Customer Reviews for Samsung SWA-9500S 2.0.2ch Wireless Rear Speaker Kit with Dolby Atmos/DTS:X (Compatible with Select Samsung Soundbars)
These speakers sound amazing . I thought they were going to be very low and not noticeable, but after adjusting them, they get very loud and are super clear!!. They connect to the sound bar very easy. They were the clearest. Speakers I have ever owner . I recommend them for sure . I also have the Samsung Neo TV to go with the Q Symohony sound package .
This set was the last step of an upgrade to my basic 2.1 soundbar. If I had known how much I enjoy it I would have done it years ago! Now I can really feel like in a movie theater! Dialogue, music and effects are all clear and exciting! I really wish they included screws to mount in the wall... Would cost pennies per set to Samsung and there was plenty of room in the box. Otherwise, very happy with my purchase.
I'm a gamer and a movie lover and the full surround sound that these offer are excellent, when watching a movie it give me a full theater feeling and makes running a good action packed game even more awesome I get lost into the smooth crisp sound quality that these speakers offer, I could write a whole book about these but i'll just say this the are the BOMB!!! WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!
rear volume is too low. i cant barely hear the surround sound. adjustments have been made. set max volume of rears from mt samsung q800b to max 6 already, but i still barely hear the sounds from the 9500s. i would suggest if samsung can release a firmware for q700, q800 soundbars that would set the rear volume max to 8 instead of 6. this will surely improve the performance
wow is what i have to say because for the quality of sound that i am getting for what i paid im impressed samsung has finally put foot printin the audio industry i mean the subwoofer is pretty descent and i was told that it might be a little weak wrong so for what i paid and easy it was for the technical support to connect excellent.
The 9500s Rear Speaker is a masterpiece of sound engineering that elevates my Samsung soundbar and subwoofer to a whole new level of excellence. These speakers are a marvel of design and technology that seamlessly connect to the soundbar without any wires. They deliver a spectacular sound quality that transports me to a different world of entertainment. The sound is so crisp and immersive that I can hear every nuance from every direction. Whether I'm watching a cinematic masterpiece, a thrilling sports game, or a relaxing music playlist, the rear speakers make it an extraordinary experience. Samsung has created a stunning product that deserves all the praise and recognition. They are worth every penny and more. If you want to enjoy the ultimate sound system, you need to get these speakers now!
I connected these rear speakers to my HW-Q800 Soundbar and I can tell you the sound is phenomenal. They are clear, clean, and precise and bring a truly immersive experience. When using the Dolby Atmos, its amazing how realistic the sound is coming out of these fairly small rear speakers. I am very happy with my purchase
I purchased the SWA-9500s almost 2 years ago to upgrade my Q700A sound bar that I got with an 82in Q60T. And they have all worked flawlessly in harmony ever sence. These rear speakers made that soundbar a great 5.1.4 set up. Its the basement TV set up now. In January 2023, upgraded both of them and got an 85in QN90B and the Q910B soundbar. I understood that this particular sound bar came with the wired rear speakers that were only two channels and required a wireless module, but knowing that the SWA - 9500s we're compatible with the Q900A soundbar, I made the assumption that they would be compatible with the Q910B soundbar, as I read reviews that they were compatible with the Q800B and Q700B. I was going to purchase the Q930B sound bar as they come with the wireless 2.0.2 rear speakers, basically the same as the SWA -9500s but with a different design, so you can see where I could have made that assumption. The only reason why I didn't buy that one is because in my head, I already had basically the same 2.0.2 rear speakers why spend an extra few hundred dollars for a different design when I have basically the same ones that we're compatible with last year's in Q900A soundbar. Anyway, long story short they are not compatible with the Q910B I know that now I almost returned it and got the 930B, but I didn't because I was hoping and praying that they would be an update to make them compatible and there is not one as of yet. I understand that you as a company make certain things exclusively compatible. But as a loyal customer who has exclusively purchased your TVs and sound bars and major household appliances for the last decade, can you please make these rear speakers compatible with the Q910B soundbar? And I didn't think I should've had to have spent hundreds of more dollars just to get rear speakers that I basically already had when I spent hundreds of dollars not that long ago to purchase them. You probably won't read this and I know my request won't be answered, but as a loyal customer who genuinely enjoys your products, a simple software up date would go a long way.
