I picked up my second PB-2000 Pro and, after about 20 hours of listening, I can safely say it was a fantastic investment. I didn't know what to expect going dual -- I thought maybe it would be louder or deeper or more impactful -- but really, the best way to describe the change was that everything sounds more even now. Before, there seemed to be a discernible point when the sub crossed with the mains, but now that point is fluid and completely hidden. Everything just feels natural. The biggest improvement came from movies that don't have a lot of bass -- these sound a LOT better now with two subs, I think because of the more natural response. A single PB-2000 Pro will impress your guests, but two will immerse them so much that they won't even realize they're watching a movie!
Even though I ended up returning it, Ill buy from them again. Saving for the PB4000. My room is 5000cubic feet so the 2000 just didnt quite cut it. I do feel the app can be more reliable and improved. There were times the Bluetooth would not connect and other times when chages made in the app wouldnt do anything with the sub. This resulted in restarting the app and/or power cycling the sub. My saved presets would be forgotten as well. I like the idea of the controls on the front on the 4000 for this reason. But man... When it hits those low notes you forget any problems. I gotta have more cowbell... I mean bass! The 3000 would probably do but im going to make sure I have enough and go for the 4000.
I needed a replacement for my 16 year old Paradigm PW-2200 that finally died and after lots of research and reviews decided to go with the PB-2000 Pro. No thanks to FedEx my sub arrived with a pretty battered box but SVS did good job packaging and protecting this beast so all is well. Right out of the box with just a quick and dirty initial setup it sounds awesome! So deep and blends so well with my speakers. Movies, video games, and music all sound so good. And the SVS app is so cool to use! Great value on this sub for the performance it delivers. If I had one nit-pick is the grill is a little awkward to put on and remove, but other than that I'm very pleased. Great job SVS!
I had wanted to add a second PB 2000 sub to my system bad enough to completely rebuild the it so that the electronics are located in another room giving me the physical space needed to accommodate the second sub. I now have both subs (1 PB 2000 & 1 PB 2000 pro) located under the TV surrounded by other SVS speakers (tower, center, and elevated) creating a impressive sound stage for the family to enjoy our TV viewing.
I would describe the listening room as being mid sized but with a cathedral ceiling. Running these subs anywhere close to to 1/2 volume will literally rattle the family pictures hanging on the walls resulting in a high degree of wife agro even with the isolation feet installed. Needless to say, most times the subs are running at something slightly less than 1/2 volume and still have plenty of bass with ample headroom for more when needed.
Performance wise, I am very happy with the PB 2000 & and Pro combination as they seem to play nice together and will literally rock my world. The pro appears to be slightly more efficient based on how Audssey wanted to configure it.
There were a couple of items that needed to be addressed to make this setup acceptable but not enough to warrant a star reduction. The first was the change in the grill design between the 2000 and 2000 pro. I wanted to have both subs to have the same grill and to resolve this, SVS support staff were able to find/sell me a 2000 model grill which fit without issue on the 2000 pro.
Unfortunately the second issue is one of design. For whatever reason the blue led light found on the 2000 has been eliminated from the pro version. For what appears to be only a slight savings in cost has removed the visual confirmation that I had so that I could know the speaker is in stand-by mode. With a remote system like mine having that visual would have been nice but I am over it...
Powerful and Great Sounding Subwoofer - Especially for the Price!
I also have a PB-2000 that has the blue/red light at the front, which I like in order to verify that the wireless adapter connection is working. I miss that visible confirmation on the PB-2000 Pro. I find myself removing the cover and feeling the subwoofer to ensure that it is working. Otherwise I have noticed a major increase in bass after adding this third subwoofer in my home theater. I had to lower all the LFE gain that I had set on the pre-amp prior to adding the PB-2000 Pro. Maybe overkill, but I let out a few marine grunts when I see all the firepower in the room.
