Customer Reviews for Samsung HW-Q70T 3.1.2ch Soundbar with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X
Got the soundbar hooked up quite easily. Connected to wifi, updated with no issues. Love the sound and the options. Love how the subwoofer gives that great sound when watching movies. One small thing I seem to have a problem with is getting the voices loud and clear enough over the music. I do have some hearing problems so it may just be me.
I am by far a technical person and heavily rely on my husband for all things technical, but the Samsung soundbar is so easy to operate. It took me over 6 months to get comfortable operating the remote for our TV, but the connections were simple. I do not like the Alexa part of it, but everything else is by far the best soundbar we have ever had. Now we need to add the surround speakers to it to make it a true audion system. When we have guests over, I no longer worry about how to operate it.
I've had my soundbar for a few weeks, and I'm really enjoying it. The Soundbar connects to my TV every time I turn it on and off - without glitching or disconnecting. Another feature I love is the deep bass sound when watching movies. When we watch a scary movie or a movie with action, the bass on this soundbar is amazing and you an feel the sound vibration. The design of this soundbar is black, functional, and goes well with the design with my TV. I don't have any complaints about this soundbar - only positive feedback!
the soundbar work's great and connected to the new 65" class q80t qled 4k uhd hdr smart tv samsung tv we purchased it for, but the rubber feet that came with the soundbar are not tall enough to lift it over the stand that came with the tv. i expected that since i purchased one of the samsung soundbars recommended to go with the samsung tv we purchased and that the soundbar would properly fit under the tv with the tv on the stand that came with it.
i got this sound system a few days ago and had excellent sound, but when i listen music, sub wooferpower quite poor, so i had to adjust that from eq, this happen only via hdmi connected to my pc, also i have dolby atmos on my pc, but it doesn't work, overall, its a enjoyable product
the instructions were a little confusing to set it up and once it was set up i don't notice a big difference versus the tv audio. also there sometimes seems to be a delay in the sound so it seems out of sync with the actors on tv. disappointing
I was really excited to receive the soundbar. The sound quality is superb. We have been watching a lot of Marvel And DC movies lately and the sound quality is awesome. It gives the surround sound effect.
Unpacking was fast and easy. Set-up was easy and sumple. Had an issue getting the battery compartment open on the remote, odd way to access batteries. Set-up of subwoofer was quick. Wireless is great, just plug it in to power. Soundbar sounds fantastic! Love the ability to change the subwoofer level so easily. Gives the room a great surround sound and movies are just great. Overall, a great soundbar at a great price.
Set up was pretty easy, however the wall mounting paper could have been a little more sturdy, maybe cardboard instead of paper. connecting was easy as well, however I need to swap some of my cables as my Samsung 3d Blueray player would not pass thru the in HDMI port on the sound bar. Sound is good, but miss the 15 year old surround 5.1 setup I replaced this with. The app work ok, sometimes cannot find speaker.
I like the Soundbar. I somewhat had a difficult time trying to connect sync the speaker with the bar. I have synced my phone with the Soundbar but am still unable to have music play through it. It’s something I will have to play around with. With changing the sound mode I really didn’t hear any difference. I do plan to try to use it with watching a action movie instead of just regular tv. I do like the Soundbar and do think I will be able to figure out how to completely use it. The sound of the bass is great. I can definitely hear the bass even when my tv is low so I’m sure when it’s time to play a movie it will be very vibrant and loud.
the sound sucks on tv dialog. not much better with movies. i have an amazon echo that sounds better. and i wish i would have set it up before the return period with best buy! too bad there isn't a negative rating!
Setup thr Samsung HW-Q70T bar in my wife's woman cave. Connected to a Samsung Q90T television and I can control it with the TV remote control. The audio from sound bar is fantastic, I watched some YouTube videos with Atmos and could not believe what I was hearing from the bar and subwoofer. Sounded like a complete surround sound system. I was thinking about adding the rear speakers, but with the size of the room they are not needed.
