The world’s most versatile high performance home theater speakers, SVS's Prime Elevation Speakers deliver stunning performances as uncompromised, full-range height effects speakers and as a multi-purpose home theater speakers that solve countless room placement issues.
Exciting new surround sound formats such as Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Auro 3D, known as “object-based surround sound”, unleash the ultimate immersive movie, music, and gaming experience by incorporating “height effects” emanating from overhead. The Prime Elevation Speakers are at an optimal height that radiates full-range sound to the listener without the frequency response limitations and perfect room conditions required of prevailing “ceiling bounce” height effects speaker designs.
Prime Elevation Speakers are also remarkably versatile, multi-purpose home theater speakers that deftly play the role of front, center, side surround, rear surround, and/or LCR speaker when ideal placement in a room isn’t possible.
SVS Takes Object-Based Surround Sound to New Heights
Home theaters running height channel speakers with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Auro-3D represent the pinnacle of immersive home audio experiences. The prevailing approach to height effects speakers, bouncing sound off the ceiling from below, requires perfect room conditions and frequency response limiting of the speaker, which detracts from the overall experience.
An audio epiphany, the Prime Elevation line is a direct radiating height effects speaker concept with the charged dynamics, pinpoint accuracy, and subtle refinement of a high-end bookshelf speaker. Place these speakers high on a wall near the ceiling, and object-based surround sound can be enjoyed at full fidelity in any room, without the compromises of ceiling bounce or in-ceiling speakers. Finally, you get to enjoy a height effects speaker designed for breath-taking effects.
The specially optimized angled front baffle, precisely tuned acoustics, high-end components, and innovative multi-angle wall bracket all combine to make the Prime Elevation Speakers the world's most versatile home theater speakers. Ingeniously engineered to address a multitude of room challenges, the Prime Elevation series is the perfect solution for imperfect room placement options.
Innovative Multi-Angle Wall Bracket for Easy Mounting Software
Since Prime Elevation Speakers are often mounted on a wall, SVS invented a no-fuss Multi-Angle Wall Bracket for hanging them in any of four directions: up or down-firing, and side or rear-firing. The world’s most versatile speaker deserves an equally flexible mounting solution so you get the best sound quality in any room, no matter how or where you decide you use your Prime Elevation.

Just hooked them up as a two channel stereo. Was very pleased with there sound.I intend to use them as back channel speakers in a 7.1 configuration and at a later time move them plus two more to overhead- Atmos. Great Speakers!
Over the past 2 months I've ordered and installed 2 sets of these Prime Elevations for Atmos. What a difference! These are a huge upgrade over the old Def Tech PM1000's that I had pressed into service for this role. I absolutely love the way they installed (easy), the way they look, and most importantly what they do to the sound field. Even my wife was impressed with the sound, so a win all around. Along with a pair of Prime Surrounds I picked up earlier this year (also great), these were my first SVS purchase since picking up a pair of PC-12 Plus subs back in 2009 (which still rock the house). Very impressed with what SVS continues to offer - thank you!
I am using 2 pairs of Prime Elevation in my dolby atmos setup as ceiling speakers seeing as though i wanted to use a full range speaker and not skimp out..sound quality is superb and the included mounting bracket is very robust..
I had already owned one pair of Prime Elevation speakers for rear surrounds so it was a no brainer to buy 4 more when I setup a new home theater room. I have owned SVS speakers for 7+ years and will buy SVS again in a future upgrade. Top notch produce along with great service!
I wanted some wall mounted height speakers that are not too big. The SVS Prime Elevation is the perfect size! Installation was a breeze with the supplied hardware and template. It took no more than 10 minutes each and I was up and running. They sound awesome as Atmos speakers. I have the crossover set at around 90-100Hz, and they give the perfect height effects with very defined sounds.
The sound is good but not great and I am comparing it to the Klipsch 500sa which I find very open, punchier and clearer. The Elevation for some reason seems to throw a bit of crackle like sound for high frequencies sometimes, so can't really give it a 5. The installation options is what won my heart, you can literally place it anywhere. If I want to install on ceiling, I would probably go for Elevation again, but any other configuration on wall or on fronts/back then the Klipsch 500sa is a clear winner on sound.
So far are quite pleased with these speakers, have all four mounted on ceiling of dedicated AV room (~13x19') but due to canted ceiling (runs from 6.5' tall on right side to 11' on left) was only able to use the supplied mounts on right side speakers, the left side speakers required mounts with more articulation as ceiling slope was in wrong direction for correct orientation but mounting these speakers on the third party mounts was fairly straight forward due to their 1/4" threaded inserts. I ceiling mounted these speakers to get the optimal angles between other speakers in my room to facilitate proper panning between speakers (I run a 6.2.4 system, do not use center channel as my virtual center is quite good).
I do a lot of research before buying. I wanted height speakers for Atmos and movies. I had gone to an SVS show at Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha and was very impressed with SVS speakers. The build quality is top notch, the shipping is fast and they just do business the way everyone should do, but.... obviously, I'm very happy with my purchase.
