SVS PB-2000 Pro 12" Ported Subwoofer (Black Ash)

I just upgraded my old Elemental Designs 12" 200W sub to the SVS PB-2000 Pro and it was a great decision. The bass the SVS can put out is rich, deep, and room filling. I have a Denon receiver with Audyssey XT calibration and it certainly makes this sub shine. I didn't use the SVS app since Audyssey XT is superior for calibration/tuning. I'd surely recommend this sub to anyone that wants good value for a sub in the 500W and 12" driver category. It's not a fancy looking cabinet but I don't care about that. My only complaint is that there are two small gashes in the exterior cabinet corners from damage during shipping. It has no impact on the sound but I wish UPS would take more care with packages that are clearly audio equipment. I won't be exchanging it since I don't really mind too much, just slightly annoying.

Impressive product and superior customer service. Very fast to respond to any questions and even gave me a free pair of isolation plugs.

Can't watch a movie or sport event without the PB-2000 Pro.

A little bit of a learning curve but, all around great sound. I've had a pair for a few years and use them with the svs cable to my Yamaha Aventage. I don't experience any of the feedback that some people complain about amp noise. Although they do have me wanting more at times. I wish I went with PB-3000.

I'm writing this just in case someone else is considering pairing these two. The specs are largely the same between the PC and PB but they don't sound the same. More to the point, they will sound different depending on your room and their placement. The PC doesn't love corners, at least in my somewhat odd room, whereas I had better luck with the PB in the corner and after some trial and error I found the PC works best against my front wall, away from a corner. Absolutely love both of these - hard to pick a fave, and since I couldn't decide which ones I wanted to go with I just got one of each and together they're awesome. Besides the placement ease of the PC, the other reason for purchase of both of these was the app's flexibility, which really helped sort out some room gain issues and mellowing a peak. Plus the ability to quickly flip phase/polarity helped. Honestly, I don't think I could ever go back to fiddling with knobs on the back of my sub. 

Also I think it's hilarious when reviewers rave about walls rattling and all that. Any subwoofer can accomplish that if pushed hard enough. I love being able to fine tune both my subs from the MLP so I'm hearing the cleanest, non-boomy bass lines possible, which typically translates to the perfect balance of fidelity and slam when watching movies or playing videogames. My son and I played a "Skewers and SPNKrs" big team battle on Halo and it was just constant low end joy. It sounds like there's an actual battle happening in my basement.

I have had my dual PB-2000 Pro subs for almost a month. The bass sounds amazing if I am listening to music or watching a movie. I came to the SVS website because of all the great reviews of the quality of sound you get with SVS. I became a lifetime customer because of the amazing customer service and support that SVS offers. Jonathon from SVS answered so many questions from me pre purchase and then did a video conference with me to help finalize my setup. I was really impressed with the company, their policies and their customer service. Highly recommend.

Love the pb 2000 pro

Upgraded from a 1000 pro to the 2000 pro and Holy cow this thing hits. It blends in with my prime towers much better than the 1000 did, I didn't expect that because the 1000 was already so good. If you have the space I highly recommend

Plays low and can get loud. Both are accompanied by port chuffing that my polk sub at the same level didn’t exhibit. This is after a faulty driver was replaced

My setup: Denon BT520 + Towers Monitor Audio Bronze 6 and I have had for my past 16 years old sub Infinity SW12 500 rms 26hz.
I had a problem placing that old sub in the room to get that ( u know :D ) "feel" of the WOOF and I know he can do that ... but when PB-2000 pro came I did place it in a random place and I turned on and Sub didn't care where he stands he was filling my room with soft,clean, deep, fast,on point bass.
This sub delivers another layer of experience to your favourite song/movie when you FEEL that drop under 25hz its just something that u have to experience for yourself :D
For some it can be a lot of money I know that and believe me I've heard how my wallet was crying ... but it's worth it!!

