Exceptional Picture Quality

With 8.3 megapixels utilizing 4K UHD Laser technology, LG CineBeam delivers impeccable precision and detail up to a 300-inch screen. With a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio Black level, it can express the deep black. And it accurately represents colors, thanks to a wide color gamut of 97% of DCI-P3.

Designed for Both Bright and Dark Environment

Depending on the lighting condition of your viewing environment, you can change the iris mode.

Dark Room Mode: Optimized brightness for a dark room. Recommended white brightness + lowest (best) black level with the iris' minimum aperture.

Bright Room Mode: White and black go up together, which makes the picture visible and vivid with the iris' maximum aperture.

Fits Laser Output to the Scene

Adaptive Contrast gives more depth to your image by adaptively adjusting the Laser output to the image, in order to create a high-contrast ratio. Bright scenes appear brighter, while dark scenes remain detailed with deep blacks and shade detail.

Feel the Emotions of the Original Content Creator

Filmmaker Mode turns off motion smoothing and other video processing settings. So it can faithfully and accurately deliver the creator's intent.

Covers HDR10, Dynamic Tone Mapping, HLG, and HGiG

HDR pro improves quality by making the bright part brighter and the dark part darker, while using the dark side details. So it is compatible with almost all HDR industry standards.

Would be great, if they can fix some issues
This projector is bright, colorful, and has tons of apps.

Unfortunately, my unit has numerous problems, including not having even focus, and a lens shift that seems to be completely messed up (if I go off LG's specs).

I suspect that my issues are early build complications, and once LG gets this ironed out this will be an amazing unit, especially for the price.

I received my projector and tested it out for a few hours. Definitely has amazing clarity and sharpness, almost as good as my 4K tv. Will update this review once I have gone through some more hours of viewing

Incredible quality! Easy to use
I just received my LG HU810PW and the image quality is incredible! My home theater room is still under construction, so I tested the projector on my bedroom wall and the image quality is already over my expectation. I can't wait to see it on a dedicated screen. I also love the connectivity with Disney+ and Prime... very easy to use. It would be nice to also have a direct access to Netflix, which is available on my LG smart TV. No clue why it is not available on this projector. Overall, very satisfy with the product!

Very Happly with the Picture Quality
This replaced 5 year old a HD lamp based projector in my dedicated home theater (black walls) so I run it on the Eco mod, lowest light output yet is still plenty bright. I feed my 4K streaming from an NVIDIA Shield Pro and of course the 4K is amazing. Initially I found the fan noise to be a little distracting when there was no dialog or content sound as the fans seems to have a higher pitch than previous projector. I added some acoustic foam on the walls adjacent to the projector and that made a big difference. I also change the mount location by lengthening the ceiling suspension arm to drop the projector and thus reduce the amount of adjustment required for key-stoning. This helped to increase the image sharpness.

Great features but some limitations
I replaced a 1080P DLP projector with the LG in a home theater that is part of a larger family room. I wanted something that would work both with lights on and in a darkened room. I also was interested in the HDR support. I have had the LG for about a month and am in the process of replacing my 100” screen with a 135” screen. I’ve tested a portable 135” screen and the larger image is much more engaging given the brightness and detail from the LG.

Pros:
- Brightness that allows for occasional use with the lights on and can display HDR content in a dark room.
- Once the projector is aligned, image detail is impressive.
- HDMI inputs that can support 4K HDR from a Roku Ultra.
- eARC/ARC support that allows me to use the Roku remote to control the projector and Denon AVR.
- Lens shift made it easy to position the image from my ceiling mount.
- WebOS interface that is the same as my LG OLED.
- Was able to use the image presets with minor adjustments.
- Powers up in a few seconds and is fairly quite.

Cons:
- The focus knob is very stiff which makes it a bit difficult to lock in a sharp image. You also need to be careful to keep the lens parallel to the screen to maintain sharpness across the full image.
- The lens shift knobs don’t have an immediate response and no center position.
- Rainbows can be seen occasionally in dark scenes.
- Somewhat lacking in achieving deep blacks but still working on screen and room improvements.
- A number of popular apps are not supported so the addition of a Roku was necessary.

Beautiful picture!
I am using this projector on an old 120” Severtson grey screen (0.95 gain, I believe) in a very well light-controlled room. This projector really shines (pun intended), particularly with bright/colorful content. Watching Mulan in 4K was stunning. It really was like having a 120” LCD monitor on the wall! There are many options to tweak the settings to your preferences. I have few gripes with this projector. The shadow detail is slightly lacking in dark scenes.I am using max lens shift for my placement and it seems to cause some focus uniformity issues in the corners which is fairly mild. By the way, the manual controls, particularly the focus lever could use a redesign as they are clunky and difficult to make precise adjustments with.
Still with such a stunning image I can easily forgive a few minor shortcomings.
Tremendous overall value!

Hopefully add a couple of features with updates.
This is my first projector. Gorgeous bright picture. I am hoping that LG can add 3D functionality via an update. I get that 3D was abandoned on TV's, but when you have a 150"+ inch screen, it is a great feature to have. One of my other reasons for purchasing this projector is HDMI 2.1. I realize, at this time, it is not capable/advertised to get 4k at 120HZ. I was hoping since the hardware is installed, just maybe, this gets updated. The vertical zoom is an awesome feature to have with a 16:9 screen. 4K movies look awesome on this projector. The picture is so bright it is like having a 150" LED on my wall. The remote and LG smart system is great.

Absolutely great
I am a casual movie watcher and just really enjoy picture quality of this projector. Night and day difference coming from optoma hd26. As other reviews pointed out blacks could be better but not in this price range. Still highly watchable just tweak the iris for darker room.

No 3D support
3D is still very alive in the projector market for home theater enthusiasts who are able to utilize a 120"+ screen. All competitors (EPSON, JVC, Optoma, Etc.) all support this format for home theater use. Very disappointing to see LG overlook this as they must assume home theater market is same as the TV market. I wonder what other features they missed the ball on.

I wish this is ultra short through with HDMI 2.1
I was planning to upgrade my 1080p LG projector with ultra short through projector. I live in a apartment and currently have multiple HDMi running from xbox, settop box and chromecast to projector. I was eagerly waiting for UST projector with HDMI 2.1 and was disappointed to see nothing in the market or released in CES 2021.

I've been wanting to upgrade my old Epson projector for a long time now. I've been waiting for an affordable 4K laser projector to become available. The LG HU810P seems to have everything I want in a projector. So, decided to purchase one before they are unavailable.

Upgrading to 4k projection. Wanted a long throw laser projector to eliminate need for bulbs. Price was good and I'm not much of a audiophile so it made sense.
