Sonos Amp Wireless Hi-Fi Player (Black)

Previously had a dedicated Yamaha outdoor amplifier to drive our SpeakerCraft OE8 outdoor speakers on our rear deck. Replaced with Sonos Amp. Although it's pricey, it sounds awesome and the big advantage is we can play the same music in our living room Sonos 5's as the outdoor speakers. So we can enjoy the same music in both locations.
Very easy to install and set up.

The 'Amp' replaced a Home Theater receiver I still employed with some nice horn driven speakers I couldn't part with. The receiver was the last bulky and 'in your face' component in the living room. I expected Sonos quality in this Amp, but wasn't ready for the improvement in sound stage in comparison to the receiver. Things sounded so great, I had to break out all my favourites so as to listen to them again for the first time!

Amazingly easy to use! It provides a variety of ways to hear music of my choice. Easy to control. Glad I chose Sonia!

This is used for our pool area. Works well and all the grandkids can play their own favorite music from their phones.

Paid more for the amp than my TV and don't regret it a bit! This product is well executed and worth the money.

Great product. Was initially a bit disappointed with the volume from the turntable, but sales person from Richer Sounds advised me to increase volume of line in and having set this to loudest position, it sounds great.

Huge upgrade in sound quality from my previous system. Delivers my music from Amazon Unlimited, a directly connected iPod (holds all my old CDs) and any other devices in the house. Particularly like the way Alexa can be integrated to deliver sound via the amplifier wirelessly on a voice command. I have four speakers in the ceiling and the sound is amazing. Easy set up and incredible sound.

This unit in one configuration marries my old canton bookshelf speakers with a small energy sub in my living room. Beautiful sound. Tried the Arc wich Gen 3 sub. Sounded AWFUL. Quickly put the Amp back.
Gave Arc a second chance at other house. Same result. Installed an amp with Gen 3 sub and my prized Magnat speakers to an OLED LG TV. WOW!!!!!

This is about as easy as it gets to listening to exactly what you want when you want. Just search and play it. Excellent sound quality, lots of power.

Sonos is awesome. These products are so easy to set up and integrate with my Onkyo system. The Sonos App is so user friendly it's ridiculous. I plan on adding additional AMPs soon. Just plug in the Ethernet connection to the Amp and the speaker wires and you're done.

We moved into our new home four years ago and kept on using the Sonos Connect with a little amp I had for a long time in our little old house. This worked fine in terms of streaming music but it couldn't fill the new big room. What a difference the Amp makes! My little bookshelf speakers sound amazing now!

As a confirmed fan of Sonos, these two units provide a perfect compact system for playing a range of streamed music in a med-large room using older speakers and the excellent Sonos sub mini. It seems there are numerous problems (Google them) with the HDMI e-arc with some devices including my new LG tv. The industry ought to get this sorted and provide reliable plug and play and there is no optical input. There are better ways of providing tv sound anyway.

We have enjoyed our SONOS system for over 4 years now. However, when we moved and integrated lanai speakers in our sound setup, we needed an Amp. Amp works great! However, the SONOS app on our Android phones is inconsistent. Sometimes it shows all our room definitions; other times it does not. We had Geek Squad install the Amp, as well as installing Eeros wifi boosters. What can be done about this SONOS software app inconsistency? We are using it on Samsung S9 and S22 cellphones. Thanks!

When streaming wirelessly, this amp's sound quality is excellent and it has more than enough power to get great sound out of whatever speakers you connect. It's sleek, unobtrusive, and just works.

You have to pay a lot of extra money for other manufacturer's gear to get a better level of functionality with matching sound quality.

I added the amp because I had two sets of built-in speakers in my house. This gave me the ability to connect it with my other Sonos speakers, and take advantage of the speakers that were built into the ceiling. I highly recommend it.

I use this amp to control 2 sonos speakers that are mounted in my kitchen ceiling. I was able to fit this amp in one of my kitchen cabinets with its small design and run the wires directly to it. Now its easier than ever for me to stream music!

Set up in lounge with Kliptch speakers. And running a turntable. Brilliant thing.

We connected this amp to our whole house speaker systems and it works flawlessly.

Love the fact that I can now stream my records and CDs across the entire system - whole house. Still need a few more HDMI ports added.

Used this to power speakers in a garage. Would have liked to set a an EQ mor than treble or bass in the app. Love the flexibility of playing music without streaming from my phone.

Came with my sonance garden series. Sad I didn't get Sonos amp earlier along with other speakers! This is great!

Excellent product….set up took less than 10 minute….sound quality is superb

I'm so disappointed in its sonos. Although this system should work wirelessly, it does not. I went to great lengths to hardline everything via Ethernet and I still can't get a true surround sound setup. I must run my sonos amp speakers separately from my beam and sub. Sonos customer care has not been able to help me after investing over $8k

I hoped the Sonos Amp would provide great sound for streamed music as well as for home cinema use … I was not disappointed! It pairs brilliantly with my existing floor standing speakers and Symfonisk surround speakers.

