A Night of Live Jazz & Yamaha's Self-Playing Piano

|

Every day, we create incredible experiences for customers who walk into our showrooms: experiences that suspend their disbelief, and bring them right on stage with their favorite musicians. But for one extra special evening in February, we had a chance to host a live music event at our Montgomeryville, PA store.

Dozens of delighted attendees came out to see Yamaha’s self-playing Disklavier piano and listen to Jazz & Blues covers performed by local legend and lead vocalist of “The Dukes of Destiny,” Arlyn Wolters.

Though the Yamaha Disklavier piano was the big attraction, in the end, everyone came and stayed for the music.

The always wonderful Arlyn mesmerized the mixed crowd, singing to a pre-recorded keystroke accompaniment by Philly’s own Reverend Chris Marsceill.

And the Disklavier piano, well, what makes it so special is that only the keystrokes were pre-recorded — the piano itself plays those keystrokes live. A hit at CES 2017 and 2018, the Disklavier Enspire perfectly replicates performances by piano greats like Elton John, Sarah McLachlan, and Frederic Chiu. The piano, which was provided by Cunningham Piano Company, connects to MusicCast, Yamaha's line of wireless multi-room audio products. MusicCast products like speakers, receivers, sound bars, and amps, connect to your home's Wi-Fi to deliver rich, quality audio however and wherever you want it — whether you're watching the latest award-winning flick in the family room or playing a song throughout the entire house. Attendees experienced the Disklavier and Yamaha MusicCast speaker working together in concert —and a lucky guest won a speaker to take home.

Between Arlyn’s sets, Cunningham Piano’s Hugh Sung surprised everyone with his extraordinary piano playing and a very moving presentation, which was all about the Music.

We want to thank Yamaha, Izenberg’s Catering who did their usual outstanding job, and local Bishop’s Estate Vineyard and Winery, who provided an excellent selection of wines. And of course, thank you to our guests for a lovely evening!
