Product Information

Accurate, Convincing, High-End Sound

From the moment you feel the weight of the Prime Satellite Speaker, it becomes clear that no other satellite speaker has ever offered this level of audiophile design, high-end components, and precise build quality. Jets thunder through the sky. Bullets graze your ears. Prime Satellite Speakers simply outclass the tiny and tinny surround speakers designed to be more form than performer. These speakers revolutionize the concept of sound speakers - in fact, they employ many of the same components as their bigger brothers in the Prime and Ultra lines.

Strategically placed, Prime Satellite Speakers create awe-inspiring realism and seamless sonic transitions from front-to-back and side-to-side. When the lights dim and the score fades in, they flood your room with dynamic audio realism and action. Painstakingly voiced and sonically matched, Prime Satellite Speakers are designed to blend with SVS towers, bookshelves, or in a system all their own for endless listening possibilities.

SVS Drivers Extreme Performance and Uncompromised Fidelity

Leveraging design and technology from the SVS Ultra family, the Prime Satellite Speakers feature high-quality drivers and crossover components simply not found anywhere else in this segment.

1” Aluminum Dome Tweeter

The 1" aluminum dome tweeter, which is light, efficient, and rigid, provides high SPL (Sound Pressure Level) with minimal distortion and the sense of utter transparency. It deploys a Finite-Element-Analysis (FEA) optimized diffuser to ensure the tweeter only has the perfect on-axis and off-axis frequency response. That way, everyone in your listening room gets the best performance. Likewise, since SVS shares these design traits with both the Prime and Ultra speakers, both product lines can blend well with one another while offering that SVS hallmark 'airy' presentation and incredibly unveiled highs.

4.5” Woofer

SVS built their groundbreaking new 4.5” bass woofer on an all-new cast ABS-fiberglass composite basket for precise component alignment and an inert frame without resonances or added harmonics. Like all of the other drivers in the Prime family, the polypropylene cone is light and rigid to give a flat frequency response and the SPL necessary to keep up with the other drivers. Like all of the other woofers in the Prime and Ultra series, the 4.5” woofer uses aluminum shorting rings for reduced distortion, and vented voice coil formers to keep the motor assemblies cool during high SPL playback. For enhanced bass extension, the cabinet is rear-ported and tuned perfectly for the 4.5" woofer.

SoundMatch Crossover Intelligently Designed for Your Listening Room

SVS's exclusive SoundMatch crossover sports premium-grade capacitors, air-core inductors, and heavy-trace printed circuit boards. All of these high-quality components yield lower distortion, tighter tolerances, better heat dissipation, and all around better sound. The 2-way crossover is uniquely tuned so each driver can blend perfectly each other while offering the best on and off-axis response. Likewise, by virtue of using a dedicated midrange driver, vocals are preserved perfectly and presented naturally and clearly for all dialog in center channel soundtracks.

Superior 2.1 system
I replaced a very old pair of Infintessimals along with the matched Infinity 10" sub. The Prime Satellites and SB-1000 sub were a sound choice. (Pun intended). I auditioned several name brand 2.1 systems and SVS cleaned house with top marks in performance, style and finish, customer care and support. A few months back when the internal amp on the Infinity sub started buzzing, I picked up the SB-1000 through the outlet store at a slight discount but paid full price for the satellites. So 4 stars because of the cost. I am not disappointed with the kit in any way. Just a bit of sticker shock.

Not for media room
The speakers are not definitely for media room setup. They are more of a personal speakers than for a media room.

The sound no where compares to Bose speakers.

If you are planning to use it for media room, maybe go for higher model like prime bookshelf or ultra.

Extremely Impressed
First off, I couldn't believe how heavy these little speakers are. We are talking proper studio monitor weight. I'm using 5 satellites with 2 SB-1000s and a Denon S660H 5.1 receiver. The system sounds fantastic! Really big sound. Great imaging, great clarity, smooth steering and of course tons of low end from those subs. I'm very pleased with my SVS purchase.

