I have 1 (or 2)
I have 1 (or 2) of every damn speaker they make.
I couldn’t be happier with any phase of their operation, with the exception taken that their speakers should be made in the USA, period!

They’re USA designed/invented, USA Owned. They need to be USA made.

Get to work on it!

Returned: Great Amp, seriously flawed amp
Loved the build quality and power this amp provides, but I just couldn’t live with the flawed Play-Fi app, so much so that I ultimately returned the Soundbase (and the SVS Wireless speakers). Won’t reiterate everything I put in my review of the Wireless speakers, but suffice to say I found the Play-Fi app to be seriously lacking … would be happy to buy the Soundbase again if/when SVS develops their own app for these two products. Seriously SVS, your products are such high quality, don’t rely on a 3rd party software solution. Love the quality of all of my SVS Ultra speakers, same quality in these products, but …

On the plus for the price it's a nice little amp. The negative is the setup is buggy, It does not have any balance or tone controls and the constant flashing lights are annoying. Using the Alexa app is hit or miss.

Compact, versatile, lack of control
Reading about the SoundBase I couldn’t wait to get it, no that I’ve spent a few days with it … not all that impressed. I guess what really dampens my feelings about the SoundBase is the lack of control. Why didn’t SVS develop and supply a remote with this thing. The fact that I have to get up to change inputs, adjust volume, etc. is a real pain in the ass. I’ve downloaded the DTS Play-Fi app to my iPhone, but that app has issues of it’s own … following initial setup, which went pretty good, the app went downhill from there. I constantly get the spinning wheel if I’m streaming SiriusXM and then go to switch to another screen … the only thing that fixes that is shutting my phone down and restarting, extremely disappointing. The whole combination of a witty play-fi app and no remote … IDK, not happy with the whole experience so far. Same issues with the wireless speakers I just received as well … in both cases, I starting to regret the $1,100.00 I just spent on these two SVS products … both may be going back. Love my Ultra towers, etc., but this wireless SVS experience is leaving a lot to be desired.

Satisfied with its feature
It is my very first SVS product and its customer service has been fantastic. Courteous and knowledgeable of the product.
For the product itself, I only have few things that SVS to include in future models.
1) physical remote control: yes you can control the volume via playfi app however the motion is too abrupt. And for input selection purposes.
2) auto sensing of inputs: when you connect it via app, it automatically chooses wifi/internet and it returns to AUX as a default. I was hoping I can use it with my TV optical out however which means I need to manually select the input at the unit and volume control via either the playfi app or manual adjustment at the unit.

Maybe if cost makes sense:
1) Full 24/192 DAC
2) multiple digital inputs
3) dimming of rear Christmas lights (LAN lights flashes extremely bright. Personally I don't mind but it can be for some)

Other than that, it has been great. It is my very first streamer that I can use with Amazon music, qobuz, and my own music library. DTS playfi integration is sufficient in my opinion. Meaning yes I can ask for more but it is good enough for me to use without any issue (minus volume adjustment).
Overall it meets my expectations and purposes for bedroom use. Its power outputs are good for my Elac Debut bookshelf speakers and sounds good enough. It also has pre outs so expandability into a different poweramp or subwoofer is already provided.

An amazing device
I use my SoundBase primarily as a power amplifier. If amplification is all it did for this price and form factor, it is an amazing value. I love this product. The quality and a quantity of amplification is astounding in this size and price class. I do have a few recommendations for any future versions.

1) This thing lights up like a Christmas tree. I use mine in my bedroom and had to open the unit and place electrical tape over the LEDs and cover the big blue front panel to get any sleep. I'm proposing a dark mode with no lights other than perhaps a constant power light on the back of the unit.

2) Bass management - I love the subwoofer out, but to not be able to limit the bass frequencies being amplified and sent to my bookshelve is a bit of a let down considering how powerful this amp is and what SVS is know for.

3) Volume memory - When the power goes out this unit looses its last volume setting.

4) Volume level indicator, dB, %,number, graph, something to know how far I've got it turned up.

5) An optional physical remote would be a nice option. I get that you probably don't want to be an app company and create a remote app.

6) An EQ or Bass and Treble controls would be nice.

My setup: Alexa dot > Emotiva S8 subwoofer to add bass and limit output to +90Hz > SVS Soundbase > Emotiva B1+ Speakers.

The SoundBase amplification system was
The SoundBase amplification system was an excellent solution for an awkward great room layout, and not having the ability readily run in-wall speaker cables. The signal levels and sound clarity leveraging the SoundPath Tri-Band wireless audio adapters have been very impressive. There is on occasion a noticeable delay in sound activation to the surround speakers when the amp is activated from standby mode -- but we're talking negligible milliseconds here, so don't want to nitpick. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my SVS audio products, including a Prime Center speaker that does a much better job isolating dialogue than my original speaker. Thank you SVSound for coming up with a great wireless home audio/streaming/theater solution at a reasonable price point. Viva the continued sound evolution!!

It's a great device when it works but I do not recommend it.
I have had the Soundbase for 2 years now and while I like it, I am equally frustrated with it consistently loosing connection. I have it connected via ethernet cable directly to an Orbi satellite which has consistently excellent 5G signal according to the Orbi app. I stream music from Amazon prime and Sirius on an iPhone with Play-Fi app connected to my Wifi but the soundable looses connection on a regular basis. I have to reconnect, sometimes taking several minutes to recognize the Soundbase on the network again. I have troubleshooted it for two years now using all steps I can find on the SVS website and anywhere else I can find suggestions but it never improves. I can not get Apple iTunes to stream to the soundable at all. We have tried on 3 different phones with the same results.

I will be shopping for a new device to replace the Soundbase for next year pool season. Music should blend in without having to think about it rather than being constantly focused on because it continually stops playing. Unless something changes with it's performance within the next couple weeks when we close our pool for this season then I will retire it and install something else. I do not recommend purchasing the Soundbase unless you enjoy continually reconnecting to it to keep music playing while relaxing with your family/friends.

What is the power reserving when using 8-ohm speakers? I've read in several websites that the 150W x2 is for 4-ohm loads.
eespinosa on Dec 8, 2020
Thanks for your inquiry. We contacted SVS. As a Class D amplifier it is very stable driving speakers rated 4 ohms. For that reason they dont include an 8 ohm spec. They advised that driving an 8 ohm speaker the power is 100 watts per channel and stated further that a nominal 8 ohm speaker impedance curve drops to about 4 ohms within a given frequency range. A 4 ohm nominal speaker will have similar dips based upon frequency. The SoundBase is very stable into an 8 ohm speaker.
Can I use wired speakers, as well as wireless speakers, at the same time?
A shopper on Nov 27, 2018
This soundbase is intended for use with wired speakers. Since this unit uses DTS:Play-Fi for streaming capability, it can be incorporated into a DTS:Play-Fi whole home audio system which can include Play-Fi enabled wireless speakers. For more information about Play-Fi, speak with a representative at 866-961-7781
Does this have a headphone output?
A shopper on Feb 22, 2021
Thanks for your inquiry. The SVS SoundBase includes a 3.5mm headphone jack on the front panel below the Volume knob.
150 watts, but that's for one using two eight-ohm speakers. So in reality that's about 75 watts for one using two eight-ohm speakers? Am I correct? The vast majority of speakers made today are eight-ohm. Just want to be sure. Please advise
A shopper on Dec 13, 2018
The manufacturer specifies the amplifier at 150 watts for each channel into 8 ohms
