SVS PB-4000 13.5" 1200W Ported Box Subwoofer

Absolutely incredible! I can't remember a time I've been more impressed with a product. Exceeded my expectations of what a sub can do, literally shakes the room, when we want it to. If you can afford, it's a must!!!

Out performed what I thought I needed. Was going to go with the 16 and went with this instead. I’m not at all disappointed. My AV guy is highly impressed.

I started my home theatre journey in 2018 and brought a cheap 10Inch sub with speakers. It was functional but never got low or loud enough. I picked up the pb1000 and that was amazing, got low for sure but was wanting more punch for music and movies and the pb4000 is amazing. The app control and options to run it sealed or not is fantastic. I run it mostly at -10db volume with the amp on a -6db which worked perfect for audassey room correction setup and tweaking crossovers after. I really want another one but these are a tad pricy in Australia, maybe later on.

Loud and clean speakers and subwoofers when you want sound and quality you have to try SVS sound I’ve had a great experience! Thanks SVS.

Recently replaced my dual pb-3000s with dual pb-4000s as part of my slow upgrade plan to ensure the wife doesn't notice how big they are. I started with a single sb-2000 and have moved up the line. By the time I get to the dual 16s later this year she'll never notice what monsters they are. These needed about 2 weeks to break in. Originally they needed to be about 7db higher than my 3000s to match the output. Slowly over 2 weeks I had to start backing them off and now are equally impressive. There is a small difference between the 3000s and 4000s but if my end game wasn't to get to the 16s I would have been more than happy with the 3000s. My theater is my living room and open on all 4 corners so it's not conducive to good bass but these easily fill it with only a few spots being over done basswise. Would highly recommend

I just finished the breakin period of this massive piece of furniture. Watch a. Movie with the family and was excited when I felt the couch vibrating. Now I can wait to what it really can do. Time to unless the beast. Also thinking of purchasing another one to complete the set up. Also looking at some towers in the future

This is my second PB4000 so I’m running duals and I could not be happier. The base response across my room is something that you hear and feel putting you in the movie. I look forward to the times I’m in my theater room and escape into movies with the help of my SVS PB4000s. They are pleasingly good to look at and compliment my room and system, I occasionally turn up the lights just to look at them, they bring a smile every time! I am a proud owner and happy with my purchase.

It's big and you think the wife won't approve? No problem, the ultra lows will lull her into a trance like state, calm and manageable. Just buy it! We absolutely love it. Never heard a sub play so low so accurately. You don't have to play it loud to understand what it can do. It is such a civilized giant. I'm SVS for life now.

I have no words!!! From the help I got from Doug on the support line prior to making my decision to buy to the help after the sale from Steven to..... AN AWESOME SUB!!! I couldn't be happier. The bluetooth DSP means you can have an optimum setup for your music, your movies and even you're (trying to be polite to the neighbors) nighttime listening. It blends so well with the other components in my system with subtleties when needed and earthquake shaking power when the scene calls for it. Again....I couldn't be happier with everything about my SVS experience!! Even the delivery was a pleasure with the carrier and truck driver they shipped with.

From the moment I started my research to calls to customer service with questions and advice to my ultimate purchase of a PB-4000, my experience has been awesome. I was convinced to step up to the 4000 from my orig. choice of the 2000 and I didn't feel sold at all just advised. Glad I did. I wanted the gloss finish but my budget was already stretched thin. The dark wood finish looks great and I am not disappointed. Right away I was impressed with how well made this beast is and the sound to match. The only thing that kind of shocked me was the size. I could not believe how big it is! The dimensions listed just don't translate into the actual sub when it arrives!

I’ve been buying high end stereo and home theater gear for longer than I care to admit. I’m struggling to remember a product that has more impressed me. I know that deep earth shattering bass is important to many. I’d like to argue that even more important is the way this unit seamlessly integrates and improves the entire watching experience throughout the whole movie. Once we are done with COVID, I’d be happy to host people for real world demos.

I listened to them for a week but having got used to my Dual PB-3000s I realized I needed the Dual PB-4000s. I sent the SB16s back, which by the way are superior and sound excellent, especially for music listeners with a penchant for tight bass. I moved the dual PB-3000s from my basement to my family room and waited for my Dual PB-4000s to arrive. They came in today. Listened to some jazz after listening to some hard hitting rap and jazz fusion. Nothing is better than listening to Ready Player One. My basement is shaking and I am smitten. To sum this up, I spoke to Gary and Ed and they both were helpful and cared about the choice I made. From Scott, to Ed and Gary, this is a great outfit (as we said in the Army) and I am indebted to them for working with me and they have a customer for life. Damn these subs hit hard!