The love connection started with the design of the box; yes I am weird I know but hey lol. The installation of the soundbar and woofer was too easy; plug and play basically. I went straight to YouTube first and played some music and was thoroughly impressed with the quality and sharpness of the sound, and it gets LOUD. I wanted to watch a movie to test the sound and decided to use THOR for that endeavor. Wow! I live in a condo and I was a bit nervous about how loud it got but I definitely recommend this product.
I also tried "tapped" my phone on the soundbar and it worked with no issues. I have a Samsung Note 9. I am just upset I hadn't purchased this soundbar before now. I am all in going forward
I waited until we closed on our new home to install this bar because I wanted to pair it with our Samsung tv in our media room. The set up was simple. The best part is the Subwoofer being wireless. I took a while deciding placement and ended up putting it on the floor being the back row of theatre seats in the center of the room instead of in the corner. The bass is amazing. The surround sound is superior to having the ceiling mounted surround speakers. The room is completely immersed in the movie experience. I'm definitely considering getting a second sound bar for the living room or game room as well.
I am less the audiophile and technophile than my husband and often struggle with the visual clutter of numerous remotes for various devices and the connectors for all of the devices. This sound bar creates a clean, uncluttered option to fill the room with sound without the fuss of multiple remotes and visible wires.
The integration with our existing Samsung TV was relatively seamless and operates easily with the existing TV and cable box remotes. Our prior surround sound system often lagged in sound control and was often non-responsive to requests for volume change. The Q70Y sound bar makes controlling your audio environment far more fluid.
The sound quality is relatively strong but has a more limited bass range and ability to control the sound settings. Use of the SmartThings app offers more options, but the max 6 units range for the subwoofer makes the nearly imperceptable to justify its physical presence in the room.
All in all, it adds a sleek, clutter-free option to bolster the sound quality for your viewing experience.
I couldn't wait to connect my soundbar. The sounds were amazing and the deep bass coming from the subwoofer just blew me away. Made it sounds like I was in a theaer. Very easy to install and had no issues.
so far pleased with the overall sound but have a continuing issue that i cannot fix. the voice sync is off and nothing i do will correct it. the sync process within the sound bar will make it considerably worse but i cannot lower the sync setting enough to correct the problem. it's almost like the settings need a minus setting, one below the lowest setting to accommodate my issue. very frustrating. it occurs on all programs but is worse on some not as bad on others.
I upgraded to this from an older Samsung soundbar and love it. The sound quality is amazing, the subwoofer is so deep, the rumble shakes the room. The only negative I have, isn't a huge deal. The way my TV is setup, I prefer to mount the soundbar under the TV via a bracket on the back of the tv. The soundbar has to lie flat in order to see the display, and doing that doesn't let it sit flush with the tv. If I put it on the side, it looks so much better, but I can't see the display. I'll eventually mount it on the wall with the brackets provided.
i purchased this sound bar along with the 85" q70 led tv. i have the sound bar connected to the tv through hdmi/arc with the cable that came with the sound bar. i keep getting a notice on my tv that the arc connection is not supported. it will only give me sound if i connect via wifi or through optical, neither of which promotes the quality of sound as arc. i have tried different hdmi cables and unplugged everything and plugged it back in. i had it working for a few hours and then it cut out and went back to wifi. the wifi connection sounds horrible (no depth) and leaves you with no choices to adjust any of the sound settings. according to a few support group websites, this has been a problem with samsung for a while.
i was surprised quality of sound of the soundbar. its quite compact but it produces sound comparable to my sound cinema system witch is much more heavy and expensive.
one very annoying to me disadvantage: it automatically switches to earc source when a connected tv is on. i tried to change to din but it doesn't work! again jumps to earc. i can't listen my favorite music from other source and have tv on in the same time. this is especially useful when it goes ads or you use your tv for displaying source without sound (like picture gallery). i know that the future makes sense, but it should be possibility to disable it! does anyone know a workaround for that?
