Seemless transition to stereo!
I already had a One SL from a previous purchase, and adding another was a seamless transition to add stereo sound! Great job!

Good sound...when it works
The Sonos app that you are forced to use (yes, you can go through Spotify but it constantly disconnects or doesn't work at all) is horrible. They need to think more about how their customers are going to interact with the device. No one wants a separate app for their speakers. Find the platforms most customers are using and invest in making the integration with them seamless. I get so frustrated when my music just stops and Spotify says my speaker is missing and the Sonos app doesn't work. Way too much frustration for a brand that touts its ease of use and quality. I have the Five as well, which is less frustrating because of the AirPlay and because I use a direct line to my record player. Until the software improves, I will not be "expanding" my current.

Great Product BUT lacking some sound settings
I'm a professional musician and music producer and an amateur audiophile.
I got a pair of Sonos One speakers for our LR surround system. They work GREAT to watch movies, the sound is crisp and clear, and they are great with directional sound in a surround setting. As a musician and audiophile, though, I would like to see some improvements as a user:

1) Add more EQ settings for each speaker AND as a pair (mid range please!!) How about a basic 6-8 band EQ page?

2) If the One pair is connected with an Arc/Sub surround setting, I'd like to be able to easily "detach" them to be used as a stereo pair.

3) It would be great to be able to FLIP the panning of a stereo set. If you're sitting on a couch watching a movie it's one setting. If you're FACING the speakers, then it would be awesome to just flip the pan of the One pair so that you hear it as it was intended.

Outstanding sound
I'm awaiting an arc sound bar for surround sound with my 1SL speakers( which by themselves are superb)…as soon as the arc arrives I will set it up…hopefully with relative ease..

Great sound
Fantastic sound for music, but should be paired with the Gen 3 sub or Sonos Arc for best results and fuller music. Playing old records through the sonos amp sounds amazing.

Worked well as TV surrounds; Sonos really needs to release upfiring rear speakers if adding these as surrounds to the Arc.

ALMOST Perfect
While the device boasts both Google and Alexa assistants on board, they can not coexist. In other words, choose whether Google Assistant or Alexa are listening. They should have advertised it this way: Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa onboard (cannot be used together).

What I HOPED for is a device that could play from my YouTube Music library when I asked the device to play it, but would also listen to Alexa commands, because Alexa seems to work a little better and has a better assortment of skills.

Otherwise, the speaker sounds great and serves all other advertised functions.

I'd prefer Bose
I wanted to replace my Bose up a notch, after a fair amount of research and my partner's opinion - I decided on the Sonos. Sound is great, thought it would be a bit louder. In a 1,000 sq ft open spaced loft, I figured one speaker would be fine for music and podcasts. It's fine, may want a second. Now for the cons - controlling the volume is annoying and inconsistent. Sometimes I am able to control it through the Sonos app, sometimes I am able to control it in the Spotify account, sometimes I am able to control it with my iPhone's side volume buttons. It is beyond annoying, seems silly but trust me when you get a call and fumbling to turn it down having a podcast blasting in the caller's ear isn't ideal. It's annoying that you even have to download the Sonos app, I assume it's because audio plays via WIFI instead of Bluetooth? Not sure. But having one extra step is annoying, especially since the sound isn't significantly better than the portable Bose. Also with no Bluetooth, what happens if the internet is down? It would be nice it the speak had a Bluetooth and wifi connection. I guess I thought it wouldn't be that big of a deal with a wifi only connection, but now I find myself swearing at it more than enjoying it. I would have returned it but I threw away the box without thinking I would hate it so much.

How many remote speakers can you have pairing with arc? And can you control the volume separately from the arc ?
Larry S on Nov 19, 2020
Thanks for your question. If you add 2 speakers specifically paired as surround speakers with the Arc, their volume is controlled by the Arc volume. If additional speakers are added elsewhere in your home they would function as another zone or room and be controlled by the Sonos App.
How do you connect the speakers to the soundbar? How do the speakers draw power?
A shopper on Mar 29, 2020
Thanks for your question. The soundbar must be Sonos and have provisions for adding additional speakers. Each Sonos speaker must be plugged in to an AC outlet.
