHT300 is built with patented technologies like PowerGuard and Sentry Monitor, which protect your speakers and ensure the longevity of your equipment. These features, combined with the legendary McIntosh build quality, mean that the MHT300 is not only a smart investment for today but a component that will hold its value and performance for years to come.
The Ultimate Home Theater Experience
The McIntosh MHT300 Home Theater Receiver is designed for those who demand the best in audio and video performance. Whether you’re integrating it into a custom-installed system or showcasing it in your home, this receiver delivers on all fronts, offering a premium one-box solution that meets the highest standards of McIntosh. With its iconic design and cutting-edge features, the MHT300 is the ultimate centerpiece for any high-performance home theater setup.