I have 9 sets of ceiling speakers. This drives them all to levels I never heard using my prior amp.
Excellent, enjoyable and easy to set up. Better than I ever expected.

Costs too much for just average sound. Got better bang for my buck with a Yamaha amp/receiver.

Be nice if a voice assistant was built in the unit besides that it is great!

Love the quality. It's just been challenging to keep it connected to my Spotify that is played through an iPad and my Sonos amp disconnects from it daily.

Sonos amp sounds good and enables the users to utilize legacy speakers and streaming services. Experience tells me that Sonos customer service is 'world class'.

I started investing in Sonos about 3 years ago, and let's be honest, it is an investment. Originally, we heard rumors of a mass shift from S1 that rendered all Sonos investors before me product useless, scared me a bit. To this day, I still pray Sonos does not sunset my versions placing me in a stuck stance for expanding my product suite, because this brand is worth it. With respect the the amp, I have 5 running my home, and absolutely love it. I did not purchase the in-wall speakers but they power my Martin Logan speakers amazingly. Since that initial blow to the pockets, I've expanded to having 5 Play 1's, 4 Play 3s, 2 Roams, 2 Moves, 4 Play 5s, Arc, Beam and 5 Subs across my house and cabin, so needless to say…I'm all in. The systems are near interchangeable, allowing me to take products between homes and through quick change over in network, they are up and rockin'. The surround sound from the Arc and Play 1s….and the Beam for that matter, are amazing, great surround displacement. I've invested over 20k in my media room surround (I know, not much to some) but will the distinction Sonos produced with a 3:1 surround can actually sound better. Now, when it comes to gut crunching, mind bending movies and shows…they are ok. Still a good experience but don't hold up at super high volumes. The Play 1s in either surround or in stereo are my favorite of the Speakers, they are cost effective comparatively, and give a great whole sounds with minimal footprint. I could go on and on about how much I enjoy all aspects of Sonos products and their insanely good reliability, but for anyone reading this, if you are on the fence, the investment is worth it…whatever you are buying now, won't be your last

I'm so happy that I was finally able to get one after they have been out of stock for so long. I'm enjoying it everyday. I have this amp and a five and they fill my home with great sound. I love that I can control the system with my phone or my laptop. No more buying CDs or vinyl for me because this is the future. I'm a Sonos fan for life!

I installed the AMP to support my whole house speaker system. The sound volume and quality is so much better than what I had before. A couple of my neighbors paid sound experts to come in and set their system up. I set up my own system for significantly less than what they paid. It was not difficult.

It was well worth the upgrade from the old Sonos Amp, wow the POWER this amp put out is amazing. It drives my power hungry Dynaudio speakers perfectly! I also connected my Technics record player and I am loving it.

A proper upgrade - I had a SONOS ZP Connect ZP90 connecting my SONOS stream to a 20 year old amp and 30 year old hi fi speakers. The amp, tuner n and the ZP90 were all swapped out but I kept the speakers -
The new set up sounds brilliant but best of all is all controlled from the app on my phone. No knob twiddling - full range of music to stream - What's not to like?

I had to change to the version 1 software because I still have a ZP100 in another room but even that was quite easy to do - when I swap out the ZP100 I will then switch back to version 2 software .

The new AMP was vertically mounted in a concealed unit in the wall giving me a sleek , unencumbered system without the stack of black electronics boxes.

Small and easy to use. Elegant looks and quality sound for in wall speakers. Super pleased!

I had to purchase the Amp because my Bluetooth turntable cannot be "wirelessly" connected to the Sonos speakers (Symfonisk). It may be a lack of understanding on my part of what Bluetooth means, but the cost is rather steep for this one function.
Nonetheless, I'm now able to listen to my records all over the house, so I call that a win.

We use this for stereo music in our home. It replaced another brand that was glitchy, lost connection to the wifi and was not reliable. The Sonos just plain works, every time without fail. Sound quality is superb!

First I must say so far it is a great product. We do alot of karaoke on my patio and this would have been great if I could pull up youtube karaoke videos and stream it.

The SONOS Amp will provide me sound for outdoor music and an outdoor TV under new screened porch. I will be switching to ethernet cable to SONOS Amp since wifi is cutting out occassionally thus losing SONOS Amp remote control interface with SONOS App but surprisingly music continues. Ultimately I will have 6 pairs of wired passive outdoor speakers surrounding pool, firepit, and under the porch. Rather than purchasing separate SONOS Amps for each pair of wired speakers. I will connect the speakers through a Niles SSVC-6 6 pair speaker selector with separete on/off and volume control for each pair. Currently I am testing with 2 speaker pairs and sound quality is great. I don't play loud music. I like the volume at about 3/4 full on Niles speaker selector and SONOS at about 80% for listening to 1 speaker pair under 26'x 16' outdoor screened porch. When I added a second pair of speakers through Niles selector I did not detect sound level dropping off of 1st pair.

