I'd thought about getting a new sub for a few years. Last week my 20 yr old sub suddenly developed a loud hum, even when it was off. I had researched new units a couple of years ago. I kept coming back to SVS... After one night, with a bunch of different material from music to movies, I am literally BLOWN AWAY. Light years better than my old sub. My old ringing ears heard nuances they never heard before, on music I've listened to a thousand times! I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase(SB-1000 Pro. $599.99). I can highly recommend this SVS sub. Top notch quality and performance.
This is how every manufacturer should implement their app...
Wow. I do not need to repeat what have been said by all the reviewers about how good the subwoofer sounds. To me, the app is intuitive, easy to navigate, straight to the point and the best thing is it works ! I have came across many apps that just does not make sense in the past especially from audio manufacturer. Good job SVS.
I'm currently running dual PB-2000 Pros in my theater and needed something for my PC. It's a smaller room, about 10x11 and I don't have a ton of space. I got the SB-1000 Pro as I needed something small and didn't want to spend the extra money for the 3000 Micro. First reaction is just how tiny it is compared to the PB-2000 Pro. It's almost a perfect 13" cube. After running some EQ tests to get the best placement (seriously though, don't judge a sub until you get the proper placement, it's amazing the difference even a few feet can make), this sub is simply incredible! I was expecting it to be good as I love the 2000 pro but I was not expecting it to rock this room like it does. The quality and precision is absolution incredible and the power this little sub has is breathtaking. To be fair, I don't think this sub would be adequate in a theater or large room setting but for a PC, office, or 2.1 setup it's simply incredible! 10/10
It's better than I'd hoped. I have two subs already plus room treatments in my square (Ugh!) 17 x16 room but obviously still had some room modes to tame. The Pro1000 absolutely did the trick. The entire presentation smoothed out, cleared up,and the bass tightened up.That app is the bomb! No more walking back and forth for minor adjustments. It took a just a few minutes of tweaking the crossover and volume to get a perfect blend, then on to the Q and EQ to fine tune.Mine is a simple two channel system - Cd,tube DAC,tube pre, tube amp, floor standers. Sounds fabulous now.Very highly recommended.
I was nervous about the size when removing them from the boxes as compared to the size of my Klipsch 10 inch sub being bigger. Hooked them up and was completely surprised on how hard/tight they hit for the size of the sub. Seems they don't work nearly as hard as the Klipsch did and make a deeper base overall. Not a boomy base but a punch base that's quick for action movies or for that matter music. I would say they are totally worth it and keeping the footprint small helps in a small room but don't be fooled they can fill a big room!! Excellent product by SVS and thanks for the shirt ??
Just got my PB-1000 dialed in and what a treat. Couldn't be happier with the performance and value, got on sale for $450.00. Using it with a pair of KEF Q350 and Rotel A12. I prefer a good tight punch rather than a Rumbling bass and this delivers. I have raised hardwood floors and the SVS Isolation feet make a huge difference.
Well packaged, easy to un-box, and dead simple to set up. They are physically smaller than the 10" ported subs they are replacing (but manage to dig way deeper.) I was excited to try the app, but concerned that the Bluetooth pairing would be goofy with two subs in the room. The pairing is a non issue and the software is solid and easy to use. The amount of control that I have (without leaving my listening position) is astonishing and they were easy to blend with my mains. The sound is musical and articulate. Highly recommended.
I absolutely love this sub. It’s has made a huge difference in the music I listen to, the low end is so much more detailed. And in movies the low end frequency response is very impressive. I can wait till I can gat my hand on a SB 4000
Paired with a set of Klipsch Fortes does a great job of filling in the bottom end where the Fortes roll off. The app works well enough, and it is nice to have different presets for music movies and I made a custom one for Vinyl that filters off most of the surface noise. The only thing that could have been better was to have an automated room gain compensation and parametric EQ. I used the TestHiFi app to get as close as I could and it turned out really well. Otherwise the sub was well packed, fast shipping, looks good and sounds great.
Phenomenal subwoofers ! Perfect match for my home theater. Look and perform great ! The black ash finish is beautiful ! These speakers provide the perfect amount of bottom end that my system was lacking. Customer service is amazing as well. Overall ....great experience ! Strong work ...SVS !
I decided I needed a subwoofer for my “legacy” stereo system so I did some research on what type and what brand. I kept reading good things about SVS so I decided to purchase a SB-1000 Pro. It arrived a week after I ordered it and was packed very securely. Instructions on set-up were easy to follow and I have now been enjoying my new addition for a week now. Being an old-codger I was a little leary of the SVS app to control the sub but that turned out to be easy-peasy. I’m very impressed with quality of the sub and the difference it’s made to my music system. I highly recommend SVS.