was told it would work with the q6cb, not true hours invested, numerous inquires and text chats to be told that they are really not all that compatable.so im sure they sound good but just not with my device.getting tired of the now common run around .
I don't understand the bad reviews. If you do your homework then these sound great. The rear speakers are meant to face towards where you're sitting. Not facing forward. Also to get more sound turn your soundbar levels down a little and turn your rear speakers all the way up. I have all my soundbar levels turned down too 4 and my rear speakers all the way up too 6. It sounds great. Of course the settings depend on your room size. Do your homework! Im looking too upgrade too the Q990B when I can afford it! Lol
I bought these rear speakers as an addition to my HW-S800B 3.1 Soundbar. These speaker are really good and perfectly sync wirelessly with my soundbar. They created an amazing Dolby surround sound experience. However, they seem a bit too costly to me. Almost cost me as much as the soundbar itself. The other rear speaker model cost $100 less. These should be the same price as well
I've had the swa9500 rear speakers for a few days now and I'm amazed at how good these speakers sound.paired up with my Q800b sound bar the sound comes from all angles making you feel totally immersed absolute must buy if you own a2021 sound bar I'm not sure why it's had some negative reviews must have been faulty units because I don't have any negative feedback to give regards sound because they hit every mark when watching Atmos movies. The cables could be a metre longer but other than that very happy with this product.pairing up literally took a few minutes if that and then make sure you turn up the volume on the rear speakers using the channel level on the sound bar I have rear set to 5 and rear top set to 6 and that's it enjoy and be blown away.we have watched quite a few movies and Everyone has impressed us with the sound from behind and above a mind blowing experience paired with my q800b it's a match made in heaven thank you Samsung for a great product.
i connected these to the samsung hw-801s soundbar and they really completed the sound. the rear speakers are clear and more than loud enough. once i figured out to adjust the surrounds volume through the soundbar remote they were great. i actually had put the volume too high and turned down the volume a little. i recommend if you get these to read some of samsung’s responses to other low rated reviews, it helped me figure out how to adjust them. hopefully the next version of these can be made smaller though.
Just a small warning here for someone who is looking to upgrade your 2022 q910b soundbar to the 9500s rear speakers. The 9100s that come with the 910b works well, but has a extra wifi / amp box with left and right speaker wires. Not as clean of a solution as these 9500s.
I checked with 2 different product representatives before checking these out on my 910b. They will not link , set id on the 910b. I hard reset the 910b , unplugged the woofer and 9100s rears. No other ids bidding for attention but they will not link. So I am going to hang on to these for a while. Hoping a f910 firmware update will happen to match their product literature.
I think they work great.. at first I thought they wouldn’t be loud enough, but it was just a matter of moving and pointing them in the right direction.. connected to soundbar 800a, 85” 8K Tv.. if I had more money and room after learning more about surround sound I would upgrade to a full blown system of 11.1
I bought these and paired them with my main sound bar and the sound is really good! You definitely get great surround sound with these speakers, whether you are watching a high-octane action movie or just watching a normal TV show. Great buy!
was worried about investing in these speakers based on reviews bur i really didn’t have any trouble at all. i did have to try pairing these to my q800a soundbar twice but its an easy pair to do so i wasn’t angry it didn’t work the first time. as for volume, i turned that up on the rear speakers and the sound is great. i could probably turn it down but i like hearing the rear channel clearly. if you havethe compatible dolby soundbar, i recommend these speakers.