If this will help you try to use that immortal formula - think that buying this sub will complete your setup and it is your passion/hobby that you really enjoy and you know that u won't change a thing for at least 5 years so let's do the math together:
Sub costs 999$ in 5 years we have 1825 days so now 999/1825 = 0.54cents per day - so I am quite sure u can afford this amount daily for your hobby huh ?:D

I got this sub as an “upgrade” for my 12” krk studio sub hoping to use it for multiple purposes after talking to some of the SVS sales reps about how much better and more powerful it would be.
For home theatre, this sub would be great. It’s powerful and looks nice. As far as quality, it doesn’t even compare to the quality of the krk I had. It’s more comparable to an entry level PA sub than a nice studio sub. I would describe it as having big, but low quality sound.

Experience was great. Very fast communication and very fast shipping. Price was very good as it being a outlet item and condition was superb. Going from the PB12-NSD was a very nice improvement and I'm glad I did. Also the phone app is a nice touch. Warranty, custom service, and performance is why I went with Svs and will continue to.

I am pleased with my SVS experience! Every front.

These subs are fantastic. I’m coming from a dual sub setup before these, but their ability to really dig deep is really incredible. I like the idea of the DSP built into the amp/sub, but unless your room/sub needs very little correction, I’d still recommend getting a DSP along with these bad boys. Absolutely wonderful experience from buying to setup to enjoyment. John and Ryan in customer service are exceptional at what they do.

Happy to have these big upgrades to my prior Subs. Customer service helped out on a few items and questions - as usual. Always great to work with the CS staff

The package damaged seriously

I've had my PB-2000 sub about a year now, and it works flawlessly with the SoundPath Adapter. The distance between the transmitter and the receiver is about 20 feet, and the sub is in an open concept living room/kitchen area open to a mud-room and front entrance foyer with sloping roof. It has no trouble filling this large 25 x 40 foot space with precise and loud bass, without boom or distortion. I love the way the app allows fine detailed control over several parameters, it really makes getting a great sound easy. The SoundPath was quite literally plug and play, no fiddling necessary and no latency that I can notice. I could not be happier with this sub and sound, and would recommend SVS subs to everyone.

1st off, I have to say SVS is a premier company... I originally tried 2 PB1K'S but after a couple of weeks decided to upgrade to the PB2K'S.... A massive difference in performance! I strongly recommend SVS and will continue to purchase their wonderful products for years to come!

I upgraded from a Polk PSW505 to dual PB 200 Pros and it was a word of a difference. Not only do I now get the couch-shaking power that others have mentioned, but I can also hear bass is now more refined. I can hear details in them that I previously didn't. The purchase process and speed are also phenomenal. I ordered online on a Thursday morning and they were on my doorstep by Saturday afternoon. Once I had it set-up, the first thing I did was watch Blade Runner on Netflix. My wife who was upstairs started to panic as she thought there was an earthquake.

This sub rocks!! It does everything I was wanting for and more. SVS customer service is top notch!

This sub is a beast! I have this sub paired with my PB2-ISD and sounds incredible with music and movies. If you have a small to medium size room you can't go wrong with the PB2000 PRO.

I am a musician who has been looking for as close as I can to a reference sub to compliment my Yamaha HS50m studio monitors for critical listening/mixing applications (these speakers also double as our home theatre system). I currently own an SB2000 Pro which has been absolutely phenomenal, however due to the the massive 12,000 cu feet of my high ceiling loft, it just couldn't put out much below 30Hz, and didn't carry throughout the room enough to feel the bass after stepping more than a few feet away. I purchased this PB-2000 Pro due to the recommendation of an SVS staff member I spoke with over the phone to go with a ported design due to the sheer size of my room. As expected, the PB performed very well in the power department as well as extending quite a bit deeper. However, the combination of the size and weight was really difficult for me to manage, and more importantly, the overall response and blend with my main speakers was just not as clean as accurate as I'd come to expect from my SB-2000 Pro. This is not a knock against the PB, this was my first ported sub, and I think I just personally prefer the sound and response of sealed subs for my use case, hence my 5 star review. I think this would definitely be an awesome sub for most people & I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for monstrous low end authority that can deal with the size & weight.

