Personally I have found most headphones to be rather lacking in one feature or another when trying multiple brands. Either they're EQ seems unbalanced, they're decent sounding but uncomfortable or the battery life simply isn't there. These have everything. Right from the start the packaging is clean and you really feel like you're getting something special when you open them. Charging requires nothing but a standard USB-C cable and totally simple no hassle Bluetooth connectivity. These also have the best battery life of any models I have tried and an INSANE standby battery life. The 3D audio is really impressive for watching content and almost makes you forget your wearing headphones! The back, pause, and forward buttons I would prefer were embossed rate than debossed but I feel that's more of an objective opinion as I still don't have any issues using them. They are also very responsive and have no trouble adjusting volume or switching songs like some other models I've tried, I would pause rather than skip to the next track. The sound quality is impressive from all types of music to video. And finally, there is no silly app you have to download. These just WORK. There are a few built in EQ profiles built in when using 3D audio if you want a slight tweak to your sound preference but honestly I haven't found the need to change it aside from music to cinema. These are just great for any audio enthusiast.
These headphones are by far the best headphones I've ever had. They are comfortable, the sound quality is beyond fantastic, easy connect, sleek design. I used to wear headphones like this (with a wire) and they were super uncomfortable on my ears. I switched to Bluetooth ear buds for ease of use. I hated them. Went through gosh knows how many pairs. My last pair were the Samsung buds plus, and although I do like them and use them at work, I would wear them outside when doing yard work and constantly have to adjust them or worry cuz they would fall out. I wore the Yamaha while decorating outside for Christmas, phone in my fanny pack and music blasting and was happy as a clam. No issues, no worrying. The bass is phenomenal. They last for hours. Highly recommend
Wow wow wow WOW. Everyone GO to your nearest store to gel it these. I have never heard sound quality like this in my life. The 3D sound is a game changer, the music follows you as you turn your head! I will never own anything else besides Yamaha now! The sound is so deep and rich. Extremely crisp! The noise canceling is amazing and easy to use. You can switch from noise canceling and non canceling very easily. Battery life is amazing!
I have always been a beats or airpod guy but wanted to give these a try and absolutely loved them. Have had them fir past couple weeks and had them tested in different settings and am so impressed by sound quality; and comfort level having them on for long periods of time!
These headphones are one of the best headphones I have ever tried. I have a pair of Audio-Technicas and I can honestly say this headset blows those out of the water. I have real bad tinnitus from being a machine gunner in the Marine Corps. Lots of noise cancelling headsets just sound 'off' to me due to that. These have great noise cancelling without any bleed-thru, plus they have a very high range of sound. The only issue I had was they don't work well with my computer via bluetooth for gaming, which I know they are not made for that, but I figured I would try them out just to see. I don't know if it's the computer or the headphones that were the cause though.
When I signed up to test these out I didn't think they would be these. The sound quality is amazing. You can't hear anything with the noise cancellation and they're very very comfortable. I'm not a singer or anything but I can tell these would be amazing for someone who was in the recording studio. Sturdy reliable and stays charged for a long time.
Having tried the headphones for a few days I think the sounds is good quality and the different modes really help to give a good sound experience. They really block out outside noise as well so they have been great to help me concentrate when needing to focus. The downside I would not recommend them if you are on the move. they kept falling forward and over my face if I was moving around to much. But overall if your hanging out relaxing listening to music or something else or not moving a lot good headphones. They would have been a lot higher if they stayed on my head better.
Wow this Yamaha YH-L700A Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones with 3D Sound is awesome. It comes in a real nice zippered carrying case. The headphones bend down to fit in the box to be more compact. The headphones have this super soft material for while it is on your head. Super comfortable whether I am going for a walk or laying on the couch. Would love to try these while playing a keyboard or electric guitar as well. It is pretty lightweight and each headphone has a L for left and R for right. The setup is very easy! To start first, I just had to hold down the Power button on the headphones and wait for it to blink red and blue, indicating it is ready to pair. Then on my phone I seen this YH-L700A and paired them to my smartphone. Now that it is paired, I can download a free YAMAHA App that helps control the headphone's Audio and such. I can turn on or off the 3D sound , change the type of audio like Concert Hall, Outdoor Live, Cinema, Drama and more. The App also shows how much battery the Headphones have, Noise cancelling and an auto Power Off Timer. Such high quality and durable. These are Smart headphones and am super impressed!