I'm still getting to know my PB-4000. I'm trying to adjust it to maximize performance in my room and with the rest of my system. I think it's going to be great. The only disappointment I have is that the box said it's made in China. I understand why. It would probably cost twice as much if it was made in the USA. Thanks

I bought this subwoofer with very high expectations, and with much hesitation because of the price. My existing subwoofer was not cutting it, but I had hopes that this sub would elevate the movie and music experience. To say my expectations were surpassed would be an insult to this incredible piece of art - I was floored by the build quality and performance. It is huge, gorgeous, and most importantly, the sound is perfection. If my theater were bigger I would add either a second PB-4000 or go with the PB-16 Ultra - but I would worry about shaking my house apart!

Beautiful, well built, and sounds great. The technical support was also very helpful; highly recommend SVS, and this product, get two if you have the space!

I'm really impressed on how my SVS PB-16 Ultra and PB-4000 Shake the whole house it kind of scares me a little but I like it. So I'm getting ready on sending back my PB-4000 for another PB-16 Ultra to get equal power output from right and left channels. I recommend the SVS ultra PB-16 you can't go wrong. You can feel the difference.

The enjoyment i get from the sounds this subwoofer produces, cannot be put into words. It has made movie watching and listening to music so much better.

The SVS PB-4000 is hands down the best subwoofer I have ever heard. I don't have a ton of experience with Subs but I have owned a Velodyne DPS and a TRU-Audio CSUB both 10" subwoofers. The SVS PB-4000 is on a whole other level. Simply "quality" in both bass and structure of the enclosure. I got duals and I am so glad I did. SVS customer service is top notch as well. Very professional and courteous group of high class folks there. If you are on the fence, hop over to the SVS side. You wont regret it!

Did a lot of research on subwoofers and read that SVS is an excellent brand. Called them and they suggested the pb-4000 for my size room. Went against what they said and did sb-2000. Returned it within a week for full refund and bought pb-4000. Sounds amazing. In short call them tell the size of room and buy what they suggest. Great product and above and beyond service.

Customer Service is fantastic. They helped me understand what I wanted in a Subwoofer and overall system. The PB 4000 exceeds my expectations. It can produce soft contours to house-shaking director inserted dramatic bursts of booming low sounds and hair moving sound waves.

I’ve owned several SVS subs over the years and decided to pull the trigger on the PB 4000 recently, I couldn’t be happier, this thing is a beast, has made movies and music sound even better, don’t hesitate on this one.

If you have the appetite to digest monstrous clear bass , just go for it. You cannot go wrong with PB4000. This sub takes your movie watching experience to a whole new level.

Well worth the money.

This is the first sub that l've actually bought standalone (not in a package deal) and I have to say that this sub is amazing. I watched the movie battleship the other night rock the whole house highly recommended

Very large, the pictures on the website don't do it justice! Awesome sound. Does my movies right. Makes the wife mad mad mad. Also bought the Prime Center and Prime elevations, four, but two on backorder. All being pushed by a new Denon 6700 H. I'm very happy with the sound and even loving the music again. This subwoofer is replacing a Veledyne 18 HGS 2. For some reason the veledyne amp kept going out after a few years. I'm hoping the SVS Amp holds up better. Am getting ready to retire in six years so decided to buy everything now while I can afford it.

What can I say. The 2 are so amazing. Beast mode,the drivers hit so hard. This was the best selection I went with for the size of the room.

I think people get caught up on "output" to much, let me tell ya a sub can have all the output in the world and still sound thin and non room filling. This one pb4000 right out of the box fills my mid/large room with pleasant deep tones that i new existed but never experienced with even larger/multiple drivers. I was hesitant to get just one 13 inch sub thinking there is no way this will fill my room ,,,, boy was i wrong,, just listening to the sub during calibration on my avr I new this was a different kind of beast. quality of tone is what I was after and the pb4000 has delivered the goods!

First thing I’d like to say is I’m a lover of quality sound and I’m also a DJ and a musician (bass player.) I understand the different modes and types of bass sounds be it from movies or music. Whether we’re talking about hz or octaves. Bass synths or bass drum kicks. All different. In regards to that, Its important the subwoofer can dig deep and be also be gentle on the top side.

The SVS 4000 handles all spectrums of bass quite well. Very impressive. The weight and size of this cabinet is monstrous. It was a lot heavier than “reading” the weight implied. That’s on me but it is massive. I should've had with a dolly tray with wheels ready.