Im no audiophile, so when I sought advise via Audioholics and AVS forums on how to fill this large living area with sufficient bass the general consensus was ‘go big w duel PB-3000’s. As it happens, a single PB-2000 was more than enough deep wall shaking, window rattling bass to fill this space. Very surprised with the power of the sub. I have a connected open-galley-kitchen too, with not one but two open doorways—as well as a pass-thru window opening. Just a massive space, and this PB-2000 is up to the task. 18’ foot cathedral ceiling, all this area; completely dominated by the sub. By the way, Steven at SVS is about as kind a human being there ever was. Really, all those guys over there! PB-2000, wholeheartedly recommended for large areas.

Monster lfe brings out movie soundtrack s to a whole new level never loses composure svs have done it again

Bought this for a theater room I am having built. Hooked it up in my man cave until theater is done so it is currently being used in a dual setup with my PB 12 NSD. Had to drop the gain a fair amount so it wasn't overpowering the 12. This sucker has shake your couch levels of low frequencies but never sounds boomy or out of control.

I have done a good bit of research and was teetering on the edge between 1 PB-2000 or dual PB-1000s. I decided to go with the 2000 because I can get a second one if I feel it is lacking but wow..does it have some kick. I primarily watch movies and play video games and I wanted the full engulfment in the film or game with excellent, accurate sound. This sub provides and it seems like it is not even trying. While watching A Quiet Place II, the initial crash or landing of the aliens was the best part. It almost sounded like thunder but the replication made by the subwoofer was incredible. It was a constant bass sound that fluctuated frequencies throughout the part. The bass was not boomy and you could hear it more than you feel it. Many other great moments ahead with the subwoofer. The app for enhanced control is great, the build quality is perfect. The headroom on the sound is insane, I don't think I will ever get close to max volume with this sub. If I really wanted to be picky, I would say the only thing that could be improved is to just include the isolation feet from the start with the purchase rather than buying separately. Besides that, I could not think of a single thing to change. It was hard to spend this much money on a subwoofer (I am used to the <$300 subwoofers), but I am glad I did. This will hopefully last a long time and I will enjoy the sound I get from it for years to come! Also, the box came pretty heavily damaged from FedEx. Thankfully, SVS puts lots of protection in their packaging and the subwoofer was unharmed. I will definitely be purchasing a second subwoofer to cancel any standing waves and really fill the room with bass in the future.

So far everything is 100 percent great. I had the SB 1000 and was happy with it’s performance but it lacked the IPhone app control so if I wanted to change the volume or other features, I had to more or less stand on my head to get to the controls on the back of the sub. The phone app is a snap to use and would highly recommend this model.

I’ve owned and loved SVS products for over a decade now, first populating my HT system with the original SC-01 and SB-01 line of speakers with a PB12-NSD sub. I eventually upgraded to the newer Prime channel and Prime Pinnacle towers and most recently decided to finally retire my beloved PB12-NSD in favor of dual PB-2000 Pro’s. I’ve had the new subs installed now for just over a week, let them break in a bit then re-calibrated my whole system. And WOW… the difference two subs makes in not only evening out the bass response but just the sheer visceral “rumble the seat” feeling is incredible! I am always proud to showcase m SVS system for friends and family when they come over but now I’m really excited to show them what it’s capable of. World class products matched only by world class customer service. I’ll remain a loyal customer and owner forever! There is literally no reason to consider alternatives.

the first one was excellent but definitely needed higher volume as was suggested initially for my room 15x16x10. i thought of going one step higher with PB 3000 or 4000 instead of this one but then settled with 2000 pro with the idea or adding another sub later. it made a hell of a difference with the second one paced diagonally. now even at low volumes i can see the difference when watching movies. no wonder why everyone who has 2 subs always suggest that way. once you hear it you will not go back. also the sound is very clean and deep and doesn't feel flat.

