Sound Performance
The Control® 29AV-1 delivers improved voicing for extremely flat, high-fidelity sound with extended bandwidth. Its well-controlled coverage helps maintain consistent sound quality throughout the listening area.
Flexible Orientation
A rotatable high-frequency horn allows the speaker to be installed either vertically or horizontally while maintaining proper coverage.
Video Monitor Compatibility
Moderate magnetic shielding allows the speaker to be placed as close as 230 mm, or 9 inches, from video monitors.
System Compatibility
The built-in high-quality line distribution transformer is designed for minimal insertion loss and reduced saturation. It supports both 70V and 100V distributed speaker lines. In bypass mode, the speaker operates at 8 ohms, allowing multiple speakers to be used on a loudspeaker line.
Mounting & Installation
The included InvisiBall mounting system is simple to install, easy to aim, and provides a high level of theft deterrence. It allows horizontal rotation up to 41° off-axis and vertical rotation up to 36° with the horn end inward, or 23° with the woofer end inward.
Optional Mounting Accessories
Attachment points are included for the optional MTC-29UB U-bracket, allowing for a compact installation option.
Weather Resistance
The speaker is built for maximum weather resistance. The woofer uses a Kevlar cone, pure butyl rubber surround, and a rear-loaded driver basket to reduce direct exposure. The compression driver features a pure titanium diaphragm.
Protective Components
The grille is thermoset composite coated and includes foam to help reduce water intrusion. Nickel/zinc rust-resistant terminals provide a secure input connection, and the included MTC-PC2 sealed-entrance cover further protects the speaker terminals.

JBL’s SonicGuard overload protection is virtually inaudible while helping protect the speaker and preserve full-fidelity sound.