I think these headphones have good sound, but aren't anything special. The sound is good, but I wouldn't say it was better or worse than airpods. I love the case it comes with and they are easy to charge. The 3D aspect is cool, but I honestly don't notice a huge difference in sound. It does do a weird thing when I turn to the side where the sound changes and I don't love that. Another complaint I have is the head strap is too large. I am 5'2 and have an average sized head, but I have trouble keeping them comfortably on my head.
These are definitely going to be my new airplane headphones ?? I don't have much use for them outside of my AirPods for talking, but for listening to music they are top tier. They could fit a bit more snug on the ears, but that's easily rectified. All in all I'm pleased
Yamaha understood the assignment and passes with an A-. I took my time reviewing these puppies and have determined they're great while trying to get work done, lounge around while listening to music, and getting chores done around the house. I tried putting them through the stress test of a typical work out at the gym, and they just felt too bulky to use there.
As for functionality, users will definitely have to read instructions or watch YouTube tutorials. The song pause/skip function buttons weren't obvious as they're baked well into the design. Learning to hold other buttons to switch sound modes was also not obvious. However, once I did learn and start to use those modes, I loved it.
I said good build, but I should really change that to great build. These headphones are sturdy and they fold well to be placed back in the case that they came with. Nothing dainty about the way they fold and I appreciate that. The case is nice because it fits all the cords that it came with, and it also has room for the cube that I plug into the wall to charge them. I think for the cost of these things, it would be nice to include that for the customer. Just my opinion.
The sound modes on the unit are fantastic. I really enjoyed the outdoor music sounds that these provide considering how many concerts we've missed because of this global pandemic we're in. The theater mode is typically one I don't use, but I found myself enjoying it on this device with the shows I was watching. They pair well with Yellowstone!
TL;DR Great sound, Great build. Moderate learning curve on how to use functions.
I previously have had multiple "noise cancelling" headphones but these are the first I would consider saying actually work. I put it to the test on my ride up to my families house for thanksgiving and I can say the rich full sound is all I heard. No engine noise, no radio in the cabin, just my tunes!
The 3d sound is cool but I have not found a solid use for it yet. As the holidays approach I have a feeling ill take advantage of that while I watch some movies keeping warm.
These Yamaha YH-L700A Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones with 3D Sound are some of the best headphones I have ever used. I recorded in a studio years ago, and nothing else I have ever used has compared to these! The 3D Sound is a great feature that allows you to hear what you need to hear from outside but not diminish the quality of the music within - plus - you never need to take them off!!! I would absolutely recommend these to anyone from beginner to professional!
The YH-L700A are very interesting earphones. In spite of the fact that looks are exceptionally abstract, I truly like the plan. They appear as though the earphones you use at the studio. I laud Yamaha for the particular earcup plan which is and a much needed refresher where most earphones follow a similar equation. The plastic-texture finish and downplayed marking make them look exceptionally proficient and absolutely premium.
They are constructed like a tank. The texture covered headband is rough yet truly adaptable. The pivots are tight and hold the cups back from hanging. The buttons are not difficult to track down, and I like the nuance of the track controls. The semi-hard conveying case is of good quality material and the headset fits cozily inside. Included are additionally a 3.5mm, USB-C charging string, and a carrier connector.
Indeed, the YH-L700A are weighty, yet some way or another, they are even, the headband is adequately delicate to mitigate some tension on top, and the bracing power is tight, however I never encountered any touchiness, in any event, when wearing glasses, as a result of the super-delicate (artificial calfskin) earpads. However, i will say that my ears got somewhat hot and sweat-soaked sooner or later.
They are Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX Adaptive, and keeping in mind that I would've loved essentially 5.2 for futureproofing, they combined up effectively and I didn't see any slack or separating when messing around or watching recordings. They kept up with great availability around my medium-sized loft.
Once more, I am glad that everything from ANC, voice help, to volume is controlled from the earphones, so there's no compelling reason to go after the gadget. The battery is likewise very noteworthy at 34 hours with ANC on. In the event the battery runs out, you can in any case utilize them with the included 3.5mm link.
