Love true wireless surround lacks sound sdjustment
So I finally was able to test the Dolby atmos on Xbox 1 as my Apple TV was only Hd and not 4K. I originally bought the jbl 5.1 wireless sound system but returned so I could have Dolby atmos. The sound is great when you are actually play Dolby atmos. When the audio is regular and it converts to digital surround it’s okay but I can’t make the surround speakers quiet enough even on the low setting. Also there is no adjustment for the middle speaker to clearly hear voice. For this reason I gave it a 3 star maybe I should give it a 4 but I feel like for paying double compared to the jbl 5.1 wireless speakers i initial bought has the ability to actually make those adjustments it also had a clear voice setting. This system does not you only have surround low Med high and the low doesn’t sound any different then the med and no way to adjust specifically for better voice audio. I found it interesting that you didn’t plug in a microphone from where you sit to do the initial set up and speaker test. It does it’s own internal sound speaker test but not from plugging in a microphone from where you sit.
In summary when the source is playing Dolby atmos sound there is no adjustment needed and these speakers work perfectly voice audio is perfect the surround and effects are stunning!
When the source code is lower for example regular Dolby digital the surround speakers are to loud and basically makes them stereo so I turn them off which what’s the point of paying the extra for true wireless surround. If all audio sources were in Dolby atmos or digital x then these speakers would be perfect but majority of sources right now are not. if JBL makes a update to easily make these adjustments then I would change to 5 stars.

Great Sound!
I bought the JBL 9.1 Surround Sound bar with 820W Power in October on sale for $800 at Best Buy. So far the best deal out there. I have been wanting to upgrade since June. Once I saw this one had a surround with Wireless speakers and a lot of power, I was sold. Sound quality is great and fills up the whole room. I definitely recommend this Sound Bar.

0 Stars... got it today, 28 nov 20, after the connection eARC/ARC experimentation, time to sit and enjoy F1 Bahrain Grand Prix. Folks, I was not watching the race, I am in it! The Left Rear speaker conveys amazing surround, Atmos fires everywhere. Amazing for my first ever lifetime surround. Oh wait, the Rear Right kept blinking slowly white, meaning 'disconnected' from the bar. Never saw it connected. Found a few disconnect forums, nothing to suggest a worse situation than Samsung. I avoided the Samsung precisely due to such connection issues... But not, JBL 9.1 RR never connects. 1000$ with Extended BB warranty? no thank you...RR never connects = automatic 0 stars if I could...I guess it is an 8.1?.

Simply Amazing!
Looked forever for a wireless option to replace my old wired surround sound system from Bose. Decided to give JBL a shot with the 9.1. I've been so impressed with the quality of this bar system. When you crank up the volume to above 15 it rivals my old system and is totally wireless!!! I'd highly recommend it, especially if you don't wanna drop 2500 on another brands components that sounds virtually the same as this.

Room shaking sound
I love the immersion experience. I detached the end speakers and have them plugged into micro usb electronic connections so I don't have to take them back and forth for charging. My problem is my 2020 Samsung tv doesn't recognize and provide an option for the Dolby Atmos. I have the system hooked up via earc hdmi.

Almost Perfect
I have had this bar for a couple of days and it is almost perfect. JBL, I don't know if you read these customer reviews, but please do one thing to make this product perfect. Please create an app that would allow customers to change the EQ settings. The lows and mids of the bar are absolutely perfect. But it is missing a bit of high end to provide contrast to the low-end sound. If this little bit of high end were present, this would be a perfect sound bar. The sound quality is great. The detachable rears are a game changer and definitely provides a wonderful 3D sound. There just needs to be a tiny bit more high end to really accentuate certain sound high frequency effects. If you did this, or added a bit more high end in an update, that would be incredible. Thank you!

JBL 9.1 soundbar system extraordinaire - a sonic boom for your buck.
After shopping Amazon and Best Buy I decided to purchase this soundbar from World Wide Stereo, based on the customer service reviews. I had already done the research that caused me to choose this particular soundbar and surround sound speakers with subwoofer, and to say that I was not disappointed doesn’t touch it. Never in all of our iterations of Bose have we had a sound experience close to this. And it is so much more affordable. I have never used the bass on the highest setting and when watching an action movie, you feel the concussion in your chest and feet! My adult daughter came over and we were watching “Guardians of the Galaxy” and she just slowly turned her head to gape at me in delighted shock. It is literally a blast! Water from a cave might be dripping around you while the characters are speaking in front of you, and on and on. Movies like that are a new experience with this level of sound effects. And for dance parties with grandchildren who want it blasting, we have the technology! I can move the twin speakers around the corner into the kitchen and there is still plenty of mid-tone and bass to fill the adjacent rooms. I’ve wondered if people walking their dogs by our house are having the same experience of pulling up next to a car with the windows closed that has some crazy thumpin’ system-we’ve never turned it up all the way, but the rafters must be vibrating! Quite a value for such a luscious system-kudos and thank you very much JBL/Harmon Kardon!

Powerful sound bar
Powerful sound bar, the subwoofer just shakes the whole house
A real home theater experience.
* The only thing I did not find is how I change the equalizer, from what I understand from the support it is something that is set automatically although I would like you to have the option to set a game, movie, or music.

How long does it take to charge the satellites?
A shopper on Dec 14, 2020
Thanks for your question. JBL features and specifications state 10 hours playback and 3 hours to charge. Playback time may vary based upon playback volume. Its possible to get longer playback by charging longer than 3 hours.
Detachable speakers, how far can you put them from the sound and still working?
A shopper on Jun 9, 2020
Thanks for your question. Typical wireless range is 30 feet. JBL does not specifically range. Perhaps it will be included on future product information for this new model.
When will be available The JBL 9.1?

Do the rears charge when bar is in use? Also do tears soon as reconnected to bar? work with flat batteries
A shopper on Apr 21, 2020
Thanks for your questions. The rear speakers will charge when bar is in use but they must be docked into the bar to charge.
Is there an app to control this soundbar and change settings?
A shopper on Apr 14, 2020
Thanks for your question. There apps to connect to wifi and streaming music. At the present time we are unable to confirm if an app is available to provide the same control of soundbar settings as the IR remote to control.
Does this soundbar have any kind of room calibration?
A shopper on Apr 14, 2020
Thanks for your question. The JBL Bar 9.1 has no room correction calibration feature.
You mention eARC under specifications, but I have not seen anywhere else confirm that this soundbar has eARC. Can you confirm that this has eARC? Likewise if it has HDMI 2.1.
Tim D on Apr 14, 2020
Thanks for your question. The JBL Bar 9.1 does indeed have an HDMI/ARC connection which would be connected via HDMI cable to TV HDMI/ARC. JBL has not published a specification regarding HDMI version. Given that the Bar 9.1 was released as a new product in January, 2020 it is very likely that it is HDMI 2.1 or better. Were sorry we cannot provide you with an absolute answer at the present time.
Can the bar be used while the satellite speakers are charging?
A shopper on Apr 13, 2020
Thanks for your question. The soundbar can be used while the surround speakers are docked to the bar for recharging.
Any definitive release date on this product yet?
