Another star loss for the lack of function without a phone. An app should be convenience, not the only way to run the unit. Even after the initial firmware update, it still requires a phone and a wired internet connection to adjust the tone controls. In addition to this, the app is less than responsive most of the time (Google Pixel4).
Very cool idea and beautiful unit, but poor execution by the Cambridge Audio team.
Verdict: I'm not super confident in my thoughts about the Evo 150's mediocre sound (sound is relative) but the execution of their UI experience tells me that my ears do not deceive me. I feel the CA team had a deadline, and rushed to put it together. What a waste after creating such a beautiful looking unit.