For starters this come packaged compact but securely which was nice. I was a little nervous about the set up but since I have a Samsung TV it practically set itself up. The directions are simple and easy to follow but I didn't even need them. I like how there is a little window in the right corner that shows on, off, volume level, and mode. Its good to know you're not just hitting buttons. For the price the sound was impressive. It remained crystal clear even at hi volume levels. It also sounds like you have multiple speakers around the room now I can't wait to hear how it will sound when we actually do! The subwoofer is good. It isnt anything chest rattling but i wasnt expecting it to. Absolutely worth the price .
Q70T soundbar is slowly growing on me. I liked how easy it was to set up. Hook up your power cable, HDMI, or your digital cable power up the soundbar and then the bass speaker and it should automatically pair. I definitely recommend hooking up this soundbar using the HDMI eARC the added benifits are worth it, for one as soon as I turn my TV on the soundbar comes on it also allows me to adjust the soundbar volume with the TV remote. The sound is pretty good in our den, I will say the sound every now and then leaves me wanting more But that could just be the audio source I may be using at the time. I have played some Amazon HD music using the fire tv cube and that sounds great! I will keep messing with the setting and update.
I've been using this sound bar for last couple of days and every single time I turn on the TV and experience the awesome dolby Atmos sound. Compared to TV speakers this sound bar delivers great sound experience . I can't imagine watching TV without it. especially Movies. bluetooth connectivity allows me to connect my phone and enjoy the Sound Cloud and any other music apps. Smart Things makes life so much easier.
I received my Samsung Q70T soundbar and set it up in my small dining area to a 43" Samsung TV. My initial thoughts based on the look and feel of the soundbar was positive. The soundbar is built solidly and the form blends well with my TV. I bought a 3rd party mount that supported the weight of the bar (again, solid build). My TV is a little bit older so I had to use the Toslink Optical connection between the TV and the bar, but once that was settled, the rest was a breeze. The sound for such a small bar and sub is amazing. It's only a 3.1 system, however it filled the room with all the sound needed to make it feel like a much larger sound system. There is a small display on the front right side of the bar that is fairly easy to read. It lets you know what sound setting you are on, the source, the volume level. All in all it is worth the Samsung name. I am happy with it, very happy.

bought it awhile ago and at first it worked great, but now about every 3-4 weeks i have to unplug both my tv and my soundbar wires to get it to actually work, the sound will just stop coming out of it despite saying its connected. it was the only thing i could find online on how to fix this problem, don't know if it's because my samsung tv is older or what. the sound is amazing when it is working, but i have to be careful that the soundbar doesn't turn off automatically while the tv is still on or else the problems will start up again.
At first I wasnt sure this soundbar was going to be able to produce the sound that I was looking for since I have a Bose system in my open space living room. However, once I set up this soundbar and sub to my backyard patio TV, OMG!!! Looks sleek and the LED lights compliment the bar. The sound that comes from the bar and the sub blows you away. The different sound modes make this soundbar a must have. You can hear the games and movies all aorund you or if you're playing video games the sound makes you feel as though you are in the game. I have the Smart Things app and if I forget to turn off any device, I just open up my app and turn my Samsung sound bar and TV off via the app. Alexa is built in and works amazingly. this is the first 3.1.2 channel speaker set I have owned and I am blown away!
Setup for this soundbar was incredibly easy including the wall mount. Followed the instructions and everything went well. The Subwoofer connected to the soundbar automatically once it was powered up. Soundbar became default device for my Samsung TV after connecting the digital optical cable.
Sound was great through the digital optical cable but I switched to the HDMI connected to the eARC port in order to enable the Dolby Atmos functionality. Tested sound with streaming movies that supported Dolby Atmos and the sound was great. Surround sound quality was the best I have heard forma soundbar, still not the same as true surround sound, was noticeable.
Soundbar easily connected with Samsung Smart Things. A popup window showed up when I opened the app, I clicked past it the first time and was not able to add the sound bar through the standard "Add Device" functionality so I had to restart the app to get the popup to show up again. ONce the soundbar was connected to Smart Things it showed up automatically in my google home devices. I was not able to set it up as a standalone speaker. There is supposedly a work a round by setting it up as a bluetooth speaker to a google home device but I have not tried it.