This thing rocks!!!! i had an original SB1000. Got my upgrade and have been blown away. My wife was worried it was gonna be to much but it has been amazing and pristine sound. every weekend has been rewatching every movie in the collection to experience this incredible sub
So far good, even better than expected. Rich and delicious bass that adds a new dimension to movies and video games. I experienced amazing customer service that started before I purchased my sub! I will be returning to SVS when I have the space to run duals!
Thanks SVS for the opportunity to be a part of the revolution. I own two PB 2000 PRO subwoofers, and let me tell you they are unreal and like nothing I have ever heard before. Down to 16hz? are you kidding me? Anyone reading this review for what it is worth absorb this review and by from SVS, you will be glad you did. I will purchase two more in the near future to complete my home theater, THANK YOU SVS, FOR THE REVOLUTION!!!!!!!!
The bass on this pb 2000 pro is so earth shaking I don’t see how I would need anything stronger. Two of these bad boys are enough to shake the foundation of my two storey home. A friend who lives next door swears he can feel the thumping of my dual Svs subs. The depth of the lows on these are truly amazing. My movie watching experience and music listening have gotten a stratospheric upgrade. If you’re shopping for quality subwoofers, you’ll never go wrong with svs!
I actually returned a PB-1000 Pro to step up to the PB-2000 Pro. I wanted more power and the lower distortion that came along with the PB-2000 Pro. I am very happy with the quality of the bass and impressed with the levels that the sub can put out with ease. I was quite happy with the 1000 Pro, but since I had the opportunity to upgrade I did, and I have no regrets. My wife actually said she notices more bass from the 2000 Pro than the 1000 Pro, so if I can get her stamp of approval I'm all set. Now I just have to add the second one....
This is a great sub. It really brought my system to life. Unfortunately, I had to return it because it was a little too large for the intended space. I swapped it for the smaller sealed SB2000 Pro which is also great.
If you have the floor space and want an excellent sub that delivers ample deep bass this is definitely a good one to go with.
Thanks to the staff at SVS for helping me find the sub that works best for me and for making the swap a breeze.
I oringinally had two subs; SB-2000 & SB-2000 Pro in a large area. The bass faded when you as you walked further away. Now I have 2 of these PB-2000 Pro's and could not be happier !!!! Bass doesn't fade, nice thump/vibrations. The bass extension is unreal. I had super customer support before, during and after ordering. Ed help me set them up. That was an excellent experience aslo!! I never thought of doing what he had me do to set them up correctly and have a lot of bass. I will not be buying another sub. These 2 do the trick !! Note: I didn't buy them as a pair but should have. If you love bass in your music, you will love one of these, possibly 2 if you're anything like me.
Very good subwoofer. This is my 3rd subwoofer from your company. You get a lot of bang for your buck with these speakers. The only issue is that one of the 2000 pro subs is that you have to turn the volume up a little high to get the speaker to turn on. I spoke with a online rep before all purchases and they were all very knowledgeable, and very courteous. I would highly recommend SVS products.
This sub is absolutely fantastic. The sub set up was super easy. The app makes control and adjustments very user friendly. This sub replaced an older JBL sub and the difference is night and day. From Grunge Rock to Metal, the transient response blew me away for a ported sub. As far as movies and gaming, the bass response and sound is unbelievable. It pairs perfectly with my Klipsch RP 8000F’s. I couldn’t recommend this product enough.
Even more impressive was the great customer service through the ordering process. Nancy at SVS took time to ask questions about my primary application for the sub as well as room size and different variables to help select the right product. I hope her supervisor sees this and recognizes her for getting SVS a lifetime customer. I’ll be ordering my second PB-2000 Pro this week!
Well, let me start out by saying that this thing is a beast. It puts out enough bass to rattle the windows in the house! Works well with the pair of JBL HP88F tower speakers that I've had for over 20 years. Those are being pushed by an Emotiva XPA-DR2 Differential Reference Two-Channel Power Amplifier. If you're looking for something that will put a grin on your face, get this sub. You won't regret it!