i didn't have any problems installing this on my end. i only had to change settings for my ps5 to output 5.1 sound in the room. ill be tinkering on other parts of it, but so far they can be pretty loud and its great to hear sounds behind me.
these speakers "may" be great. i don't know yet because i'm searching for answers on setup. what are all those buttons on the remote and how do i set up my system? no answers in the "manual". i intentionally bought a samsung hw-q700a/za soundbar so it would pair well with my new samsung frame tv. then i wanted to add atmos rear speakers so i got the swa-9500s. they produce very little sound so i started searching online. found some suggestions to try and then wondered whether the manual for the remote was missing from my set. looked all over and all there is apparently is the very basic how-to-pair and how to wall mount. what about how to adjust the volume of the rear speakers? and what are the other buttons on the remote for? very disappointing. so i can't really rate the product yet.
i purchased the swa 9500s wireless speakers as an additional to my 800a soundbar. they hooked up quick and easy, however, you can hardly hear any sound out of them. i have increased the volume on them to +6 but that really made no difference. i have the soundbar set on surround as well. i was expecting a much better sound for the price paid for the speakers.
i have reached out to tech support and as of writing this review there is no fix for the product. i have these paired with the q-800 soundbar (that is amazing). the issue is these rear speakers have no dedicated software to adjust the volume. instead, you can go in and increase them to a max +6. this makes them still barely even loud enough for you to notice. in order to get a noticeable sound, i had to under drive the sound bar to -5 on all settings and turn off q symphony on the tv. at that point i'm making the whole audio experience worse. samsung desperately needs to add individual volume control to these speakers in the smart thing app as they get loud but never the right audio compared to the rest of the set up. do not buy until fixed
i bought the q900a soundbar/subwoofer combo and thought the 9500s speakers would enhance my viewing experience. although, they were easy to connect, right out of the box they were not too impressive as the sound from both the rear front and rear upfiring speakers was barely noticeable unless you had your ear right next to the speaker. even after adjusting the rear level volume for both the rear front and top to the maximum of 6, they still underperformed. to be honest, i wanted to give 2 stars but i'm hoping they will have some type of firmware update to fix this issue. not worth it for $270. disappointed samsung user.
overall, i am happy with my samsung skundbar setup. the sound is fairly deep and rich. however, it's all way over-priced. these speakers while weighty, are very quiet (even at 6) and are complicated to set up. even with a compatible samsung tv and soundbar, they won't show as connected. they are and i can control them via the sound bar remote, but that shouldn't be. a picky thing, but the power cables are way to short.
my plan was to wall mount these rear speakers. unfortunately, samsung has decided not to support this option by failing to provide mounting brackets/kit. they state the don't produce and to get third-party equipment. they provide the specs (17.6 lbs. load bearing requirement). i have not been able to find any vendor's mounting hardware that states it will handle that weight. i contacted samsung and they have no recommendations for a vendor. since i can't find a vendor and apparently samsung cannot find a vendor, i do not think they should be advertising these as wall-mountable. come on samsung - you can do better!
how do they sound - don't know as they are sitting on the floor behind recliners.
Samsung i tried all the settings you described in this topic..please read my review.Tried with the rear speakers level from the sound bar..dst..etc.The rear speakers are still really low in volume..we should have the option to reply.I couldn't find that
i recently purchased a hw-q600a 3.1.2ch soundbar w/ dolby atmos / dts:x (2021) soundbar and i attempted to pair my new speakers for hours with no success. i tried every method possible and sat waiting on the phone for an hour with the team and the speakers blinked blue very fast but would never connect to the soundbar. i am very disappointed and do not plan on buying speakers from samsung again. i thought this was a great idea to get more sound in my living room but terrible design/execution by the speakers. i easily set up and paired my soundbar to my tv but these speakers do not connect at all to my sound bar not matter what i tried. sincerely disappointed.
i ordered the 9500s rear firing speakers to pair with my 2021 q800a soundbar. connected relatively easily, but adjustments were difficult and hard to find. while many of the reviews site compatibility with older soundbars as their main complaint it very clearly states which models this does and does not work with. my main disappointment with these speakers is their very poor/weak drivers and quiet sound at best. and yes i went through all the troubleshooting steps and verified them with customer support over the phone. these speakers look cool enough and are well built, but at $249-300 its not even close to worth it. incredibly poor performance, just the slightest bit noticable with 5.1 content. honestly had a hard time discerning if they were turned on most of the time.