Overall the sound quality is great, setup was incredibly easy, and it looks good wall mounted with ny TV. 4-star rating because of the inability to use as a standa lone speaker and also because the cable management could be a little better. The ports on the back are spaced a ways apart from each other so grouping the cables together for aesthetics is not very easy.
The arrival of my sound bar couldn’t have been more perfectly timed had a group of friends coming over for a football game on Thursday night and the sound bar arrive just enough time for me to install it before the game started. It felt like we were in the stands the base rumbling through our tummies the sound feeling the living room everyone cheering and hollering but the sound from the bar was crystal clear and never missed a beat. Literally! My living room is now the designated TV watching spot for our friends and family!
In true Samsung fashion, the audio is perfection. I purchased a sound at previously and this upgrade was worth every Penny. The sound at itself was a little longer and has a sturdier weight and feel. The subwoofer is more streamlined and the speaker opening on the side is new to our setup. The system is Bluetooth and wireless for those seeking that capability. You can use wired sound, however the Bluetooth features allow for not only easy setup but also help avoid the need for unsightly cables and/or holes drilled to camouflage them. I would and have recommended this to family and friends.
I have used a variety of Samsung products, but never anything from the home audio category. I was looking forward to replacing my old soundbar with something more compatible with my Q6 TV, and it has certainly lived up to expectations. Setup was very easy as I was able to wirelessly connect it to my TV using bluetooth. One nice feature is that the soundbar automatically shuts off when it is not connected to bluetooth. The subwoofer can be placed anywhere in the room and it automatically connects to the soundbar. The soundbar is very slim and easily fits beneath the TV on a stand or mounted to the wall. The sound is very high quality, allowing you to clearly hear dialogue and sound effects concurrently. The soundbar does a great job of projecting sound in different directions, giving a surround effect. I highly recommend the Samsung HW-Q70T as it provides the quality that Samsung is known for at a great value.
I was excited to receive this sound bar because I just use the speakers off of my TV. And they're not the greatest but they get the job done. But I wanted more. Recently my family have been watching the Marvel movies in order and this sound bar gave use such a better watching experience. I felt like the dialog in the movies and shows I've watched so far is a lot clearer. I felt like the bass could maybe be a little better but it's still good. It was really easy to set up. It does have two power cords, one for the bar and the other for the subwoofer. But I do like that the subwoofer is not that big in size. My main drawback is that the bar blocks my sensor on my TV for the remote, but that is just something that is on me. And nothing for the product. So if you have a sensor on the bottom in the middle of your TV to measure the distance so you won't have the same issue as me.
I love the new addition to my living room entertainment. I can hear clearly without straining and have a better sound experience. I also paired with my phone and could listen to my favorite songs. The game pro mode is awesome when watching sports and you can hear players on the football field more clearly. I also love that I can change the volume controls from my Alexa. This is really cool!
Being an audiophile with a history of surround sound setups for the last two decades, I was intrigued by the option of a soundbar to declutter the living room and consolidate the equipment. Out of the box, the soundbar has a sleek, clean look, and tucks under the legs of the TV for a seamless and unobtrusive look on the entertainment center. The cord design with the raised plug area allows you to hide the cords behind the TV and the speaker as to not create the eyesore that my wired surround sound system suffered. The cord for the subwoofer was sufficiently long that it could be placed in an ideal location, and not as far the cord would allow.
Pairing the Samsung soundbar with my Samsung Q70 QLED TV in the living room provides the benefit of integration across a single environment, which made the set up of the new system far more simplistic than adding another branded device. The accompanying manual was quite brief, but my familiarity with the Samsung TV interface made it easier to identify the options for setting up the soundbar integration. There are several options to connect the audio (wired or wireless): Bluetooth; optical cable; ARC/HDMI. The greatest strength in customization was actually through the TV interface. I found the ability to use the remote for setup limiting, especially with lacking information in the manual on the settings.