First of all, this thing is a monster but looks amazing. Secondly, my unit arrived with a slight chip on the top-rear corner of it however, after contacting SVS’s amazing customer support (thank you Scott) I was able to get a discount on the unit without any trouble whatsoever! Finally, the sheer power of this woofer scares me sometimes because it knocks things off the shelves and walls. My wife and I always look at each other in excitement and disgust because of how ridiculously low it gets! Thank you SVS for outstanding customer support and insane subwoofers!
I wanted to give a real review of this product. I pride myself on my home entertainment set up, I spend a great deal of time using my entertainment center, and quality matters because I suffer nearly constant migraines. That said, I did significant research when upgrading my previous sub to an SVS sub. I discovered ported offers a clean bass that was easier on people who suffer from brain issues, like migraines. So I knew going in I would want a ported design to get the sound without as much actual pressure in the atmosphere.
My room is not small, but also isn’t really medium, however it is an open floor design. I wasn’t certain how to address that, so I reached out to SVS customer care and gave them specifics. I also advised I was choosing between the 1000 and the 2000 ported. After some detailed discussion the advise given was that I go for the larger 2000 if I could manage to handle its girth (it is a larger footprint that you think, I suggest cutting a piece of cardboard the sand size and seeing how it fits). It was going to be close for me, but I really need the best I can manage for quality of sound, so I decided I would make it work. The bonus is that SVS offers a 45 day in home trial period and they pay return shipping if you aren’t satisfied, if you check online you will find that people use this service often and never have a problem with the company coming thru for them, that alone is huge.
The sub arrived quickly, and there were actual instructions on how to properly remove it from the box, which was interesting and a sign of how well thought out the entire process was for SVS. I set the sub up, and immediately ran the auto setup for my sound system (tip, locate your receivers microphone for auto setup before the sub arrives). I installed the app (altho tbh it seems rather redundant, I will explain more shortly) and after some test sound movies, I determined the auto setup was about perfect.
The difference about SVS subs is that they don’t overwhelm you with bass, they provide exactly the right amount, since I watch mostly movies, my standard setting is for movies. The goal to know if your sub is performing well, is to understanding that the proper amount of bass means you won’t notice that it is boomy, or that it is lacking, during your movie. If you simply don’t notice it, then it is performing perfectly. This is a concept that did not make sense to me before actually experiencing it. My prior sub was boomy, and I had grown used to that, so much do that I thought that’s how it should sound. Actually having the bass match the events on tv, brought my movie watching experience to a whole new level. Not only that, but reducing the unnecessary and excessive boominess also reduced the pressure in the room, which reduced my migraines. So it was a win across the board.
I have been convinced and won over by SVS. As my components fail, I will replace with SVS components. The quality of their products combined with the quality of their customer care, makes this an easy decision for the future of my entertainment center.
Amazed at what I was missing. I had a polk audio HTS10 and felt something was missing, I decided to give svs a shot and try the 45 days as no one in my area has a show room to hear them. I'm impressed! And keeping it and maybe adding a second one.
I have been admiring the SVS line of speakers and subwoofers for some time, and finally decided to purchase the Prime Center and the PB2000 Pro. What a difference!! Replaced a Klipsch Center and 10" Klipsch sealed sub with a 150 watt amp. The improvement is staggering! Articulate speech and midrange from the Prime center and room shaking, smooth bass from the PB2000 Pro. Even my non audiophile wife noted the change and is impressed with the improvement in her steady diet of true crime shows! Definitely great products and outstanding customer service. Replacing my towers with SVS towers the next step. Great job SVS!
I am not an audiophile...at least my definition of one. I know what I like The PB-2000 Pro is a fantastic subwoofer, especially for the money. The PB-2000 Pro was placed in a 2000 cu.ft. room. The performance for both movie and music is very strong but melted with my towers. The room gain was superb without any adjustment. Have no way to confirm but it sure seemed like it easily got down as low as 12hz...you couldn't hear it but you can sure feel it. I bought one thinking I would eventually buy another. Once I received it the space it requires became readily apparent and found that there would not be room for a second one. Being it was damaged in shipment I opted to return it. SVS was eager to make it right. After sending it back I got to thinking and decided to splurge, instead of having a new 2000 Pro returned ordered the PB-3000. (Mainly due to space in the listening room for placement of two PB-2000 Pros' felt the need to upscale performance because the main listening room is adjacent to another room of approximately 2000 cu ft.) The PB-2000 Pro is definitely best in class. Wish I did have room for 2.
