Product Information

Spun Copper Front-Firing Cerametallic Woofers

Cerametallic woofers are exceptionally light and extremely rigid, providing remarkable low frequency response with minimal cone breakup and distortion for higher, cleaner output using less amplifier power.

High Efficiency Class D Amplifier

The built-in, high efficiency amplifier features an analog preamp design, which maintains the original signal path for cleaner, true-to-source reproduction. The Class D output stage ensures maximum efficiency for maximum output, detail, and low frequency power.

Front-Firing Slot Port with Exclusive Internal Flare Technology

Proprietary internal geometry that minimizes port noise for clean undistorted low frequencies. The front-firing design allows for placement flexibility.

WA-2 Wireless Subwoofer Kit Capable

The Klipsch WA-2 wireless subwoofer kit (sold separately) allows high resolution wireless connectivity for easy placement anywhere in your room and optimizes output and low frequency response. Connect up to four WA-2 wireless kits to compatible Klipsch subwoofers in a single room for a completely wireless connection.

Flexible Controls

Low Pass Crossover and Variable Phase control allows you to tune the subwoofer to your Klipsch speakers and to your room, establishing the ideal level of bass. Line Leve/LFE RCA inputs ensure compatibility with home theater receivers.

Use Inputs Simultaneously

Both the RCA and wireless inputs can be utilized, giving you the ability to use a single subwoofer with multiple systems in the same room. For example, you can use the wireless input for your home theater setup and the RCA input for your 2-channel system, without needing to switch inputs when changing between systems.

1/2-Watt Standby Mode

Exceptional efficiency on or off. Meets global efficiency standards - reducing energy costs for the user.

Ultra-Durable Ebony Finish

Scratch-resistant ebony finish looks like real wood and covers the entire cabinet.

Detailed Design

Shock-absorbing rubber feet, steel grille posts, and a woven cloth grille give the SPL subwoofers a premium look and feel.

One powerful sub
One powerful subwoofer. This subwoofer really shines when it comes to playing games ans watching movies. Dont get me wrong its also great for movies but its role is for that low frequency response which it is an absolute beast at. The rattle your space will experience will still sound amazing because it is absolutely destinguishable from the bass the sub is pumping out. Takes a little while to break in but once it does its even more amazing.

Great bass, punchy and crystal clear.
I purchased this subwoofer about two years ago to replace a 12” from Polk Audio. This makes my home theater system a mixture of Polk Audio flagship speakers and Klipsch. I actually love them both, but am now at a crossroads due my desire to update my system from a 7.2 to a 9.2 system by adding front height presence speakers and replacing my Dolby Atmos speakers (also from Klipsch) to ceiling mounted speakers. Of all my Polk Audio speakers, the subwoofer was it’s weakest link. But this Klipsch 15” speaker has certainly resolved that issue and created all new ones. One, I’m having to put my niknaks back into their places after listening to anything with serious bass in it, as the entire house (along with my neighbors’) shake with the deep lows. And when it comes to those really deep lows, this subwoofer most definitely delivers. I can’t imagine having two of them. I’m already turning the level down on this one as it is. It literally has shown me all the areas within my home where connections could have been tighter, as I can rumble the entire house with this one subwoofer. I’m as pleased today with the sound from this speaker as I was when I first bought it. Incidentally, I shopped numerous different brands of subs before I went with the Klipsch. But the Klipsch simply had the best specifications, especially when it comes to that really LOW frequency response, which is lower than that of which the human ears can even hear.

5 Stars but I wouldn't buy
Let me first explain, I have 2 of these. These paired with a Marantz offer 400 watts of power. And though these are underpowered, they still provide the lows appropriate for most movies. Honestly, you will need to do the crawl method as you will have dead zones especially in a bigger room. But once you have this sub dialed in, one would be satisfied especially with 2. That being said, I would not buy these right now. 10/14/2022 this subwoofer's retail is 1399. I'm sorry this is double the price of summer 2020 and fall 2019 which were priced at 700 dollars, which should be the price of this subwoofer. These do sound excellent for the price I bought them, but virtually 1400 is too much, at 400 watts at 15inches. Maybe if this was an 18inch then yes maybe. But, the performance isn't 1400. I would go for a SVS 12 inch. You will get more punch and more power for the same price. Don't get me wrong, I love this subwoofer. But the up mark on the retail is crazy.

I bought two SPL-150 subwoofers in June of 2021. Both of them have died in the last 6 months. I have not yet been able to get a hold of customer service

Peels the paint off the walls!!!
An absolutely amazing sub woofer. I purchased "renewed" from Amazon. Had an issue with the plate amp, which Klipsch made right. Excellent product, excellent customer service. Couldn't ask for more. The plate amp was easy to replace after Klipsch sent a new one. The difference in movies and music with this thing is unreal!

Heart Thumping Bass!
Worth every penny! Deep rumbling or hard hitting. Whatever you ask of them, the SPL-150s will provide.

Best Klipsch sub ever!
I’ve owned many different top model klipsch 12 inch subs in the past and this 15” sub beats them by a mile. Unbelievable clear sound.

My 20 year old KSW-15 was fried by a lighting strike. That was such a great speaker I didn't consider any other manufacturer when looking for a replacement.

i have 7- 820f towers connected to a onkyo tx-rz820 av pushing signal through a monolith 7 ch- 200 wpc rms- 7 ch driven amp. I am unhappy with my sub. Its a 10 in 400 w klipsch with internal power. what should i get that can match what i have at high levels. I want something that will easily compete with my towers when they are being ran at high decimal levels. Considering a internal amp 15 in. klipsch, but the watts level seems really low for the force with which i run my system. any ideas?

Thanks for your inquiry and description of your system. I understand how a single 10 sub can sound lost when your system is playing at higher volumes. The SPL-150SW would be a very noticeable upgrade and improvement with lower bass extension and better dynamic range. You may also consider using two identical subs, 12 or 15. A dual subwoofer setup improves bass sound stage and breaks up standing waves for smoother low end response. Your Onkyo has two sub outs making the connections easy. The two subs should be located apart from each other and may require some experimenting to find the best sounding location for each of them. Upgrading your subwoofer situation will be a substantial sound improvement.
Is this the same as the SPL150, THE ONE WITH THE WIRELESS, but this has a different model number, and same price but without the wireless Adapter ?
New User U on May 27, 2020
Thanks for your question. World Wide Stereo is running a sale which includes the WA-2 with the SPL-150 at no extra charge.
