AXR85 FM/AM Stereo Receiver

The AXR85 boasts 85 watts of power, a built-in phono stage for connecting record players with Moving Magnet cartridges, a front panel 3.5 mm input for iPod/MP3 players, built-in FM/AM radio with RDS and 30 presets and four analogue inputs for connecting all your music, AV and audio sources. In addition, the built-in Bluetooth receiver allows you stream your favorite music from your smartphone, tablet or PC.

Solid Build
Solid build, hefty transformers and a spartan feature set combine to give the AXR85 a vintage vibe. Mine is paired with PSB Alpha T20 speakers. I find the eq is voiced in a particular way ( is that the "British" sound they refer to?) Overall, I am pleased with this purchase and with the quality and sound of the Cambridge Audio AXR85 stereo receiver.

Had read many reviews before upgrading receiver. This one can't be beat in value. Looks great, sounds amazing, has all the features I wanted including sub out which was key. Pure, crisp sound which brings my vinyl to life!

I chose this receiver because I have an old system and need something that will be compatable with cd player/phono/cassette player and also has am/fm radio. Spoke with an assistant who recommended that the cambridge would work. I'm looking forward to recieving it to replace my old dying receiver.

  Thanks for your inquiry. The AXR85 has analog audio line inputs. TV sound can be connected if it has: analog headphone jack connected to line input, audio output connected to line input, and if capable of Bluetooth streaming to headphone or soundbar can be received by AXR via Bluetooth.
How many channels? Whats the wattage per channel?

  Thanks for your question. The AXR85 is a stereo , two channel, receiver. Rated power is 85 watts per channel into 8 ohms.
are their pre-outs to upgade with a bigger power amp?

  Thanks for your inquiry. Neither Cambridge stereo receiver has pre-outs. Unfortunately, pre-outs on a receiver disappeared a number of years ago. Denon, Marantz, and Yamaha no longer have pre-outs either.