This sub surprised the heck out of me. Its just a pleasure to listen to. It has enhanced me entire HT and really brings out the best in my speakers. I'm beyond impressed. First time I ever felt bass, not just heard it but felt it. Its just an amazing sub. I will be adding a second at some point.
This is my second PB-2000-Pro. An addition to my first purchased a year ago when I was able to trade in my PB-2000. Everyone of these products has been first rate. Perform as expected with no issues. Now with dual PB-2000 Pros the sound is even better.
Sounds amazing, has extremely detailed bass with high levels of excursion. This is an absolute monster, and I have renamed my unit BoomyBoi. With my marantz Sr 5014 I cannot push it to its highest setting without making the whole neighborhood mad at me
I had found a Klipsch 12" at Costco for $250. I figured that at $250, I could buy two and work with them. After finding out that I could return it several weeks later, I decided to bring it home and listen to it. I did and It left me feeling like something was missing. That night, I was online when I came across thes SVS PB-2000. Sure it cost more, but was it worth it. I found Youtube videos that said it was, but I couldnt hear it for myself. SVS in home listening pushed it over the hump. I bought it and it came quickly. I plugged it in and John Wick, the Expendables, and U-572 told me to keep the SVS. I could feel it pushing the air around. The Klipsch went back. You get what you pay for.
First of all, like so many others have said, the customer service level throughout the buying process was top notch. Scott was incredibly patient and always quick to respond and his help alone has gained SVS a customer for life.
Now for the sub. I was coming from the PB12-NSD that I picked up in 2019. I loved that sub, but wanted the ability to run duals in the future and had to upgrade with the PB12 not available anymore. Upgraded to the PB-2000 Pro and am very happy with the increase in output. This thing punches quite a bit harder and in my space - cleaner! I was a little surprised at how much "quicker" the bass felt and am 100% satisfied with this upgrade. I will eventually add another, but for now am very happy with the upgrade.
I bought the PB-2000 Pro to upgrade from my polk sub, and it completely changed my system! Great for musical bass and huge deep LFE moments, I couldn't be happier. It fills my basement with a ton of bass!
So much punch out of this sub, it's amazing. Just figuring out the app which is a nice feature when listening to music. The feet stabilize the sub and I don't get any unwanted vibration. It's a great match for the Prime Tower Surround that I bought to complete my system.
This is my first real sub and I've only had it a few weeks, so it may be too soon to comment. That said, so far I'm quite impressed. In a 17X30 LR, this unit can make you feel the rotor blades whirl as the helicopter flies by. With my new 5.1 system featuring all SVS speakers (Prime towers/Ultra center) I'm now listening to more music (previous 20+ year old Bose system was really poor for music and apparently not much better for movies) and the PB 2000 seems to handle that pretty handily as well. I'm very pleased with my SVSs and their outstanding customer service. My only nagging question is whether a sealed or ported sub would be "better", but that has nothing to do with SVS of course.
A really nice addition for my home theater, in the rear... to support my PC4000 up front. Both are limited, due to space. Gary and crew would probably yell at me... but the 2000 is in the "dorm refrigerator" hole, under my bar. Fits perfect.
Very powerful sub. It hits notes that I wasn't fully aware had existed. I have it sitting directly behind my sitting position and it shakes me and everything else in its path. If I were to have one complaint, it has some air noise through the ports at very low frequency high excursion. But I got the port plugs and will likely try those out and see how the sounds. If you think that might be a deal breaker for you, you might want to consider the sealed box and save some money. But overall, I love it!
