Impressively Deep, Clean SVS Bass in an Inconspicuous 13" Cabinet

Like a stick of dynamite, the SB-1000 300 Watt DSP Controlled 12" Ultra Compact Sealed Subwoofer is easy to conceal, but its impact is hard to ignore. It's the most SVS bass that can be condensed into a 13" package. When it's time to party, your music comes to life, bass lines are tight, and drums are never muddy.

Elegantly finished in premium black ash, gloss piano black, or gloss piano white, it fits with any décor. And yet, it's small enough to tuck in a corner if you need to keep it out of the way. To maximize the slam and impact of your home theater (with a minimal footprint), two SB-1000s can be paired, one on either side of the room.

For big movie and music enjoyment in a small package, go with the SB-1000.

Sledge Amplifier STA-300D

The Sledge STA-300D amplifier packs technology and sophistication not found anywhere else at this price point.

This amp features a highly advanced DSP processor offering unmatched control over the subwoofer at all drive levels, for the ultimate in refined behavior. The control knobs are actually digital actuators for precise and noise-free adjustment.

SVS 12" High Output Driver

With SVS, compact and affordable doesn't mean compromising on performance. The 12" driver in the SB-1000 pumps out loads of deep and powerful bass with low distortion, for smooth and accurate performance on music and movies.

  • FEA-optimized motor for low distortion
  • Long-throw suspension for high output at deep frequencies

Made in China
4 stars only. The 5 the would be given if this product had been made in the USA. I feel mislead with my purchase. SVS proudly share their home Youngstown Ohio. I have yet to see on the website that there products are made in China.
The SB 1000 has complimented my sound system nicely. No matter how nice it sounds and how great the quality is, and both are excellent, I do not like the fact that it’s made in China because ultimately I’m sure it would be a better sub had it been made in the USA. The option to return is mine but I like it a lot. Just feel mislead.

I'm not an audiophile by any means, but this subwoofer for 98% of people just wanting to buy a subwoofer will do exceptionally well. I don't know much about wave lengths and frequency or anything. But I do know that it sounds fantastic. It gets loud enough to annoy my neighbors when they're stomping around. It is easy to set up and it's the perfect form factor. It looks really clean. I wish all subwoofers came with the isolation feet standard as I feel 50 dollars is a bit much, but if you're on the second or 3rd floor of an apartment building it might be worth it.

Fantastic subwoofer for the money and will be better than most subwoofers people will buy without breaking the bank.

Living in small (often shared) space has always left me to avoid subs. Finally worked out the shares part. This is a great sub for smaller spaces. It integrates nicely with your other speaker when listening to music. That is, the bases eases in and helps out where needed, but doesn’t turn you music into All thump. (I’m guessing if that is what you really needed, this little guy would oblige.)

Action movies, you get all the boom shake. It is good.

Amazingly compact too.

Superb performance for such as small package
I needed a powered subwoofer that would fit into a small location at the front of my living room.
The room is approximately 20 x 12, with TV Stand on center of long wall, along with bookcases and speakers.

The sub had to be tucked on floor in the space between my existing speaker and tv stand, but could not extend too far out into room.
This was a hard requirement due to "she who must be obeyed"

From a size perspective, the SBS-1000 fit the space requirement perfectly.
With the in-home trial, I figured why not give it a shot?

Hooked it up, ran Audyssey on my Denon, and gave things a whirl with some movie scenes that have
some scenes with low frequencies.

1) The scene in Ready Player One where the explosion occurs when "forcefield bubble" goes down
Prior to haveing the SB-1000, this scene always gave my older tower speakers and Denon receiver a hard time.
Sometimes the receiver would clip trying to handle the bass.

After adding the SB-1000 to my configuration - the problem is GONE.
Solid, smooth, clean bass fills the entire living room.
I am quite pleased with the results.

2) Godzilla King of Monsters - several scenes literally shook the windows.
I may have to add the SVS isolation feet, but that will have to come down the road.

3) Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring - opening battle scene where the ring is cut from Sauron's finger
An amazing "oooooooooooooooooooooom" fills the room. If you've seen it the movie you know what I'm talking about.

If you need even more lower end, then you may want to try the ported models.

Bottom Line:
This is amazing performance wrapped up into a very small package.
It fits my requirements perfectly

I am very pleased, and highly recommend this product!

