Product Information

A dynamic 6 ½” bookshelf speaker that demands to be heard. Polk’s newly designed Pinnacle Tweeter, Turbine Cone and Enhanced Power Port bass technology deliver unrivaled clarity, high dynamic range and effortless bass. The L200 speakers transform your listening space by revealing every detail from the delicate finger taps of a guitarist on the fretboard to the deep bass of an orchestra’s kettle drum and to the smooth tones of your favorite singer/songwriter – perfect for stereo listening or as a front stage in any home theater setup.

Pinnacle Ring Radiator Tweeter

40 plus years of tweeter innovation, design and prototyping has led to the development of the new 1” high definition Pinnacle ring radiator tweeter. Developed by Polk Audio, it delivers ultra-clear, crisp highs without unwanted coloration or distortions. The Pinnacle tweeter features a finely tuned waveguide that dramatically improves the dispersion of high frequency energy ensuring a broad “sweet spot” and while the critically damped rear-chamber helps to defeat any unwanted resonances. Hi-Res certified, the Pinnacle Tweeter is designed for today’s two-channel music listening as well as multi-channel 3D audio found in music, movies, sports, and video games soundtracks.

New Turbine Cone

Polk developed the new Turbine cone specifically for the Legend series to ensure the natural reproduction of the mid-range, the frequencies our ears are so sensitive to. The Turbine cone combines Polk’s proprietary foam core and the molded Turbine geometry which dramatically increases stiffness and damping, without adding mass, resulting in a smooth, detailed mid-range and effortless bass – hear every detail.

Enhanced PowerPort

Traditional bass ports make noise (chuff) and mask the low frequency bass notes you want to hear. The new enhanced Power Port® design smoothly transitions air flow from the speaker into your listening area for louder, cleaner bass while minimizing turbulence, distortion, and port noise. Polk refined their current Power Port technology specifically for the Legend series by fine-tuning the geometry of the port flare. Hear and feel the difference; Polk Enhanced Power Port® produces less port noise and more powerful clean bass than traditionally ported loudspeakers.

Compliments your Home Theater

Can be used for the front stage of any home theater, as well as side and rear surrounds. Legend Height Module (L900) are only compatible with floorstanding models.

Anti-Diffraction Magnetic Grille

Comes with a grille to cover the front baffle and a second grille for the top to cover the optional height module when installed. Computer modeled for a precision fit and to minimize sonic interference. The acoustically inert magnetic grilles offer a clean aesthetic without sacrificing sound.

Excellent !!!
I am probably only about 40 percent of the way broken in on these , and the sound is unbelievable!!! upgraded to the L200 pair from my old Klipsch bookshelf speakers. .. wow is the best thing to describe these. They have a nice neutral character but you can hear everything. So balanced yet sublime and detailed !! I have listened to Classic jazz , heavy rock , soundtracks , pop , vocals (they really shine especially on the female vocals as well) and it all sounds awesome ! Again not even fully broken in !! The bass is plenty in my 12 x 15 loft and my Yamaha AS2200 pushed these with ease !! I don't want or need a subwoofer ! Bravo Polk and Mr Orth , Mr Lumsden , and the whole team. ! My only other pair of speakers by Polk was a few wonderful PSW sub(s) from the 1990s and a RT16 towers for home theatre back in the 90s , but these are in another league ! Thanks again , will be enjoying these for many years to come .. I don't know how you guys did it in such a small enclosure , they sound like much larger speakers ! Imaging is spectacular as well :) Bravo to Mark K and WWS for excellent customer service as well :)

Such wonderful sound, fit, and finish, I bought 2!
I love the L200, I bought 2 pairs, in walnut, and bi-wired one pair as a computer listening system with onkyo older amp, and EQ. The fit, finish, and quality is truly outstanding. I got them on sale, and I am grateful for that too. Let me just say that Polk Audio has done an outstanding on the L200s, and L800s (I have those too, and they bring so much joy in my life. I am grateful to own them.

Rich, warm, truly fantastic sound
The L200s are delightfully warm, rich, and pleasing sounding. I am still breaking them in, as they just arrived, and the soundstage is fantastic. The fit, finish, and quality are all outstanding, designed and built with thoughtfulness, from the engineering to the construction, wood finish. I was fortunate to get the pair on sale, and with the frequency range, I am hearing aspects of songs I had not heard before. Well done, Polk Audio!

Nicest Speaker I Have Owned
These speakers are definitely the nicest speakers I have owned yet, in terms of sound quality and construction. For bookshelf speakers they have excellent bass, and are a perfect fit for my medium sized room. Also setup of these speakers was a snap due to the packaging design which made it easy to slide them right out of the heavy duty box and get them set just right on my stands. I have been into HiFi for about 20 years now and Polk nailed it with this product!

Very, very satisfying
I purchased these for my Office stereo system and paired them with a vintage Mac1700 (McIntosh 45wpc stereo receiver, and right out of the box they sounded Fantastic. I have them set up in a near field triangle with my office chair about 5 feet from the speakers and the sound is astonishingly lifelike and dynamic on all kinds of music. These speakers will give you delicately nuanced reproduction with precise imaging of acoustic guitars with vocals and then provide effortless abundant slam and boogie on Electric Blues. No subwoofer is needed or wanted, because the L200s will provide tuneful accurate bass you will both hear and feel. In my office setup 100dB is probably too loud unless I'm alone, but these speakers will go there with absolutely no sense of compression or strain. I'm certain they could drive to louder levels in bigger rooms, if needed. I have also tried them on a vintage SAE Two R6 receiver (60wpc) which also drives them beautifully. With the SAE receiver's power meters I see these L200s are driven to a good daytime listening level with about ONE watt, and when the drive level approached 5wpc (in my room) the spl level reached 100dB. To summarize, I'm very satisfied.

Are speaker stands recommended?
A shopper on Jun 28, 2020
Thanks for your question. If placement is a problem then speaker stands are a good solution. We offer models from Kanto and Sanus. Many stands include a hole in the top plate to secure the speaker to the stand The Polk owners manual refers to the speakers as Stand Mounted speakers but Polk does not confirm if there is a mounting hole on the bottom of the speaker.
