the sound is very rich and there is even a “surround sound” effect depending on the settings you choose. the quality you get with this soundbar at the price you get it for is really hard to beat. my friend has a 150 dollar samsung soundbar (not sure which model), and it comes nowhere close to the quality of this system. not only is the soundbar terrific quality, but it comes with a huge, booming subwoofer to give you a real theatrical experience in the comfort of your own home. as a bonus, if you have a samsung t.v. it has extra features.
if you are looking for a “budget” soundbar (under $300) that has top-notch sound quality, look no further.

now the words don't match the lips on my shows which is super annoying!
customer service for this was horrible as well (note there's separate tech support and sales support).
the sound is good for music and it was auto-starting/connecting to my projector which is nice but with this lag it doesn't matter.
this has created a lifelong samsung hater and detractor.

but i checked the manuals for both it and my tv and i cannot figure out how to make it stop coming on automatically.
i don’t want it to come on all the time. i’m also a little confused about the updates. i think it has to be done through usb but it would be nice to be able to do it through bluetooth.
i’ve sent several emails but can’t get anyone to respond and it is impossible to get anyone on the phone or chat.

here's the setup...we have three (3) devices (apple tv, a cable box, and and dvd player) that go into a 5-port hdmi switch. the hdmi switch output then goes into the sound bar input, and the sound bar output goes in to the tv hdmi 1 input. every time i try to use the apple tv, it won't stay on hdmi.