I had some very nice Klipsch subwoofers but I purchasing the dual PB 2000 pros. Now I’m in the major leagues! These subs are awesome! The SVS app is also very user-friendly.

Precise sound, extreme low thunder surrounding bass great for movies and great for music. Just spot on, can’t say enough about customer service team dealing with me for hours debating and planing out my room and set up. The best subs and company I’ve dealt with hands down

This PB-2000 Pro is the second subwoofer I have purchased from SVS. I'll try to sum up my opinions of the PB-2000 first. Then for those that wish to read further about my experience with SVS that makes me rate them highly as a company, read further.

I've been able to listen to the PB-2000 for about a month now. Using different sources. Mostly BluRay live concert recordings in DTS master audio. BluRay movies. Multiple sources streaming through my Apple TV. Mostly Netflix, Prime, Disney+ and Apple TV content. Also remastered classic rock recordings done in multi-channel now on BluRay. Find remastered recordings done by someone that really knows what they are doing and it can be a whole new enjoyable listening experience to what you've been listening to for years.

When it comes to musical abilities. This sub blends in seamlessly in my system. I can really appreciate how it beautifully reproduces the sounds of a traditional acoustic standup bass. Not to mention how well it sounds with electric bass guitars. The best thing I think I can say is this blends in so well and fills in the bottom end so seamlessly, I just forget it's even there. It sounds great. I'll list later what equipment I use.

As for BluRay movies. What can I say. Sound effects galore. Explosions will get your attention. Those quiet moments that instantly transition to something surprisingly loud can make you jump. I haven't listened to a lot of subwoofers. But I stopped looking and listening when I found SVS. They just seem to reproduce sound without that fake boominess. Some people like that, I do not. I like accurate bass reproduction. SVS delivers that in my humble opinion.

Please remember that the PRODUCTION QUALITY of your sound source material and how well it is mixed has a huge affect on what we hear. As with any sound reproduction equipment, garbage in, garbage out. Use quality source material and components and you'll sit back and enjoy.

I also really appreciate the black ash finish. It closely matches my existing speaker system.

I am not a fan of any app to control my devices. In my humble experience they usually have faults and do not work for me. Call me old school. (I am over 60 but have been an audiophile since I was a teenager and am not hesitant to check out and use new technology, as I've done throughout my working career, if it is GOOD tech). In the case of the bluetooth SVS app, my seating position, 20' from the sub, line of sight, no obstecles, does not maintain a connection. Not a big deal for me as once I set everything up properly originally in my system, I don't bother to change anything. No need to. If you're someone that just has to have an app, you may find this a negative. I do not.

As to my system I incorporated the PB-2000 into. I've had this setup for some time now and it just works and sounds well in my listening environment.

I use a Marantz AV7005 pre/pro, a Rotel 5 channel RMB-1075 power amp, Paradigm Monitor 7 V3 5 speaker system, Sony BluRay player, Apple TV 4K, Sony 5 disc changer SACD capable, a Mac Mini as a media server and an LG 60" plasma TV (I have yet to find a TV that can reproduce skin tones as accurately as my LG plasma. I'll use it until it no longer works). My listening area is my living room in an old farmhouse that has some modernization done over the years. It is 15' wide by 23' deep with a ceiling just under 8'. Wood frame, drywall walls and ceiling. Most of the wood floor is carpeted with 8' on the deep end where the main equipment and TV are located, exposed wood floor. I used the recommended settings for the sub provided by SVS for my speaker system. I then used the Audyssey Auto Setup of the Marantz. Using the microphone in as many positions as the system permitted. The only changes I made from there was to adjust the input levels from different sources in the Marantz so they would be similar. When looking at the adjustments the Audyssey software incorporated, they are minimal. This has worked well for me. I used the same technique with my former SVS subwoofer. It just seemed to work for me.

One other note. With the purchase of the PB-2000 I also purchased the SVS SoundPath subwoofer isolation system.