Presently, the YH-L700A are jam-loaded with tech and highlights. There are the Listening Optimizer and the Listening Care highlights, where the sound is custom fitted to adjust to the encompassing sound and commotion for a superior encounter. It sounds extraordinary, yet in actuality, I didn't see any immense upgrades during my listening meetings - inside and outside the house. Possibly that is how it functions? The 3D Sound Field is essentially a head-following tech, so when you initiate it, the sound "comes" from the course you initially enacted it (left or right). Indeed, it's sort of gimmicky, however extremely intriguing and sort of marvelous, but excessive as a rule.
The commotion crossing out is shockingly great - nearly at the degree of industry ANC pioneers out there. With the assistance of the inactive commotion decrease from the earpads, I had the option to muffle lower recurrence clamors, for example, a lawnmower outside and passing traffic. While I could in any case hear a ton, it didn't affect my listening experience by any means. The Ambient Mode, where the mic gets encompassing sounds for mindfulness, functions admirably and is fairly helpful.
Yet, ostensibly the main component in an exceptional headset is the sound mark. In this, I was calmed as the 40mm drivers performed rather pleasantly. They support SBC, AAC, Qualcomm® aptX™ Adaptive. The bass is kicking, punchy, and distinct. There's a lot of sub-woofer bass when required, and it didn't get mutilated at higher volumes. The midrange was very much addressed as I had the option to hear vocals, cadence instruments, and tunes obviously. The high pitch takes off without being cruel or puncturing adding a little splendor. It very well might be an exaggerated assertion, yet I heard sounds that I can normally hear through proficient screen earphones. I partook in each music or film type I tossed at them. In any event, for gaming, the channel partition and soundstage made it charming and energizing. Once more, the sound is profoundly abstract, yet I think the sound coming from these earphones is outstanding.
Assuming there is any analysis, is the dreary sidekick Yamaha application. I was frustrated that there is no EQ or sound presets, control customization, or a more strong encounter. Ideally, Yamaha will deliver a report on that later on.
You would already be able to tell that I am intrigued. Alright, so a few highlights might be marginal tricks, yet I like that Yamaha is having a go at a novel, new thing and exceptional. What legitimizes the cost is what makes a difference: plan, fit, and sound, in that the YH-L700As convey.
Nowadays, it seems as those Bose/Apple have cornered the market when it comes to high quality headphones. Once I got my hands on the Yamaha YH-L700A, I was convinced that the Yamaha brand deserves a lot more attention and reviews from audiophiles. Yamaha is also known for making high quality instruments and recording studio equipment, amongst many other products.
In terms of the build quality, I would say this is better than Bose/Apple headphones. I have a big head and have always had a hard time finding over the head / ear headphones that fit well. The YH-L700A does an exemplary job of excellent fit and that helps with the noise cancelling as well.
The 3D audio was a surprising feature that I wasn't expecting. The idea behind it is that there is no loss of quality and audio when turning your head to various direction and provides for an immersive experience whether you're at home or on the plan.
The audio quality was also excellent. The bass is not overbearing like in some other headphones and highs and lows came through clearly, distinctly, and impactful.
Overall, I place the Yamaha YH-L700A as top tier headphone, and should be tested by potential headphone buyers before automatically defaulting to Bose or Apple.
I used these headphones for about two weeks, and I love them. But there are a few noticeable drawbacks for me. 1. You can't setup equalizer at all (A handy function in Sony's headphones) 2. You can't use multiple devices at once. And you always need to reconnect via Bluetooth, and sometimes it isn't enjoyable.
The headset sound quality is amazing and I would recommend it to audiophiles out there. 3D sound feature is pretty nice when watching movies , and battery life is good. Although even at the smallest size it is a bit too big for my head (5'9" male) and my ears tend to get a bit hot with headphones. But all in all a great pair of headphones.
I got these headphones to review and right aways before even opening the box I could tell they were going to be good. The weight of the packaging said high quality. Once charged up these headphones connected first try with Bluetooth to me phone. The noise canceling is excellent and even has an ambient noise mode to hear what is going on around you. Sound quality is great and feels like surround sound in a headphone. I usually use in ear buds however since getting these I have reached for these first every time as the sound and comfort is unmatched by anything I own.