Great sounding for a small form factor sub. I wanted one to go lower than my 20yo JBL PSW-1000 could go and boy does it pay off. The Audessy setup calibration on my Denon AVR-x3700h dialed in both subs nicely. Fast shipping, responsive customer service and a solid rep, highly recommend SVS!
Amazing. Incredibly detailed, tight accurate bass. I am mainly using it for music paired with my KEF floor standing speakers. The app made it easy to blend it with the speakers so the sub just melts away. Easy to switch it to a movie mode preset when needed. I feel like the photos make the wood finish look way shinier than it really is, it looks much better in person and is much more subtle. The cabinet is fairly compact considering the 12 inch driver, which I love, as well as its rounded edges. Too many subs are giant ugly boxes. Also probably the best customer experience I have ever had with any product. No wonder people love SVS so much. They likely gained a customer for life (at least for subs, still love KEF)
I have had the subwoofer for about a week, and am amazed at how better my already good system sounds. The bass is deep, and yet very clean. I especially like the ease of setup, as well as the adjustments that can be made via my IPhone, or IPad.
For the price, and if you have a medium sized room, this subwoofer is great. I decided to add this to my current system for dual subs sound. Excellent decision as the bass is more uniform throughout my media room.
Surprisingly good subwoofer for the money. Best suited for music at normal listening levels. Amazing frequency range, went down to 18 Hz in my room (+- 3dB). I'm not aware of any other subwoofer that can compete at it's price point. SVS phone app is very useful to optimize subwoofer performance and joy to use.
I received my new SB-1000 Pro last week. FedEx left the package outside my gate. My wife saw it when she came home about 8 p.m. Someone might have stolen it because you can tell it's a sub-woofer or speaker from the picture of the box. Luckily everything turned out okay. I opened the box and it was packed in good order. I hooked it up with my Denon AVR-3802 which is 150W per channel. The Blue tooth App was easy to download and use even I am an old school guy. This SB-1000 Pro is to replace my 20 years old Velodyne which is a 10" forward firing woofer with a 12" down firing passive radiator. I found the SB-1000 pro is crisp and accurate for music listening. It blended in well with my over 20 years old Infinitive tower speakers. I have a room that is about 400 sq ft with a cathedral ceiling. For room-filling sound, I have to turn the volume to -8 . I enjoy listening to music or karaoke more than watching movies. When I turn the DSP to club or studio, I can feel a live band is in front of me while I am closing my eyes. The imaging is good and the music is so good. I am very happy with my decision. My old subs was about $700 twenty years ago. Imagine this SB-1000 with the blue tooth App for only $500. It is a steal! Wil K.
I used to have a regular low-tier subwoofer and my inexperienced ears thought it was decent. One of my best savvy buddies recommended the SB-1000 Pro right away when I told him my SW was acting out. I feel like I’ve been living life wrong all this time. Outstanding bass without necessarily making my entire house shake. The quality it’s just beyond comparison. Could not recommend enough. Also, SVS customer service is ridiculously good. They will answer any audio-related questions even though they are not related to SVS products.
I committed "sacrilege" by purchasing an SVS subwoofer to use with my new Magneplanar 3.7i's and "Maggie Bass Panel" (a sub supposedly will make the bottom end "sluggish" or "muddy" and ruin the planar speaker's fast and detailed sound.)
Man, and I glad I did! By operating only 20 - 30Hz (low-pass is 24dB/octave @ 30), they fill in the bottom-end perfectly and do not adversely alter the sound quality in any way. In fact: the illusion is that the ULTRA deep- -yet-detailed bass is coming from the "Maggies"!
Got it for a home theater / audiofile combo system for a room approx 18x18 sqft. It hits the low frequencies with that pleasant chest thumping sensation that I've been looking for since trying to set up my own system. Makes for a far better musical and movie experience than I had with my previous sub - no more rattling or booms. No matter how much I moved or eqd my previous subs, they just couldn't handle certain frequencies. The parametric eqs are great as they've let me listen in 2.0 pure mode while still tweaking bass response to make the speaker sub marriage smooth as possible.
Do not let the size of this sub fool you. It packs quite a punch. This thing is a little stick of dynamite! My living room is not very big and it sounds great. This is not a one note sub. Sounds great with music and slams hard for movies. Not a better sub for 500. Period!