When I add other speakers I will set the volume control on the selector switch at desirable levels for each separate zone. After that I can turn off any zone from the selector switch without changing volume setting for that zone. Thereafter volume will be controlled by the SONOS Amp for all zones simultaneously with tweaking volume for each zone by the NIles selector switch or turning them on and off by the selector switch convenienlty located and protected from the elements under the screened porch in a cabinet.

The SONOS Amp works well with multiple music streaming services like Amazon Music and Spotify. The Iphone SONOS app serves as the remote control. Music is streamed over wifi or ethernet directly from router to the SONOS Amp. Music is not streamed from phone so you can take phone calls with sound through phone while music still plays through SONOS Amp.

Another reason I purchased the SONOS Amp is so that TV sound would be immediatly played through external speakers through the SONOS Amp when the TV is turned on. This is possible because the SONOS Amp has an HDMI ARC connection to the TVs HDMI ARC port. I can also choose to play music on the SONOS Amp to the external speakers and let the TV play sound through its own speaker.

By using the Niles speaker selector switch, I can listen to the TV sound or music in all the speaker zones or choose which ones with the selector switch on/off buttons. However, I can't play the TV through one zone and music through others with the selector switch. I would have to use the TV speakers for the sound on the porch while listenting to music around the pool throught the SONOS Amp.

If I wanted to play TV sound through my external porch speakers while playing music through my pool speakers, I would need to purchase a second SONOS Amp connected to the porch external speakers directly without going through the Niles Speaker Selector box. I don't know however, if when I played music through the two SONOS Amps whether there would be sound delay for the sound going to the pool speakers through the Niles Speaker Selector and sound going to the porch speakers directly from the 2nd SONOS Amp. However, at this time I have no desire to do this so connecting one SONOS Amp to the Niles Selector Switch which will be connected to my 6 pair of external speakers surrounding the pool, fire pit and screen porch meets my needs and easy to control.

Also by not spending extra money on multiple SONOS Amps I am putting money into high quality outdoor speakers. I just purchased a pair of Paradigm 470 outdoor speakers with 7 1/2 inch woofers for the TV surround sound under my porch. The SONOS Amp provides a very good simulated center channel when playing these two speakers through my Niles Selector Switch.

I also have an existing pair of Klipsch 650 rock speakers with excellent sound that replaced a pair of Bose Freespace 51 speakers that were also excellent but didn't survived the cold and rainy weather over many years and lost their base and clarity of sound. l will continue using an old pair of infiniti outrigger speakers over a section of outdoor decking which sound good but don't match the richness and base of the high end Klipsch 650 rock speakers or Paradigm 470. I have not had a chance yet to reroute the wiring to the SONUS Amp to compare the Klipsch 650 rock speakers to the to the Paradigm 470 speakers. I have yet to decide on the speakers for the other zones.

The SONUS amp also has a connection for an external subwoofer. I don't think I need it but I will test it with a subwoofer I use indoors to see whether to also purchase an outdoor subwoofer.

I received the Amp and set aside a few hours to set it up. I got back most of that time. It was elegantly simple to connect to my speakers and audio, and I now enjoy pristine sound every day. It replaced a NAD receiver - excellent product by the way - but with everything I can now get in terms of streaming audio and with the sound and capabilities of the Amp, I won't be replacing it. I'll continue to replace old equipment with Sonos components!

This product is easy to use and it works with multiple streaming services. The clarity and sound is very good.

I use the amp to power my Infinity tower speakers and Yamaha subwoofer as a home theatre and as a music sound system with my play 5 and play 1 Sonos speakers! Incredible sound on both setups.Very easy to adjust sound to rooms from your phone or iPad. Powerful and versatile amp that is easy to set up and use for the novice and the advanced tech people.

Added Sonos Amp to my existing Sonos network. Using it to power outdoor pool speakers. The only Con I would add is that Sonos does not offer a repair service on any of their equipment-forcing me to buy an extra Amp, Soundbar, Sonos Connect. Only one piece of new equipment qualified for a 15% discount on new equipment. This is unreasonable and not customer friendly.

We installed Sonos Amps, ports and speakers thru out our entire home including an outdoor system. The sound is amazing. Everyone loves it.

I purchased the amp to integrate with my existing ceiling speakers. Just had the installation done and there is no audio from the ceiling speaker. The ARC sound bar, sub mini and the move speakers sound crisp with no issues. Amp issues could be a simple fix, will check with dealer.

Once set up worked great. Some issues when internet signal was a less reliable.
