The 706 is a bookshelf/standmount speaker with the acoustic heft to satisfy the demands of bigger rooms, thanks to its large midrange/bass drive unit. The speaker provides real musical insight into recordings, with details and spaciousness preserved intact.

Carbon Dome Tweeter 

Carbon Dome tweeters are a brand new technology purpose-built for the 700 Series. Delivering a dramatic improvement on the aluminum double-dome tweeter, they raise the breakup threshold to 47kHz, for pinpoint imaging accuracy and detail. 

Continuum Cone

First introduced with the 800 Series Diamond, the Continuum cone represents the biggest step-change in midrange performance since Kevlar. Its woven, coated material provides highly controlled break-up, resulting in a more open, neutral midrange.

I hate saying this, because these are lovely speakers, but the first pair had a rattle in one of the speakers at around 200 to 300hz. The imaging and sound d are wonderful but speakers of that value, you have to demand near perfection.

Amazing detail and clarity. A little bright and a little thin on bass, but that probably has a lot to do with the room.
