On July 23rd, music history came alive at our Montgomeryville flagship showroom as we hosted the exclusive North American debut of the Bowers & Wilkins 801 Abbey Road Limited Edition loudspeakers. With only 140 pairs available worldwide — and a $70,000 price tag — these ultra-rare masterpieces represent the pinnacle of a 45-year partnership between Bowers & Wilkins and the legendary Abbey Road Studios.

From the moment guests arrived, the energy was electric. This wasn’t just another product launch — it was a celebration of engineering excellence, musical heritage, and the joy of listening.

The Star of the Night: 801 Abbey Road Limited Edition

Built on the acclaimed 801 D4 Signature platform, each speaker tells a story through its meticulous design:
  • Vintage Walnut Finish evoking the warmth of Abbey Road Studios’ historic rooms and classic instruments.
  • Rich Red Connolly Leather Accents inspired by the furnishings of Studio Two, where The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and countless icons recorded.
  • Archival Collector’s Book featuring rare photography and the full history of the Bowers & Wilkins–Abbey Road partnership.
In our acoustically-optimized listening rooms, the 801s were paired with the Marantz Model 10 Reference System, creating a soundstage that transported guests straight into the legendary studios where so many of the tracks were originally recorded. From the lush orchestration of the Indiana Jones theme to rock classics and hidden gems, the speakers delivered some of the crispest, most lifelike audio our showroom has ever hosted. Guests were even treated to a side-by-side look at the original 801 — the model that began Bowers & Wilkins’ partnership with Abbey Road — displayed right next to the sleek 2025 Limited Edition.

Expanding the Experience

The evening offered more than one incredible listening room. In our theater, we screened iconic films with soundtracks recorded at Abbey Road Studios — including Skyfall, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King — giving guests a cinematic perspective on the studio’s storied legacy.

Meanwhile, the Marantz Horizon room showcased the innovative Grand Horizon and Horizon Wireless systems in multiple finishes, offering a completely different — but equally impressive — high-performance audio experience. Each space was carefully curated to show the variety of ways great sound can be experienced, whether for critical listening or whole-home enjoyment.

Flash DJ Set + Streaming Masterclass with David Solomon

The night’s energy hit a new high when we welcomed David Solomon, one of high-end audio’s most passionate ambassadors. His Flash DJ set was a genre-spanning journey through 75 years of remarkable recordings — from iconic favorites to deep cuts you forgot you loved. Between tracks, David shared insights on lossless streaming, optimizing your system, and the emotional connection that great music systems make possible.

More than a demonstration, it was a reminder of why we build incredible systems in the first place: the music. Guests left not only inspired but also armed with a fresh playlist to rediscover on their own setups.

A True Collector’s Event

Alongside the listening sessions, guests enjoyed:
  • A historical showcase of vintage Bowers & Wilkins models
  • Expert presentations on the speaker’s development and significance
  • Cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and exclusive commemorative merchandise.

For a select few, the night marked the start of ownership. Each purchase came with a $3,000 travel voucher toward an exclusive tour of Abbey Road Studios in London — the ultimate pilgrimage for any music lover.

Continuing the Journey

The 801 Abbey Road Limited Edition is more than a loudspeaker — it’s a once-in-a-lifetime blend of British craftsmanship, studio heritage, and sonic perfection. We’re honored to have kicked off the national tour right here in Montgomeryville, giving our clients the first chance to see, hear, and own this historic release.
