The beyerdynamic M 130 is a handcrafted dynamic double-ribbon microphone designed for stereo, room and instrument recordings. Its figure-eight polar pattern provides excellent rejection of sound from the sides, while a 40Hz–18kHz frequency response delivers warm, precise and natural reproduction. Lightweight aluminum ribbons ensure excellent transient response, making the M 130 ideal for detailed professional recording.

Ribbon Sound for A Variety Of Sources
The M 130 captures warm, natural sound across a wide 40Hz–18kHz frequency range. Its lightweight dual aluminum ribbons deliver excellent transient response, making it suitable for drums, guitars, pianos, orchestras, choirs and room ambience recordings.
A Microphone with Ambience
The M 130's figure-eight polar pattern makes it ideal for stereo and ambient recording. Two M 130 microphones can form a Blumlein stereo pair, while combining it with a hypercardioid or supercardioid microphone, such as the M 160 or MC 950, allows M/S stereo recording.
A Closer Look: The Figure-Eight Polar Pattern
The M 130 captures sound equally from the front and rear while rejecting signals arriving from the sides at 90° and 270°. Its true figure-eight ribbon design provides excellent off-axis behaviour and stable frequency response.
A Compact Sound Sensation
Measuring just 5.04 inches long, the M 130 is compact and easy to position. Its robust construction makes it suitable for professional studio use, while a sturdy hard case provides protection during storage and transportation.
Handmade In Germany Since 1957
The M 130 is handcrafted in Heilbronn, Germany, using two ultra-thin pure aluminium ribbons measuring just 0.003mm thick, separated by only 0.5mm. Handmade acoustic components, including its triple-layer microphone grille, reflect beyerdynamic's precision manufacturing.
Individual Measurement Curve
Each M 130 is individually measured during production to ensure consistent acoustic performance. A printed measurement curve is included with the microphone.
Durable Materials
The M 130 features durable brass construction designed for professional daily use. Its serviceable design allows many individual components to be replaced if damaged.
