Customer Reviews for SVS PB-1000 300 Watt DSP Controlled 10" Ported Subwoofer (Black Ash)

These Subs blend brute force with elegance.
But my one serious disappointment was because when the delivery arrived the box said built in China. The reason I bought this was that I thought I was investing in American made speaker company. I know this may sound surly, just want you how I feel.
However, I always knew there was a higher level of performance to be had, and I'm glad I chose SVS as a replacement. The Polk was great, but this is definitely an upgrade. A more powerful amp, voluminous yet reasonably sized cabinet with excellent internal bracing and a no nonsense driver. It all adds up to taut, muscular bass with precision and minimal effort. This thing makes light work of what my "Open on two ends" room requires of it. And I didn't have to go to a higher price point to achieve these things.
I was always curious about this brand since hearing my friend's Ultra 16 a year ago. Though I could not afford that mammoth beast, I figured with SVS' reputation for quality even an entry level offering might be worth considering. I haven't been this right in a long time. With the 45 day in-home trial and generous 5 year warranty to sweeten the pot, you have what is arguably the best A/V deal on the internet. With superb customer service to boot!
Never been one for gratuitous praise or superlatives. But, when it's well deserved ya gotta give it up! Accuracy, true to life 20hz extension with authority, and nary a hint of distortion all for $500. Way to go Team SVS. Nice job!
This is my 3rd sub in 30 years but first SVS. Build quality and appearance are amazing and sound is better than anything I've heard and blends perfectly with the rest of my system that does not contain any other SVS products. Customer service is also first-rate with prompt helpful chat. I suggest also buying the isolation feet which I did a couple years ago for my previous sub and moved them to this one. The ones that come standard are sufficient and not cheap, but the optional ones they sell really cleans up the base and provides good clean sound w/o a lot of rattling of other things in the room. I couldn't be happier with this purchase and don't know why anyone would consider something other than SVS if looking for a sub. I'm so impressed I will strongly consider them for other speakers in the future.
