Power & Amplification
At the heart of the X-i1100 lies a massive 700 VA toroidal transformer and 60,000 µF of filtering capacity, ensuring stable current delivery and dynamic headroom. It produces 220 watts per channel into 8 ohms and up to 400 watts per channel into 4 ohms, allowing it to drive virtually any loudspeaker with authority. The amplifier section employs a triple push-pull configuration using high-current bipolar transistors (NJW0281G/NJW0302G), guaranteeing low distortion and excellent transient response. This discrete, high-current topology gives the amplifier a lively, precise character without sacrificing warmth.
Digital & Analog Versatility
The X-i1100 features both analog and digital connectivity, making it a true hybrid hub for modern systems. Its internal Burr-Brown PCM1796 DAC supports 24-bit/192 kHz playback, while dual digital stream processors (XMOS and Cirrus Logic) ensure high-quality conversion and low jitter. Connectivity includes USB, AES/EBU, optical, and coaxial digital inputs, plus multiple analog line inputs such as CD, tuner, auxiliary, and an MM phono stage for turntables. A pre-out and amp-in loop allow system expansion or integration with external processors and amplifiers.
Design & Construction
True to Advance Paris tradition, the X-i1100 exhibits exceptional build quality and a timeless aesthetic. The chassis is divided into five independent, galvanically isolated sections, minimizing electrical interference between power, digital, and analog circuits. Its robust steel frame is complemented by aluminum side panels and a perforated top plate for effective heat dissipation. The front panel features elegant VU meters, backlit in classic blue, evoking the heritage of vintage hi-fi gear while maintaining modern appeal.
Performance & Sound Character
Sonically, the X-i1100 delivers both power and refinement. With a frequency response from 10 Hz to 70 kHz, THD under 0.025%, and a signal-to-noise ratio above 102 dB, it reproduces music with clarity, dynamics, and a natural tonal balance. Listeners often describe its presentation as muscular yet musical—capable of commanding bass control while maintaining open midrange detail and extended treble. Whether paired with vinyl, CD, or high-resolution digital sources, it maintains a coherent and engaging soundstage.