The only issue I had was initially setting it up. After all the reading and all the you tube videos, I used Audacity to reset my 9.1 Atmos system. Then I called SVS to help with the 4000 settings. Eq, volumes, phase, etc. I was hoping the person who assisted me had patience as this speaker setup was new to me. He told me to adjust the phase on it in increments of 15 and said that all I needed to do was raise and lower the volume of the subwoofer as different movies and songs came on. No mention of how to really tune it. So, on my own, I played with all aspects of the remote and the different modes on the phone app such as saving 3 different settings, figuring out the differences in movie or music mode... the crossover settings....
It probably can get better but it sounds good. And I lower and raise the volume as needed.

Still waiting for burn in on sub and Morrow Audio cable. Couldn't be happier though. Clean sound. Can slam, yet be subtle. I listen to music the majority of time, so having a ported box that can be converted to sealed, port plugs and dps setting, was a big plus. One thing that could be improved upon is how to utilize the slopes and gains on the parametric equalizers. Se alot of confused people posting about low output.

I was running dual SVS 20-39CS subs that I purchased in 2001. I loved these subs, but a couple of years ago I moved my theater to a larger room and purchased Golden Ear Triton 5s, the XXL center, Aeo 2s, and mounted Invisa 7000HTRs in the ceiling. (loving Atmos!) Since moving to the new room and with the new speakers, I felt the dual 20-39s were lagging the rest of the setup.
After considering the SB-4000, the PB-4000 and both Ultras, I decided on the PB-4000. I expected an improvement, but the performance has far exceeded my expectations. Where my dual 20-39s ran out of room, the PB-4000 has so much more to give, and the quality of the bass is better too. It's tighter and more impactful. So I expected "more" from this PB-4000 and it still surprised me with how much "more" I got!

The grill had two small blemishes on it, and SVS quickly sent me a replacement grill. The customer service was awesome 19 years ago and it hasn't changed to this day. I'm happy to be an SVS customer, and we can all be satisfied to patronize a company that actually cares about their customer satisfaction while also offering a top-of-the-line subwoofer experience!

I bought new speakers to go with the new A/V receiver purchased to upgrade my home theater. I will post an additional review after I hook up the system and hear and feel it for the first time. Right now I just want to mention how beautiful all the speakers are in piano. So glad I got piano instead of the oak. Also want to mention how impressed I am with the packaging on all the speakers but especially the PB-4000. Very easy for one person to unpack and get into position and save the packaging without damage, delivery pallet too. Easy to follow instructions on the box and on U-tube. My previous system used a SVS PB-2 plus. Its old but works great. Bought around in 2003. Will hook it into the new system. Actually the PB-2 plus is even bigger than the PB-4000.

I purchased a PB-4000 from an authorized dealer (Dreamedia) and when I received the subwoofer and all I received was pop noises, called SVS and they immediately determined it was defective. Informed Chris M. from Dreamedia and called SVS, SVS calls me minutes later and informed me they are taking care of everything. SVS had a subwoofer on the way the very next day, SVS took care of everything!
On to the subwoofer, this is probobly the biggest sub I can go with according to my theater space, I was a bit worried coming from a 15" inch sub to a 13.5". Chris from Dreamedia assured me, the size issue does not matter and he was spot on, the SVS goes deep, it pressurized my theater and I only have one for now. Completely statisfied and cannot wait to get one more for duals.
I would also like to personally thank Dreamedia (Chris) and Scott from SVS, they took care of everything! They went above and beyond to satisfy a customer.

Have a PB12 Plus since 2016. Served its purpose, but wasn't enough power.
Upgraded to the PB4000 and what a difference. I now dont have to worry about turning down the bass and the speaker "farting".

As for th PB4000.....it is so deep and has a ton of "chest thump".
Will probably upgrade within the year to a PB16 Ultra within a tear AND add a 2nd subwoofer.

If youre on the fence about the PB4000....just get it. Its bass that you cant get from a cheap $500 box store subwoofer.

I was in need of room shaking bass for my home theater. The PB 4000 delivers in spades. Due to the layout of my home, I basically have 3 rooms that are 16 X 20 with the HT at one end. The sub has the ability to be subtle and yet startle with sub sonic impact that heightens the home movie experience. The piano gloss finish is beautiful and a steal for the money. The customer service and expert advice I received was invaluable and is something that is sorely lacking from 99% of manufacturers and retailers. Kudos to SVS and Scott A. !! My advice: purchase direct.