I was able to compare the sound with and without the isolation system. Remember, I live in a 100+ year old wood frame farmhouse.

WOW! I cannot believe what a major difference the isolation makes in my particular installation. Without the isolation there were things that would vibrate and rattle in the listening room and beyond. With the isolation- - it's pretty much eliminated all of those. Which makes the bass produced by the PB-2000 that much more detailed and accurate. Well worth the price. I wouldn't buy another sub without this isolation.

As to why I cannot say enough good things about SVS as a company.

The other SVS subwoofer I have is a PB12-NSD I purchased some years ago. I truly enjoyed that subwoofer also.

Earlier this year I was having a very random, very intermittent unfavorable brief metallic rapping sound emanating from the PB12.
Because it was so random and so varied in it's timing in repeating the sound (a brief sound, minutes, hours or even days apart) I was having a difficult time determining if the issue might be with the sub or the electronics. I did not have another sub to install to test, nor did I wish to risk possible damage to another sub if the source of the issue was the electronics.

So even though my PB-12 was a few years out of warranty, I reached out to SVS with a description of the issue I was having, and asked if they had any thoughts on if it might be the sub or the electronics. I figured, what did I have to lose other than some time. Time, which as a retired person I find even more valuable then when I was working. So many things to do and want to do.

Anyhow. SVS was very helpful with suggestions and testing techniques. Because the issue was so random in when it might happen we went back and forth with emails over a period of time while I did the suggested testing. In the process I decided I wanted to upgrade to the PB-2000 subwoofer. So I ordered one. Which sat here for a while once I received it. Due to the fact I was still testing my PB12. In the end we determined that the issue was with the subwoofer. The driver was at fault. But in the course of testing the amp failed. Just let me say that the driver may have failed due to a couple of things. One, I may have overdriven it listening to movies. It seems that movie productions really like to push the bass sound effects to the max. While raising the volume level to hear the quiet spoken moments in the movie, it may have been too high when the bass sound effects came in. I just really don't know. I can say that I truly enjoyed my PB12 for many years.

To sum up. SVS offered to help me with the issue on a sub that was a few years beyond warranty. They did not need to do that but they did. As to a resolution. Without question, a very reasonable solution was reached. Which resulted in my having a PB12 with a new driver and amplifier.

Again, I cannot say enough good things about SVS as a company and the products the provide. Simply awesome. Very rare now. All companies should strive to this level of customer service and satisfaction. It definitely kept me as a repeat customer.

As I stated earlier. As a recently retired person, time is more valuable to me now. Even more so than when I was working long hours. Once I retired I realized how important time is. Anyhow. For me to take the time to write this somewhat lengthy and detailed review should say something about how much I think SVS and their products are wonderful. It seems people will take time to write brief bad reviews. I feel it is important to write good detailed review when one finds a company as great as SVS. Thank you for your time.

The PB-2000 Pro is an amazing subwoofer. This sub will rock the walls and it’s beautiful to look at.

I upgraded from the Bic f12. I thought I knew what deep bass was....I was so wrong. No comparison, the svs blows Bic out of the water. The Bic sounded boomy and I never could get it right with music. The svs just perfectly blends in with my mains, whether it's with movies or music. It's punchy, deep and accurate.

The pb-2000 pro has met or exceeded my expectations in every way. The thing that really stood out was smooth accurate bass even at lower volume levels where other subs I’ve had fell off. So far SVS customer service has been prompt to respond and quickly took care of mistake I made with my order. I couldn’t be happier!

Descent but very good Subwoofer The size is remarkable

I picked up my second PB-2000 Pro and, after about 20 hours of listening, I can safely say it was a fantastic investment. I didn't know what to expect going dual -- I thought maybe it would be louder or deeper or more impactful -- but really, the best way to describe the change was that everything sounds more even now. Before, there seemed to be a discernible point when the sub crossed with the mains, but now that point is fluid and completely hidden. Everything just feels natural. The biggest improvement came from movies that don't have a lot of bass -- these sound a LOT better now with two subs, I think because of the more natural response. A single PB-2000 Pro will impress your guests, but two will immerse them so much that they won't even realize they're watching a movie!

