Reference Monitor
Shape Twin combines two Flax cone woofers, an aluminum-magnesium M-shaped tweeter, three Class AB amplifiers, and two 21 cm passive radiators. This configuration provides a precise, expansive stereo image suitable for professional studio monitoring.
Compact Design
The compact 2.5-way D'Appolito configuration provides controlled bass and low-midrange reproduction in smaller listening environments. Shape Twin is designed to deliver its full performance from a listening distance of 1 m.
Functional
XLR and RCA inputs provide connection flexibility. Adjustable bass and treble controls, a 160 Hz midrange adjustment, and a selectable high-pass filter allow the monitor to accommodate different acoustic environments.
Style & Discretion
The MDF cabinet features real walnut veneer for a refined appearance. Its compact construction and integrated mounting inserts provide installation flexibility while maintaining a discreet studio presence.
Accessories
Mounting inserts on the back and underside of Shape monitors support installation on table stands, microphone stands, ceilings, and walls. Mounting accessories are sold separately.
Passive Radiator
A passive radiator enclosure uses an unpowered diaphragm instead of a conventional bass port. This arrangement extends low-frequency performance and provides effective power handling without requiring a larger cabinet.
Flax Membrane
Focal's patented Flax cone construction sandwiches French flax fibers between two fiberglass layers. The combination provides lightness, rigidity, and damping characteristics that contribute to natural, neutral sound reproduction.
NIC Technology
Neutral Inductance Circuit (NIC) technology uses an optimized Faraday ring to maintain magnetic-field stability. This helps improve precision and control in the driver's sound reproduction.
