As hardware evolves, sometimes new accessories are required. For the last few years, AudioQuest has offered two models of Right-Angle 90-degree Adaptors. They named these adaptors in the most rational manner they could think of, referencing the non-symmetrical shape of an HDMI plug. AudioQuest named the adaptors for whether they bend in the direction of the Wide or the Narrow side of the HDMI plug.

More recently, the increasing use of side inputs on very thin TVs has led to the need for adaptors bending in new directions, hence AQ's two new HDMI Flat Adaptors. They have continued using the language of Wide and Narrow. When looking from the male-plug end, with the Narrow side up, the two adaptors either bend to the Right or the Left. 

AudioQuest offers these four adaptors because using currently available manufacturing techniques and materials, they believe that solid adaptors are more reliable and ensure higher bandwidth than is possible with a flexible adaptor. Sometimes doing it right is less convenient, but only in the short run.

Got an MHL input in my Oppo 103 D in the front panel. I pick AudioQuest HDMI 90 Degree Right Angle Wide Adapter for my 4K Roku stick ,to be able to close the door of the tv console.The adapter is well manufactured with gold plated ends and not flimsy. Recommend the product with overall rating of 5 .