Even though I ended up returning it, Ill buy from them again. Saving for the PB4000. My room is 5000cubic feet so the 2000 just didnt quite cut it. I do feel the app can be more reliable and improved. There were times the Bluetooth would not connect and other times when chages made in the app wouldnt do anything with the sub. This resulted in restarting the app and/or power cycling the sub. My saved presets would be forgotten as well. I like the idea of the controls on the front on the 4000 for this reason. But man... When it hits those low notes you forget any problems. I gotta have more cowbell... I mean bass! The 3000 would probably do but im going to make sure I have enough and go for the 4000.

I needed a replacement for my 16 year old Paradigm PW-2200 that finally died and after lots of research and reviews decided to go with the PB-2000 Pro. No thanks to FedEx my sub arrived with a pretty battered box but SVS did good job packaging and protecting this beast so all is well. Right out of the box with just a quick and dirty initial setup it sounds awesome! So deep and blends so well with my speakers. Movies, video games, and music all sound so good. And the SVS app is so cool to use! Great value on this sub for the performance it delivers. If I had one nit-pick is the grill is a little awkward to put on and remove, but other than that I'm very pleased. Great job SVS!

Great Subwoofer ??

I had wanted to add a second PB 2000 sub to my system bad enough to completely rebuild the it so that the electronics are located in another room giving me the physical space needed to accommodate the second sub. I now have both subs (1 PB 2000 & 1 PB 2000 pro) located under the TV surrounded by other SVS speakers (tower, center, and elevated) creating a impressive sound stage for the family to enjoy our TV viewing.

I would describe the listening room as being mid sized but with a cathedral ceiling. Running these subs anywhere close to to 1/2 volume will literally rattle the family pictures hanging on the walls resulting in a high degree of wife agro even with the isolation feet installed. Needless to say, most times the subs are running at something slightly less than 1/2 volume and still have plenty of bass with ample headroom for more when needed.

Performance wise, I am very happy with the PB 2000 & and Pro combination as they seem to play nice together and will literally rock my world. The pro appears to be slightly more efficient based on how Audssey wanted to configure it.

There were a couple of items that needed to be addressed to make this setup acceptable but not enough to warrant a star reduction. The first was the change in the grill design between the 2000 and 2000 pro. I wanted to have both subs to have the same grill and to resolve this, SVS support staff were able to find/sell me a 2000 model grill which fit without issue on the 2000 pro.

Unfortunately the second issue is one of design. For whatever reason the blue led light found on the 2000 has been eliminated from the pro version. For what appears to be only a slight savings in cost has removed the visual confirmation that I had so that I could know the speaker is in stand-by mode. With a remote system like mine having that visual would have been nice but I am over it...

I also have a PB-2000 that has the blue/red light at the front, which I like in order to verify that the wireless adapter connection is working. I miss that visible confirmation on the PB-2000 Pro. I find myself removing the cover and feeling the subwoofer to ensure that it is working. Otherwise I have noticed a major increase in bass after adding this third subwoofer in my home theater. I had to lower all the LFE gain that I had set on the pre-amp prior to adding the PB-2000 Pro. Maybe overkill, but I let out a few marine grunts when I see all the firepower in the room.

Love the bass this beast puts out, it paired well with towers and center speakers I had. The app allows you to fine tune the bass depending on what you are watching or listening to-it's GREAT!!!.

This thing rocks!!!! i had an original SB1000. Got my upgrade and have been blown away. My wife was worried it was gonna be to much but it has been amazing and pristine sound. every weekend has been rewatching every movie in the collection to experience this incredible sub

So far good, even better than expected. Rich and delicious bass that adds a new dimension to movies and video games. I experienced amazing customer service that started before I purchased my sub! I will be returning to SVS when I have the space to run duals!