Amazing little speaker. I've used them in my theater setup in my master bedroom as Elevation speakers, Front left/right speakers, Rear surround speakers and currently as my surround speakers in a 5.1 system. They don't need much power (currently just using a receiver with maybe 50 watts per channel). Getting ready to add Tower speakers to my setup and graduating these little guys too the Big room downstairs as the rear surround left/right speakers. Highly recommend them. You won't be disappointed.
I purchased 4 Elevations at Best Buy (BB) last year and these are the best surrounds I've ever used - and I've had many. This review is more about customer service than speakers. A week ago I thought my Denon 3700H avr (year old) bit the dust because listening at 65dB or more caused error message: Speaker Activation Mode [on.] Troubleshooted with Denon cust srvc by unplugging all speakers and then hooked up speakers one at a time discovering that one of the Elevations was the problem. Contacted SVS sales to order a new one, because BB only sells pairs. Once I explained what happened, and thinking I'd be on the hook for $300.00, they said they would swap the 'bad' one for a new one at no charge. If all companies modeled SVS cust srvc, they would do well. Kudos and thanks to Ryan Farmer and Ed Mullen. Over the years I've e-mailed Ed Mullen dozens of times and he's always responded quickly and professionally. His audio knowledge always amazes me. Thanks again guys. PS to Gary. Give them all a raise.
I took a very big risk considering the price per speaker and the fact that I never heard them. When they arrived I noticed they had some substance to them. They were packed with care. Then I connected them as my front Atmos Speakers, and watched a plain Blu-ray Disc “Bourne 5 Jason Bourne” DAMMMM, THE CROWD SCENE WHEN THE TOWNS PEOPLE STARTED THROWING MOLOTOV COCKTAILS. That scene was so immersive I felt like I was in the middle of the the crowd. These are great speakers. And I’ll be ordering the Bookshelf Primes once I save up for them, but for now I am VERY glad I chose the SVS Prime Elevations.
Even though these are a bit more that the competition, I feel these are the best investment I have made in my home theater. They are an amazing addition to my 11.2 setup! I replaced 3 pairs of Polk OWM3 in my setup with these SVS Prime Elevation speakers. After hours of research and YouTube videos, I’m very happy that I took the chance on these speakers. Installing each pair was a breeze with the included installation guide and included hardware. I had them up in minutes. And, I’m amazed at how matched they are to my other speakers. The OWM3’s seemed flat and nonexistent, where the SVS Prime Elevation’s are present in every form of media I throw at them, be it stereo, Atmos and everything in between. I couldn’t be happier!
Went from 5.1 to 5.1.2 and the improvement was immense!
I had a 5.1 system and wanted to upgrade to Atmos; however, due to the odd configuration of my home theatre, I wasn't sure if I could upgrade to 5.1.2. Atmos 5.1.4 was out of the question because of the home theatre's physical configuration. I decided to ask SVS for advice and was provided with excellent suggestions and information by Doug D. Based on Doug's response and the instructions included with a pair of Prime Elevations, I easily mounted one Prime Elevation on each of the side walls near the ceiling. The mounting hardware and included instructions made it very easy to wall-mount the Elevations. After installation, I re-ran my receiver's room calibration and was rewarded with an immense upgrade in sound. The movie and music are much more immersive and engaging. Anyone who can upgrade to a 5.1.2 or 5.1.4 system should do it. After hearing the results with my 5.1.2 system, I can't imagine going back to 5.1.
I replaced my old Definitive Technology 5.1 system with a SVS 5.1.4 system. Ultra Center (1) Ultra Bookshelves (2) Prime Elevation (2 Surround, 4 Atmos) SB3000 Subwoofer (1) My system sounds amazing. It works well with music and movies. Thank you SVS for everything you do.
Excellent sound, blends well with Ultra Towers and Surrounds
The available piano gloss black finish of the Prime Elevation matches the Ultra Towers and Surrounds perfectly. Looks beautiful. Mounting on the wall is never going to be easy, but SVS has seemingly done everything possible to reduce the difficulty. The included bracket system and the template are excellent. I recommend right-angle banana plugs, they worked for me. I suppose spade connectors would have worked also. Regular banana plugs will not work, they stick out too far. My first pair of Prime Elevation are in service as Front Height for Atmos. I'm in the process of installing two more for Rear Height and upgrading the entire system from 5.2.2 to 7.2.4 with Ultra towers, Ultra Center, 4 Ultra Surrounds and 2 PB-4000's. Obviously I've been very happy with SVS speakers and customer service.
I have 6 of these for rear surround and front and rear height. Sides are 2 Prime satellites, fronts are 2 Ultra bookshelf, Ultra center and 2 SB300. My fault that I discovered after installing the two rear heights that I need an extra amp for the Yamaha RX 3080 but I am working on that now. I am by no means an audiophile and this system is almost completely for films. If others want to debate the merits of one speaker company or product over another I applaud their convictions. I can only say from numerous occasions regarding questions that you would be hard pressed to find any company that offers this prompt and unexcelled support! The help and the speed at which you get it is just plain peerless. I probably should keep names private but today I had questions on setting up that separate amp for the rear heights. The answers were easy to understand for someone who is not that familiar with audio. The real topper was that the person helping me was able to refer to the exact page numbers in my Yamaha RX 3080 manual when describing the steps to follow. Beat that!