Replaced a water damaged 7 year old pb13 ultra with the pb4000. Was excellent great experience. I am running the pb4000 center port sealed in enhanced. Mainly because its next to a hot water register, no choice, figured to let it get more air. I created a music, tv and movie setting on the SVS app. Great experience and if you watch live tv a lot like we do, surround has great bass & other sounds that adds so much in live tv, like NCIS. A lot of drama is added with the low sounds in the background. Movies, Music and everything is perfect, love the experience of the PB4000. Also talk to SVS give them your room measurements and let them help select the right speaker, in my situation the pb4000 was the best fit. Got the black oak and it fits in perfectly with my home décor, easy to dust per my wife, and love the new black wire mesh, so much nicer than the cover on the original pb13 ultra. And by the way I have a feeling anything you get from SVS won't disappoint you. They are the only company I would buy a sub from at the current time. $2000 made my home a real movie theater for a long time. For those that don't understand it, there are three port setting for the pb-4000. All ports sealed and you must set up port tuning on the SVS app as all ports sealed so you don't harm the speaker. Enhanced is when you center port sealed only and then you have to go into the SVS App to port tuning and change it to enhanced also. Standard no port sealed and port tuning set to standard. It is also very important to save your work after you change the info. To save the data on each setting there is a little line across the bottom of the screen with an orange arrow icon key on it click on it and will give you option to save for presets. These were just things hard for me to find originally and these apps don't save automatically. So as a dumb first time user just sharing those learning curves that could cause you some problem the first few times.

FEAR of GOD Channel: I call dual PB-4000’s my Fear of God Channel! (Not to be confused with Auro 3D “Voice of God” overhead ceiling channel). Here’s why: Sound Pressure Levels (SPL) that will definitely damage your hearing if not Setup and enjoyed Responsibly. (Anything that can damage me permanently puts the fear of God in me.) Here’s how I decided that in my space dual PB-4000’s was all I wanted and I did not want dual SVS 16 Ultras. War Horse (2011 Spielberg movie set in the time of WW I) - I have been using a blu-Ray 7.1 of this movie for years to evaluate LFE in my home theater setups. At 1:34:30 in (scene Cannon Pull) the War Horse helps pull a ~8” Howitzer Cannon into position and it starts firing. The concussion is shocking; a little further in, troops storm out of the trenches (scene “No Man’s Land”) into full war - machine guns, bombs, explosions, carnage - the sound of war is cacophonous and scary as it was should be! But how scary do you want it? I want it to be scary enough that it commands respect for the content being depicted, but I do not want to come away come away earning a Purple Heart for having witnessed it! (Dec 2019, War Horse is playing on Netflix. I found the sound track pretty close to Blu-Ray quality - check it out!)
After setting up my Dual PB-4000’s, I auditioned War Horse as I have through years with other Subs (most notably: Seal 12”, Ported 12”, & Ported 15”). The PB-4000’s shake my 3600 cu ft space like no others. I literally check the sheet rock on the walls and ceiling for pulled nail heads. The floor your seat and chest cavity are all vibrating with concussion after concussion. This is definitely enough for me, in fact, they have more SPL than I can take. I had my SPL set to “A Weighted” where sounds above 500 Hz are weighted more heavily; my average SPL’s we’re in the 70 dB range. When I switched to “C Weighted” a more across the board less mid sound weighted measurement, the LFE concussions were going into the 100’s + dB’s. This is too much, do this too much and you lose hearing. And, indeed, in the following hours I had some ear pain; it went away, but I definitely activated the Stupid Factor. Please be smarter than me!
Initial Setup: When I first setup my PB-4000’s (3600 cu ft, 15’x30’x8’), I was often concerned (playing music and stuff not particularly featuring bass) that they were even playing at all, so I shut’em down and played ‘same’ without them. They were definitely playing and I discovered their extension into deep sound is very seamless playing with timber matched L, C, & R front speakers. Foundation of my home theater is SVS: Ulta Center, L&R - Prime Pinnacles, and Ultra Surrounds. Other speakers: Rear Surrounds are Cambridge SondWorks S300’s, and ATMOS are four Polk Atrium 6’s (with swivel-tilt ez install mount) with vented (ported) 5.25 woofers and 1” tweeters; they have wide dispersion pattern. Processing and power is Marantz 7013 and EMOTIVA XPA 9.
ATMOS: I’m messing around with position and aiming of ATMOS speakers. They hang from ceiling close to walls pointed dead nuts at listening area. Not willing to string wires across ceiling area - floor above negates in ceiling speakers. I feel earlier mounted front height speakers are too far forward of the listening area and I matched rear ATOMS to their distance making them too far behind.
With Polk’s Atrium 6, I can spackle and paint one ceiling hole and move them (places to hide wires going up walls is easy in my situation). When convinced I have found a good location, I intend to go to an SVS prime elevation or surround (with custom made mount for aiming if necessary). My experience with ATMOS to date, and now with more careful study of Dolby ATMOS diagrams for 7.2.4, I believe the ATMOS speakers need to be closer to the listening area than I previously thought, and the rear ATMOS speakers even closer to the listening area than the front ATMOS. This, especially when comparing to closeness of ceiling speakers, in Dolby’s diagram.
Music: So seamless. Currently crossing-over everything at 80 Hz. I and we are transported. I have to motivate myself to fiddle with it to get better sound or integration. But, I do enjoy learning and tweaking - currently learning Room EQ Wizard (REW) and have USB Mic. SVS will help with analyzing data and I will get to that, but honestly I don’t want to mess anything up (do want better ATMOS). We love pipe organ music. I am thankful my wife enjoys it too. We have season tickets to pipe organ concerts at Spivey Hall that was designed by acoustic architects from beginning to have a pipe organ and adjustable acoustics for all types of performances (it’s world renowned). I have measured Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D minor with SPL and come home and played at same SPL (it gets into 100’s dB’s). Close your eyes and you’re back in Spivey Hall. The SVS sound stage seamless extension into powerful deep bass is awesome, and something that can be difficult to achieve. The far left pedal (pipe played) with 16 foot length rank of organ pipes plays down to 32 Hz, same with 32 foot pipe plays down to 16 Hz. If you know the Stop and Piston selection for the music you know the frequency(s) of the sound being played. I’m 2nd generation audioholic, my dad got into pipe organ music to evaluate home made speaker enclosures featuring bass in the late 50’s and early 60’s; I learned to solder and helped (well, whatever I was doing I was having fun) building tube pre-amps and amps for HiFi (monorail) then Stereo HiFi. Some 2nd gen audioholic memorabilia: In a vented enclosure, the woofer and port work together with the port resonating like a pipe organ pipe. So with an all mechanical pipe organ (old tracker organ), each Pipe itself is a ported band pass speaker enclosure with a flute or reed acoustic driver.
SVS Customer Service: I asked my uncle, a Kansas Farmer, why he had an Alice Chalmers tractor instead of a John Deere, he said cause the Alice Chalmers dealer has real good service, and goes out of their way to take care of us out here it the boondocks. I can say the same for my experience with SVS. I have experienced no better customer service anywhere in my born days; I’m 72. The guys there are knowledge and very helpful. I like it that the products are honestly and accurately represented, and are competitively priced for the fact of their established performance. There are others as good, but none that take an interest in solving/fine-tuning my experience with their products like SVS. My uncle nailed the reason for why I like SVS products.

