When Ged Martin sat down in Cambridge Audio's London studio to design EVO, he was determined to sketch a product design that will endure for many years. Ged knows simplicity is the most elegant aspect of industrial design, and EVO demonstrates his mastery of form and line.

So, Evo is not only the best-sounding all-in-one player you can buy, its design looks to the future at the same time as acknowledging their rich legacy.
Customizable Side Panels
Cambridge's story started with the iconic P40 amplifier. So, using the P40’s wood trim as inspiration, Ged incorporated beautiful, tactile wooden side-panels into his elegant design. EVO’s use of premium materials includes a choice of side-panels, designed to accentuate the timeless simplicity of EVO’s design and complement your lifestyle.
High-quality Hi-Fi Sound
Both EVO all-in-one-players use revolutionary Hypex NCore Class D amplification - it’s rated at 150 watts per channel in EVO 150 and 75 watts per channel in EVO 75. Until Hypex NCore changed the game, Class D amplification was only about compactness and electrical efficiency - but Hypex NCore also offers obvious superiority where clarity, resolution, and outright musicality are concerned. It’s a big part of what makes EVO such an enjoyable and convincing listen.

Even the best components don’t deliver an incredible sound all by themselves. Francesco Bettucci, Stephen Tizzard, and the team spent hundreds of hours in Cambridge's London laboratory, poring over every detail of the way EVO makes music until they were completely satisfied. Because if their engineers aren’t satisfied, they don’t think you will be either.

Precision Driving
Evo CD uses Cambridge's new S5 Servo, an upgrade on the acclaimed S3 found in CXC. It improves on S3’s already class-leading levels of jitter rejection and error correction. Evo CD doesn’t use a multi-purpose disc drive, but a custom designed piece of engineering with the sole purpose of playing audio CDs with unfailing accuracy.
Engineered for Sound
The anodized aluminum that encases Evo CD’s precision components not only matches Evo’s purposeful design, but it also contributes to its performance. The acoustically dampened metal chassis ensures that nothing interferes with the signal as it passes to Evo’s Digital to Analogue Converter via its single bespoke ‘Evo Link’ output cable.
Timeless Style
Designed exclusively for pairing with Evo, Evo CD shares the same premium materials and dimensions – for placement below or side-by-side the network player. It’s your call, as is the decision over which of the two styles of side panels to opt for. Together Evo and Evo CD have a confident style, that acknowledges Cambridge's heritage but also looks to the future.
Form and Function
Evo CD’s sole purpose is spinning discs, to pass accurate musical information to Evo, this allows for a minimalist design – with a single button on its fascia, to open/close the CD tray. Everything else is operated by Evo’s remote control or the StreamMagic app on your smart device. CD album artwork, and track information, is rendered beautifully on Evo’s 6.8” color display.
