About This Porsche 911 Audio Upgrade

That’s exactly what Focal Mobile set out to achieve with their P60 Limited Edition Kit. Designed exclusively for select Porsche models, this speaker system delivers audiophile-grade performance while maintaining a seamless, factory-like fit. With cutting-edge materials like ROHACELL foam cones and beryllium tweeters, this kit is engineered to push the limits of in-car sound reproduction. What’s Inside the Box? 

Inside the box is what we refer to as a front stage upgrade. That means these speakers are designed to replace the primary speakers in the vehicle—everything in the doors and dash. 

The kit includes: 

• Two large 8-inch mid-bass drivers that sit in the bottom part of the front doors.
• A pair of 3-inch midrange drivers that sit very close to the 8-inch mid-bass drivers in the doors.
• A pair of 1-inch beryllium tweeters for the top dash locations.
• A center-channel midrange driver to replace the factory center speaker in the dash. 

Each speaker comes with factory-matched plugs that connect directly to the vehicle’s speaker harness—no splicing required. They are designed for a drop-in installation. 

Speaker Technology & Materials 

The mid-bass and midrange drivers use the same type of ROHACELL material for their cones. ROHACELL is a structural foam that is extremely lightweight and provides excellent musical accuracy in both midrange and mid-bass reproduction. Its unique composition allows for rapid response to subtle audio nuances, ensuring that every detail in the music is reproduced with clarity and precision.  

Unlike heavier materials that can introduce distortion or sluggishness, ROHACELL maintains a perfect balance of rigidity and flexibility, allowing for deep, punchy bass and articulate midrange tones. This means vocals, instruments, and dynamic shifts in the music come through with exceptional realism, making for a truly immersive listening experience. 

Focal opted to use beryllium tweeters because beryllium is an incredibly light material—similar to the woofer and midrange cones. This results in exceptional musical accuracy. Unlike inferior materials that can color the sound, beryllium tweeters deliver pure, uncolored audio. They also extend up to 40,000 Hz, well beyond human hearing, but still significantly impact the overall sound quality. Beryllium is one of the finest tweeter materials available. 

Installation & Compatibility 

This kit is designed to run with aftermarket amplifiers. It does not include any crossovers—components that direct specific frequencies to the appropriate drivers. Because of this, we had to think outside the box and use amplifiers with built-in DSP technology to properly divide the audio signal for optimal performance. 

This particular kit is going into a newer Porsche Carrera T. Carrera T models are known for not having a premium sound system—no Bose, no Burmester—nothing. The owner heard about this kit, loved it, and knew it would be the perfect upgrade for a car that never came with premium audio.