Ginormous,Is what I thought after I unboxed it. I originally bought it for my living room but now it’s going down in my movie room along with a second one, and I will be buying a 3000 for my living room.

It's the sound I've been looking for for a long time. The bass is amazing even at low volume. It's accurate and no rolling. The whole house shaking. I installed the soundpath isolation system and it's even better and even more of what I expected. Best subwoofer I have ever had. I kept my other subwoofer, Pariadigm Studio 12 and together I have a fantastic sound.

The first time I felt the base from this beauty an involuntary smile crossed my face. Who knew base could feel this good! Until you feel it you don't know what you are missing. Still smiling.

Purchased this sub a week ago and I am utterly speechless.this sub is a beast.i have had a pb 12 ultra 2 ,velodyne cht 15 and Klipsch rsw 15 no comparison svs deserves every award it has gotten and then more !!!!!!!!

Purchased this sub a month or so ago at a Magnolia store. Got home a hooked it up! It is amazing what I never heard in movies before. Came from a Klipsch 10sw what a difference. At first I was like this bass sounds different, its lower, where is all the exaggerated mid bass? This is a big key! Give your ears time to adjust from over done, distorted and exaggerated mid bass from your current sub. You have 45 days to try it out. It will take a day or two for you to start hearing the difference. Give the sub a little time to loosen up as well. This sub has a stiff suspension. Anyway,
This PB4000 vanished into my system. I used to be able to close my eyes and point to where my sub was. That is not the case anymore. You will be blown away at how much sound you haven't heard before in you music and movies. Absolutely incredible. I've researched the PB4000 since it came out in 2018. Finally decided to pull the trigger. Man am I glad I did. There customer service is top notch as well. I have called them twice with question since owning it on setup. They are always kind and they don't rush you off the phone. Ill tell you what... I'm pretty sure that SVS just earned a customer for life. I've always been a Klipsch guy... That might be changing, Might be time to start replacing my 5.2.2(except the pb4000) all Klipsch dedicated home theater room setup over to SVS.