Instantly worth the investment!
Shipping was great, fast and easy. Packaging is clearly a priority as none of my items were damaged and were well protected. The speakers are very solid in build quality, and sound great as well. Despite their smaller size, they put out a lot of quality audio. Very happy with my purchase

Frugal Satellite-Based 7.2.4 System
Over the years, I've learned to tailor my Home Theater purchases in a balanced way considering weight, specs, and cost. I've always bought the biggest and best within a 12k budget. But my latest system reflects a refinement that excludes extremely expensive, heavy speakers with blistering volume capacity. I outgrew my desire to reproduce the concussion of a nuclear detonation in my 14'x18' Home Theater room :-).

My system; Yamaha Atmos receiver (RX-A3050-Factory Refurb $900 Accessories-4-Less), Front: SVS Prime Bookshelf (2), Center: SVS Prime Center (1), Surround: SVS Prime Satellite (8), Subs: SVS SB12-NSD (2). I also use a Class D 65w/ch amp (Aiyima A07 $65 Amazon) for Rear Surround channels. All SVS products were purchased new. I also have a Panasonic UB820 Ultra Blu-ray player and 77" LG OLED.

I was able to keep my SVS purchase to around 5k with the Prime Speaker system and subs. I wanted the mains to be matched to the Prime Center drivers, hence the Prime Bookshelves. Having the matched Prime Satellites was also important to me. My first SVS system purchased 20 years ago was a very heavy $7000 Cherry Wood 5.2 system that I loved, but it had become too heavy for me to keep.

I can say with confidence that a 7.2.4 SVS Prime system offers stunning atmospherics across the audio spectrum as long as you don't skimp on mains and subs. If you're concerned about enough SPL for your taste, I would point you to larger subs, then to larger mains, then to separates for more wattage. For me, it's not necessary with my small room.

Last night I received the final piece to my system and watched Moonfall in Atmos and the SVS system delivered a totally immersive, stunning, and impactful experience that was immensely satisfying to watch! I can always depend on SVS to provide quality and excellent customer service.

Great. Would like to purchase the front left and right towers next. So much for the speakers built in the wall!

Big sound in a little package...
The Prime satellite speaker is well made and has great output for average listening rooms using any decent receiver. The physics of this speaker preclude it from being full range, so you should consider carefully what you are pairing them with. To get the crack of snare drum you need a punchy 6.5" midrange between your sub and a satellite for precise reproduction. With 11.2 systems buying full range speakers for all channels is costly, difficult to place and just not practical for most people. In my opinion using full range speakers for your Center, Front, and Surround channels and Satellites for your Back, Front and Rear Presence channels is perfect practical set up for superb sound. I purchased the Prime Bookshelf's as my mains to start with dual subs and 4 satellites in my 7.2 system. I just upgraded to a new 11.2 Aventage Yamaha and today I purchased an additional pair of Prime satellites and plan to run 9.2 until I have the funds to complete my set up with a pair of Prime Towers for my new mains. The bookshelf pair will be moved to the surround channel. Most program material is output through the Center, Front and Surround channels that will all be full range Prime speakers and the other 6 channels will be Prime satellites.

Great speakers and excellent customer support
I'm not an audiophile. I've been accused of it, and I've gone to arbitration and paid a large settlement, but it turns out I am not an audiophile. Anyway, I initially purchased four of the satellites, the prime center channel, and the SB-1000 subwoofer for a 5.1 home theater setup. This is a huge upgrade from the HTIB setups that I've had in the past. For movies and TV, this setup is just about perfect for me. But, I saw that the prime bookshelves were available on clearance, and thought that they might sound a little better when listening to 2-channel music. So, I decided to upgrade the front L/R channels and keep two of the satellites for the rear channels. SVS handled the return of the two satellites with ease and quickly sent out a refund. Being from Pittsburgh, I'm glad to support a (somewhat) local company, and I would definitely recommend any of the prime speakers.