Impressive bass and more than I bargained for. Read a lot of reviews of the SB vs. PB-1000 and most said the ported version was better for movies, which is the majority of my use, but the space I wanted the subwoofer in wouldn't fit the ported size. So I got the seald one and figured it might not be perfect sound wise but aesthetically better, but it's more than enough for my use and room! The app to adjust it with however could use some work. It does connect but it's not really obvious that it is and make for a bunch of unnecessary trouble shooting. When up and running it makes it real easy to adjust to your liking however. Which in the real world with real world ears (especially for deep bas...) basically is just volume... Another thing that would be an improvement would be a front facing LED or similar indicator the woofer is on and ready to rumble. Some people get bugged out about lights in their 'cinema' space so maybe an reversed light would be the way to go? Red when in stand-by that goes out when on.
Phenomenal sounding bass at an unreal price point. The control to dial it in for your particular system, and enough guttural power to shake a room! Didn't think you could get this kind of quality sub in this price range, well done SVS??
Fantastic sounding sub with music. I can't believe this is one of their lowest power models!
The musicality shines through in the performance. I'm using in a room much larger than they recommend, and I'm surprised how much rumble is still present in the room.
Looking forward to hopefully getting another next year.
Customer service has also been fantastic. I'd ordered another model previously that I realized within hours wasn't what I wanted, and SVS was quick to respond, very helpful in the return process, and stood behind their customer Bill of Rights. Amazed at both the company and products; SVS is one of the easiest technology recommendations I can make.
The equalizer allowed to change the sound effect to different tastes and I got to experience different tonality effects from a single sub! It’s like 100 different subs in one sub! Never had that option before and thanks for offering this great option and the sound quality that brings to two Chanel music system!
This SVS SB1000 PRO Replaced another brand that I purchased new and which larger but was often disappointing because it was attached to a system that was in my bedroom for my wife. She often complain thought that subwoofer was booming. With this SVS subwoofer which is now three in our home I am completely satisfied especially since my wife don’t complain.I highly recommend the SVS brand of speakers and subwoofer.
Small sub that packs a punch in my small living room.
The SVS SB-1000 PRO has just the right power and punch for my 11ft x 18ft living room. We live in a condo building. This single SB1000 Pro replaced my two (earthshaker brutes) Paradigm UltraCube 12's. I wanted a sub with a small physical profile, a sealed enclosure design (for less earth-shaking punch but maintain that low frequency capability - I call it nicely rounded bottom end), and high quality product from a reputable manufacturer. This product fits the bill nicely. Plus, it offers a bit more control features that my older Paradigm subs did not provide. Hook-up and Set-up of the SB1000 Pro was easy. I went through my AV Receiver's room calibration process. And, got the sub bass performance I wanted with lots of headroom to spare. I did purchase a set of isolation feet along with this sub so I can reduce the transmission of deep bass on the walls, ceiling, and floor. Now, I get deep controlled bass but I can still make things shake if I wanted to.
I used to be a DIY sub builder in my younger years and have experimented with many different designs from ported, bandpass, sealed, and passive radiator. Needless to say, it wasn't until I built the sealed sub for my car audio system that I really grew to appreciate sealed subs and the accuracy they provide. Note to mention they can play any genre of music if done right. I arrived at SVS 20+ years later and after buying several ported units for my home that left me dissatisfied. I had been eyeballing the SVS sub lineup for quite some time and always wondered if I spend just a little bit more would I be happy? Needless to say that is a definite YES! I wanted something in a small form factor that would fit where my Yamaha 8" subs were currently (my other 12" subs would not fit), but provide more output with the same accuracy. In came one SB 1000 pro and it sounded pretty good, but I could tell there were a few NULLS in the room just moving seat to seat. So my loving wife said well you have always run duals why don't you buy another one and see if that resolves the issue and besides it looks odd with one sub. Um OK, don't have to tell me twice! So I purchased a second SB 1000 Pro and now have one on each side of the media center on the front wall in a large room. How do they sound? Freaking awesome! I did a few sessions with REW and some minor DSP tweaks and now they are pretty darn flat from 20hz to 100hz where they roll off for the crossover. Do they have any output? Um yes! I'm am rattling the plates in the cupboard at 25hz and 35feet away. Oh, this is with the Soundpath Isolation feet installed as well! I can assure you that the sub is worth the $500 entry fee and if you don't like it SVS will take care of you!
Originally I purchased one. It wasn't long before I had to have a second one and by doing so my sound state and stereo spectrum improved quite noticeably. It is really amazing what this little boxes can do and everything you have heard about them is true.
Excellent sub very accurate reproduction of music and sounds without the unwanted fake sounding rumbling that covers up the real sound .Excellent product Excellent customer service what else could you ask for
