How It Works
Connect the MV7i to your computer, tablet, or smartphone via USB-C to enable effortless two-channel audio recording. Plug in an XLR mic or instrument into the Combo XLR & ¼” input and manage both channels with the MOTIV Mix Desktop or Mobile app. Advanced DSP features like Auto Level Mode with SmartGate™, Real-time Denoiser, and Digital Popper Stopper™ ensure consistent, high-quality recordings for both the MV7i and any connected XLR mic.
Auto Level Mode with SmartGate™ Technology
Auto Level Mode dynamically adjusts mic gain in accordance with your proximity to the mic, your speech volume, and room acoustics. Activated by default, SmartGate™ seamlessly reduces volume on a silent channel, eliminating crosstalk and ensuring clear, uninterrupted dual-channel recordings.
Built-in Audio Interface
The microphone contains a combo XLR & ¼” input, serving as an audio interface to connect an additional microphone (via XLR) or a musical instrument (via ¼” TS or TRS). It offers +60dB gain, and 48v Phantom Power that supports most dynamic and condenser XLR microphones. Experience digital audio output up to 24-bit and 48kHz with onboard DSP for any XLR input.
Compatibility with Desktop, Tablet & Smartphone via USB-C Output
The MV7i is compatible with Desktop and Laptops with Mac and Windows OS, as well as selected Apple and Android™ mobile devices that have a USB-C
port. It is also MFi certified for iPhone and iPad, ensuring seamless integration and performance across various devices.
Advanced DSP Features
The MV7i comes with a suite of advanced DSP features, which are applicable to both the MV7i and any XLR microphone you connect. Create broadcast-quality audio content with minimal post-production. Real-Time Denoiser actively eliminates ambient noise, Digital Popper Stopper™ removes harsh plosive sounds, and Adjustable Reverb offers three settings (Plate, Hall, Studio) for added depth and richness in vocal and instrument recordings.
Multi-Color LED Touch Panel / Live Meter
The MV7i features a 36-bit color-adjustable LED panel, which can be personalized using the MOTIV Mix desktop app to display live meter, pulsing, or solid modes. The LED display can function in split mode to show the status of both the Microphone and Input channels separately, or in combined mode when the MV7i operates independently.
Full Touch-to-Mute Panel
The MV7i provides immediate mute access for each channel, indicated by a RED animation on the touch panel. This allows you to quietly and efficiently mute either the Microphone or Input channel without interrupting your workflow, giving you complete control over your audio settings.
Zero-Latency Audio Monitoring and Playback
Monitor the audio from both the Microphone and the Input without delay using the built-in 3.5mm headphone jack. This ensures that you hear exactly what is being recorded in real-time, enabling precise adjustments and creating a seamless recording or streaming experience.
Flexible Recording Output Modes
Choose your preferred audio output mode within MOTIV Apps.. Mixdown Mode merges microphone and mono input audio into one mono track. Multi-Track Mode creates two separate mono audio tracks, ideal for podcasts or dual recording of vocals and instruments. Stereo Mode combines microphone and input stereo audio into a single stereo track, perfect for voiceovers with stereo background.
MOTIV Mix™ & MOTIV Mobile Apps Integration
Configure all DSP features and tailor the sound signature of the Microphone and the Input through the MOTIV Mix Desktop app or MOTIV Mobile apps. The MOTIV apps also allow for future firmware updates, expanding the MV7i’s features and functionality as technology advances.