Dear Samsung - please amend your policy of not allowing this product to be compatible with 2020 model soundbars, something that you can fix very easily via a firmware update. You will find sales of this product will increase significantly if you do. Thanks in advance.
i was shopping for rear speakers for my 1 year old (or less) q800t soundbar. unfortunately, samsung has chosen to not make these speakers compatible with a soundbar from last year. it is clear that there is no hardware reason for this decision, and a small firmware upgrade would permit compatibility. i think all the consumers who bought sound bars from samsung a year ago would be considerably happier with these speakers over the alternative 9100s speakers that i haven't tried yet. please show you support your products and provide a firmware upgrade to enable compatibility with the 9500s. thank you.
i like the upgraded rear speakers compared to the previous series. the added upfire for the rear is perfect and welcomed. the bonus is having the wireless. the negative star is for not having a longer power cord and no rear wall mount hardware. overall a great purchase and design.
i honestly don't understand the previous poor reviews for this product. these are designed to be used with 2021 qled tv's and 2021 q soundbars. no point to buy them otherwise. when you use them with compatible products, they are terrific. i am using them with a 2021 samsung 80a-qled and a 2021 samsung q700a soundbar. ---- pros: they pair easily and flawlessly. it took me less then 5 minutes and only 2 steps to pair them to the soundbar. i love that they are truly wireless, with no wires having to go between the speakers. they sit on my endtable and are neat (not messy) with no wires hanging all around. a seperate power cords comes for each speaker. the sound is adequate. i mainly watch streaming moviesi have not used them for gaming on my ps4 as of yet.
this rear surround speaker does exactly what is advertised however not what you expect. 1. important. this new speaker only works with select (new) samsung sound bars. unlike other surrounds, it has up-firing dolby atmos ability. (on paper) 2. completely wireless as advertised. about the size of a sonos one. 3. sound- provides a subtle (even turned all the way up) surround effect. it does work. however, the difference between having and not having them is... minor. 4. no sound!? if you are watching non-surround content (which is mostly everything) the speaker will not make any sound. you can force audio by putting your sound bar into virtual surround mode.
do i recommend? no. not at this price. if you find them for $150 and you just have money to burn, go for it!
hi, i really like the idea of upgrading the q900t with an 2.0.2 system, but at this moment it's not compatible at all.. i don't know the exact hardware structure built in to the soundbar but i do not think that it is that hard to make it possible with an firmware update.. of course samsung is an tech company an they rely on sells, but since the 2020 models aren't that old yet - i mean 1 year isn't that much even though tech is an pretty fast developing branch - i can't understand why the 2020 models won't support those rear atmos speakers and only the 2021 will. since there is no support yet for the "older" 2020 models i will give them just one star. happy to hear some updates if there will be any or even if the 2020 models will be support them in future.
i had recently purchased a hw-a60m/za sound bar and before i did it i made sure that it was able to be paired with rear speakers. even samsung web site said these and the swa-9100s are able to to be pair with the sound bar i bought. this must not be the case. i can not get them to pair with the sound bar. would like to for sure know if the will work or not before i return them. i love samsung tv and home audio but with this experience i will say, not a good job at all of making it clear on what items are compatible or not as there is conflicting information when looking up the sound bar and looking up the rear speakers. i would rather return the speaker than spend 2 to 3 times as much for a sound bar that is compatible with them. would like to know if the 9100 would work or same issue.