The YH-L700A are quite unique headphones. Although looks are highly subjective, I really appreciate the design. They look like the headphones you use at the studio. I commend Yamaha for the distinctive earcup design which is and a breath of fresh air where most headphones follow the same formula. The plastic-fabric finish and understated branding make them look very professional and certainly premium.
They are built like a tank. The fabric-covered headband is rugged but very flexible. The hinges are tight and keep the cups from dangling. The buttons are easy to find, and I like the subtleness of the track controls. The semi-hard carrying case is of good quality material and the headset fits snugly inside. Included are also a 3.5mm, USB-C charging cord, and an airline adapter.
Yes, the YH-L700A are heavy, but somehow, they are well balanced, the headband is soft enough to alleviate some pressure on top, and the clamping force is tight, but I never experienced any soreness, even when wearing glasses, because of the super-soft (faux-leather) earpads. I will say that my ears did get a bit hot and sweaty after a while, though.
They are Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX Adaptive, and while I would've liked at least 5.2 for futureproofing, they paired up easily and I did not notice any lag or breaking up when playing games or watching videos. They maintained good connectivity around my medium-sized apartment.
Again, I am happy that everything from ANC, voice assistance, to volume is controlled from the headphones, so there's no need to reach for the device. The battery is also quite impressive at 34 hours with ANC on. Just in case the battery runs out, you can still use them with the included 3.5mm cable.
Now, the YH-L700A are jam-packed with tech and features. There are the Listening Optimizer and the Listening Care features, where the audio is tailored to adapt to the ambient sound and noise for a better experience. It sounds great, but in reality, I did not notice any huge improvements during my listening sessions -inside and outside the house. Maybe that's how it works? The 3D Sound Field is basically a head-tracking tech, so when you activate it, the sound "comes" from the direction you originally activated it (left or right). Yes, it's kind of gimmicky, but very interesting and kind of awesome, albeit not necessary in most circumstances.
The noise cancellation is surprisingly good -almost at the level of industry ANC leaders out there. With the help of the passive noise reduction from the earpads, I was able to drown out lower frequency noises, such as a lawnmower outside and passing traffic. While I could still hear a lot, it did not impact my listening experience at all. The Ambient Mode, where the mic picks up ambient sounds for awareness, works well and is rather convenient.
But arguably the most important factor in a premium headset is the sound signature. In this, I was relieved as the 40mm drivers performed rather nicely. They support SBC, AAC, Qualcomm® aptX™ Adaptive. The bass is kicking, punchy, and well-defined. There's plenty of sub-woofer bass when needed, and it did not get distorted at higher volumes. The midrange was well represented as I was able to hear vocals, rhythm instruments, and choruses clearly. The treble soars without being harsh or piercing adding a little brightness. It may be an overdone statement, but I heard sounds that I can usually hear through professional monitor headphones. I enjoyed every music or movie genre I threw at them. Even for gaming, the channel separation and soundstage made it enjoyable and exciting. Again, the sound is highly subjective, but I think the audio coming from these headphones is exceptional.
If there is any criticism, is the lackluster companion Yamaha app. I was disappointed that there is no EQ or sound presets, control customization, or a more robust experience. Hopefully, Yamaha will release an update on that in the future.
You can already tell that I am impressed. OK, so some features may be borderline gimmicks, but I appreciate that Yamaha is trying something new and unique. What justifies the price is what matters: design, fit, and sound, in that the YH-L700As deliver.
I compared this side by side to another well known brand and these are really good. The trebles sound amazing. You can really hear the voice development, they way artists intended. I'm kind of mixed on the lows. It comes across forced and not naturally deep.
They are really bulky compared to other brands. I would use them in the studio or when sampling sounds but not really something to sport in the airport.
I actually had to look at the case instructions on how to fold them back up and put inside - they definitely could use some better engineering with design. When on the go, I just want to be able to fold them an out away, in stead I'm twisting one way and twisting another way to place back into case. Maybe after a few weeks of usage, it would become natural but I prefer simplicity.