This is the first real (not cheap) subwoofer I've had. My room is 12x22, with the main speakers against the narrow wall. This thing absolutely blows us away for both movies and music. I have hardwood floors, so also bought the isolation feet which do their job very well. The sound is very tight and powerful. The gloss white looks awesome. I'm very satisfied and would recommend to anyone with a smaller space.

super bass at low volume
The acoustics of my apartment are terrible when it comes to reproducing low end frequencies. In addition, I am constrained to listening to music at a low volume. For these reasons, I decided to replace my old Bose Acoustimass 3 speaker system with a SVS SB-1000 powered subwoofer and two Rockville Cube 3.5" speakers. The result was spectacular. The features available on the SB-1000 allowed me to customize the bass response to accommodate the restrictions I previously mentioned. I now have the sound reproduction I was trying to achieve. Definitely a five star rating.

Just set it up and huge smile on my face
The sub is new for me but I just set it up and I LOVE the power and responsive bass. The piano white gloss is so pretty and looks great in my new home. Straight-forward initial set up and lots of options for tweaking the sound to my taste.

Great supplement to two channel stereo
I was disappointed in my Klipsch KG5.2's (owned since new in the 1990s) lack of bass, but was skeptical about a subwoofer's benefit in two-channel audio for music. In addition to the speakers mentioned before, my system consists of an NAD c368 integrated amplifier and c568 cd player. After a great deal of research and review reading, I decided to purchase a single SVS SB1000. The addition of an SB1000 provided a remarkable improvement. Not only did bass improve dramatically, but also it seems the soundstage got wider and deeper with the subwoofer. It really was a remarkable improvement. Can't explain it, but it's easy to hear the difference. Also purchased the Soundpath wireless product. Both work great. Thanks SVS for a great product.

Beats the KEF Kube10b easily
I did an extensive set of auditions and in-room measurements in a 12x32 foot listening room, well damped by furniture and rugs, paired with my KEF LS50W wireless speakers, versus the more expensive, slightly larger and heavier KEF Kube10b, which has nearly identical amplifier and frequency response specs but a 10" driver. The SVS won the competition easily, with an audibly smoother frequency response. The KEF subwoofer has a peak at 50-60Hz that coincides with a room response peak at the same frequencies, and I wasn't able to control this with placement, so I had to choose between unnatural emphasis at those notes or weak response elsewhere. The SVS helped that a lot by avoiding a pile-on effect.

I set the SVS's to LFE mode, left the phase at 0, and matched the volume to the KEFs around 30%—this subwoofer is more than powerful enough to pair with them, for all their 230 WPC active amplification. I moved the KEF's default "subwoofer on" crossover control up from 80Hz to 95Hz, which I think subjectively is better sounding; at high volumes the KEF LS50W seems to exhibit some treble glare that I think might be caused by the tweeter being located within the woofer's axis when there's high woofer excursion, and I think this ameliorates that.

My test equipment was a calibrated Dayton Audio mic, the AudioTools pink noise track from Amazon Music HD via USB-input into the KEFs, and an iPad Pro with the AudioTools app.

Test tracks via Amazon Music HD included "Hotel California" live, Dave Matthews Band's "So Much To Say," Rob Wasserman's "Ballad of the Runaway Horse," the "Gnomus" track from Mussorgsky's Pictures at a Exhibition as performed by Jean Victor Arthur Guillou, Jose Carreras singing Ramirez's Kyrie from Missa Criolla, and a lot of miscellaneous world, rock and pop such as Fleetwood Mac, Michael Jackson, Midnight Oil, Mickey Hart, Holly Cole (yes), Clannad, Yanni live (yes, yes, I know, but it's actually good)... the SVS's never disappointed with taut, musical, even underpinnings for all of this. The smooth responsiveness and tight grip was especially audible on songs with staccato "walking" bass notes like "Billie Jean," "Hotel California," "It's My Life," etc. I spent the better part of two days listening to alternatively the KEF subwoofer ($650) and the SVS ($500) and I'd say the SVS is worth twice the cost of the KEF. I'm keeping the SVS and returning the KEF! The SVS rounds out my KEF LS50W's perfectly and together, for $2500, they outperform systems I've auditioned at more than 10x the cost! It's a match made in heaven.
