I was comparing this to the JBL Bar 9.1. The JBL was out of stock so I went with the 3D mini. I bought this to replace my W Studio. The subwoofer is identical, downfiring 8” with port on bottom. (I prefer the port on the bottom as past subwoofers with front or rear ports have been filled up with junk by my little children. I was surprised at how very little the soundbar was compared to the W Studio. But it gets loud. Easy setup, plugged included hdmi from the ARC on my tv to the eARC port on the soundbar, I used the other hdmi for my 4K blu-ray player which has separate Video HDMI and an HDMI for audio only. I turned on the 3D mini and TV and it worked right away, instantly paired with sub. Setup with the HEOS App was a little painful, wouldn’t set up via Wi-Fi, ended up having to get out a long Ethernet cable to connect to the internet and complete setup. I look forward to connecting to my new TV with eARC and Dolby Atmos. So far I am happy with my purchase, my wife likes how small and unobtrusive it is. After comparing drivers between the JBL and this bar the only difference seems to be 4 upward firing 0.75” speakers, I prefer the 1” tweeters on the 3D mini both have 4 racetrack speakers. I’m not too interested in upward firing speakers as my ceiling is “A” frame style, so the side angled firing racetrack speakers bouncing off the walls seems like a better bet.