Also would be nice if the noise canceling was separate from the music play. I noticed the noise canceling was most effective when playing music, which probably benefits those wonderful trebles I heard.
Bottom line - it need more refinement. They come across to bulky for casual wear.
These headphone have really good noise cancelling features that I can't hear anything around me if I'm at home. It doesn't make my head feel stuffy. It's comfortable enough to wear for a long period of time too!
Received my headphones from BzzAgent and was pleasantly surprised. I have had many high end headphones/buds and I feel this are as good as any of them. I never really followed Yamaha headphones in the past always looked at some of the other name brands (Sony, Apple, Bose, etc.) and I feel anybody looking for a high end headphone should definitely check these out!! The quality as very good and doesn't feel cheap at all, very good quality materials. A nice fabric head cushion and the ear cushions feel great. Far a larger size headphone they are very light and I didn't even notice them on my head. The sounds quality… by far one of the better in my opinion!! I think these are as good or better than any headphone I have tried over the years!! The have a very well balance of treble and bass, neither over power the other and the sound feels like I'm in a stadium!! 3D sound works great and very easy to turn on/off with the push of a button. Noise cancelling works seamlessly and is easy as well to turn on/off with a button. All controls are simple and I prefer actually buttons compared to the Touch technology. I have had many people at work ask me about these headphones and if they could try them out and all were extremely impressed!! It came with a nice harder type case that seems very durable. The case is larger so fitting them in a smaller size book back/lunchbox might be tough to fit. I feel these headphones will last for many years to come with no issues. The connectivity on my iPhone 11 Pro Max was simple. Turn headphones on go to Bluetooth on phone and connect. Once headphones are turned on it connects right to my phone with no issues. My only real watch out for those would be to try them on. I'm an average size male and they fit my head very well, but I have the slide adjusters at the smallest setting. I feel people with smaller heads my slip quite a bit. Overall I recommend anyone that is looking for a high end headphone to check out the Yamaha YH-L700A's!! I don't feel you will be disappointed!! Great headphones that sound amazing whether watching movies or listening to music!!
I love that these headphones connect wirelessly to my phone computer. The sound quality is great. These sound better than my audio technicas and are on par with my Sennheisers. The battery life is great. I am in zoom meetings most of the day and these still had a "high" charger after a work day.
The headphones feel too big for me however. I wear a 7 3/8 hat which I would say is average. It is fine for low movement activities but would fall off running or exercising. Not that these should be worn for that.
The noise cancellation isn't as good as my air pods. I can hardly tell a difference when it's on and off
Wow. What amazing sound quality from these headphones. You can truly hear all of the different parts of a song and the audio comes through super crisp and sharp. They have great noise cancelling abilities, so much so that I was screaming a little talking while listening to music and talking to someone. They're also great for calls but primarily amazing for any musician or music lover! They were a little heavy on my head until I got them situated correctly.
These are my new favorite headphones. They will definitely replace my Beats headphones I've been using for years. The 3D sound experience is so immersive and really makes you feel like you're a part of the audio. They are a bit heavy but not so much as to make it a problem. The unit is very comfortable (head and ear cushions). It's also very cool that Yamaha has an app you can download to control different features for the headphones. This included turning on/off noise cancellation, 3D audio, head tracking, etc. All necessary adapters are included (wired wear, airplane plug). Battery life is great for headphones with so many features as well. I plan to recommend these headphones to all of my family and friends!
The sound from these headphones are comparable with Beats, if not better than the Beats headphones that I currently have. I mean, the sound, especially the 3D sound is absolutely outstanding! It's an awesome product and highly recommended.
These fold up nicely to store away in the case and aren't heavy like some headphones.
I would certainly purchase this product and would HIGHLY recommend it to my friends and family! Thank you for making such an amazing product!
The Yamaha YHL700A Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones are OUT OF THIS WORLD!
I haven't put these down from the moment I tried them. I'm a person that listen's to a lot of music. These give you a different experience honestly. Everything is so scrip, you hear every instrument. It's just amazing. I love it. I don't normally wear over the ear headphones because I don't like the bulky look but with the sound quality of these I don't even care. You won't be disappointed I promise.