Designed for height mounting, any other location poor mounting design
These sound fine, no complaints with that which is what you want. As for mounting them that’s were improvement is needed. I purchased 4 pairs. Two pairs mounted as height speakers. The main issue, as many other reviews point out, is the inability to use banana or other types of easy connections. There is no room. Designers could have made the connections parallel to the back so there would be room. Standing on a ladder holding the speaker trying to screw in the wires, come on. For surrounds same issue but your not on a ladder. Should have a different bracket when used on wall so they don’t wobble when mounted sideways. Universal bracket master of none.
This is my second pair of Prime Elevation speakers (they’re that good) to upgrade my system to a 7.2.4 Atmos surround system and these additional Prime Elevations just put the icing on the cake! Having quality speakers overhead is the only way to go if you truly want to experience realistic atmospheric surround sound from movies.
Long story short, I wanted to de-clutter my smaller basement home theater, with only about 8.5 ft of width in the room my bookshelf speakers and center and the stands they sat on ate a good chunk of my space. I also have a 2 year old who loves to mess with said speakers and decided to look for other options. I was not a huge fan of the in wall stuff but stumbled on these from SVS. I already owned a PB 12 NSD from 2006 that has never failed me in the last 16 years of ownership so I was not worried about the quality. I have these installed above my 65" as LCRs and really love the results. My only gripe is that they should have optional mounting plates for toe in on my L/R , but even without that the sound is great and no more issues with my recliner cutting off the center channel audio when the feet are raised.
I already love these speakers. All my speakers are now from SVS and the difference in sound is astounding. My previous setup was al Polk speakers which at the time I though sounded great. Then I leaned od SVS and bought their subwoofer. From there the front speakers, and now I have SVS satelites as my side surrounds and the elevations as my back surrounds/ATMOS. Even my wife has noticed a huge difference from the previous speakers. EVERYTHING, sounds better now. Thanks SVS.
These are the most versatile speakers I have used. the mounting system is fantastic. With a sub these can be used for a complete seven channel system,. because they sound that good. I used these to replace my Monitor Audio rear surrounds. The new SVS Ultra center channel speaker in my system has convinced me to upgrade my entire system with SVS speakers
Great quality, using as a Atmos speaker, superb and easy to fit on wall, with template and all the fixings, This is my second set of elevation speakers in a 7.1.4 set up (sub is a SB2000 Pro which is immense) Just so totally impressed with all SVS products. Not so impressed with the MASSIVE price increase as of early October 2021, about a 25% increase. Fortunately I was able to buy these second set of Elevation speakers at the old price, it was the last one available, not sure I would have paid the new price. It seems to me either SVS had their pricing structure wrong before or they are now being greedy that the only reasons I can see for such a massive price hike
I Turned My 2 car garage into A/V Room, I'm retired so all the work was done by me, at the lowest cost possible. I was using vintage amps and speakers in my home theater set up but finally moved up to a new 7.2.4 amp. it sounded OK..... Nothing to compare it to ! I saw the SVS Pinnacle Prime speakers on You Tube and was impressed, So I bought Two and one center speaker.....WOW... what a difference in the sound quality !!!! Figured I'd better keep improving, so I purchased The Prime Elevation and prime Satellite for the surround side and rear. AGAIN... What a Difference..... Great Sound at a Great price, Ron Holmes In Washington State
This is my 3rd pair of SVS Prime Elevations. I use them as my surround -due to an open floor plan. The last two pairs are used as front heights and rear ceiling for ATMOS. I’ve been a loyal fan of SVS since 2009. Fantastic customer service and technical support.
Just finished installing these speakers…long runs into the high ceiling. Wow! I was missing out on the full rich sound even though I thought I was satisfied. I described the sensation as being in the matrix of blissful joyous music. Thanks to son Robert who persuaded me to get the prime elevation speakers. My New AVR is a NAD 758, fronts are B&W’s 683/S2 and SVS 2000 cylinder woofer and matching B&W center. Next step is room calibration! I want to thank the SVS staff for their first class customer service through some returns I had with my woofer buzz/hum noise. In the end it was actually an issue issue with my older NAD. I confessed the issue and they said it was all good. Great team work!
Currently using for rear back surrounds in a 7.1 setup. The sound is accurate and has a good wide dispersion for this purpose. Will consider moving these as side heights or just purchasing another pair later for that purpose.
Prime Elevation Speakers - Pair (Premium Black Ash)
This is my second pair. I added these in place of an old set of Paradigm Adp370 dipoles.. I could not be happier as I bought the first pair for my Dolby Atmos front height speakers . I will be purchasing another pair to replace the rear wall surround very soon. My whole system is SVS .. with the ultra center and ultra fronts too. And a pair of SVS PB3000 subs.
The best all around speaker; whether mounted on a wall or ceiling, you will never find a speaker so versatile. And let's not forget the price; which is more than reasonable. I purchased 3 pair of elevation speakers and looking forward to purchasing the Ultra series. SVS supplies all your needs in every purchase. A home grown company....love their products and customer service. Look no further SVS has you covered