The sound quality is solid for a 3.1 soundbar. I have adjusted the bass level up in relation to the treble and am using adaptive sound. The two areas where I've been less impressed compared to my surround system is the depth of the sound and the function of the subwoofer. With the subwoofer turned all of the way up, the sound is faint and lacks the characteristic bass resonance expected from a separate box. The more I have used the bar, the better I've learned the volume controls and have tweaked the center, left and right balance for a better listening experience. This will not serve as a substitute for the immersive experience of a surround sound system; however, this creates a solic upgrade from the onboard sound of the television for a more engaging experience.
One final area of folding this into the Samsung experience is the integration with Smart Things. The ability to control the sound through the TV remote, the specific soundbar remote or through the ST app helps reduce clutter on the coffee table. The other great feature is the ability to tap your cellphone to turn the soundbar into a BT speaker.
The Q70T achieves the goal in the mid-priced range
I have several home theater setups in my home, as when I have the time to watch TV or movies I like to be immersed in the experience. The Q70T is what I'd call a midrange price point at $400, with low end stuff at $150 or less and High end at $700 or more. The setup is a breeze and the Bluetooth works as it should. I have this setup in my bedroom as I had no need for earth shaking bass in there. I was setting my standard rather low, but was pleasantly surprised at the performance of this unit. The sound was clear and precise. The bass was enough to satisfy my desires for that setup. My bedroom is not gigantic, however the sound emulation is quite pleasing. Whether that has anything to do with room size, I do now know. I've owned several Samsung sound bars over the years, and they have rarely let me down. I did not add the rear speakers, so the possibility of expansion of the system could potentially deepen the experience. In short, if you're looking for a sub five hundred dollar quality sound bar, this unit will fit the bill.
The Samsung Q70T soundbar exceeded my expectations. The soundbar replaced a full 5.1 setup with huge tower speaker and I will never look back. The sound is amazing!!! The connectivity is amazing!!!! Setup was super simple. My wife really appreciated the cleaner setup and the web of wires that was removed after installing the Samsung.
I was very excited to get my hands on the first soundbar I've ever had. I have several 5.1 systems in my house along with my main system being 7.2. With that said, I cleared my mind so as not to compare the HGW-Q70t 3.1.2ch soundbar to those systems, but judge it on its own.
The first step with any new toy is taking it out of the box. The Q70T is simplistic in form, the soundbar and a sub. It comes with a remote, an HDMI cable, power adapters for both the sub and the soundbar, and mounting brackets. The SmartThings app enhances control, connects to wifi, and Echo devices (music only). The soundbar fits nicely under the TV I have on the bureau (this is for the guest room) and does not impede the view at all due to its low profile. The sub isn't that big which I placed it on the floor next to the bureau. Once everything was setup and plugged in, it was simple to pair the sub to the soundbar. It was then time to test it out.
The soundbar has an optical in, HDMI, HDMI to TV (Arc), and a USB storage device connection for software upgrades. For my purposes, I connected the soundbar to my Fios cable box with an optical cable for the best sound possible. I set up with the app, and then used the remote. My use for the soundbar is mostly for TV watching with the ability to stream music through bluetooth. There are four sound modes - standard, surround, game pro, and adaptive sound. I used surround, as I was not overly impressed with the adaptive sound, and surround gave it a warmer cleaner sound to my ears. I tweaked the sound adjusting treble, bass, center level, front top level, and sub level until I felt I had the best sound for the room. There is an available wireless rear speaker kit if you want to upgrade to 5.1.2 (SWA-9000S).
I experimented with clips from several movies - Alita;Battle Angel, Expendables 2, Captain Marvel. It's a tad difficult to explain the sound, but I'll try. First, I find the sub to be a bit weak. I set it to it's highest level, but the bass was there but not that impressive. It provided a full sound, but not even close to a standalone sub. The soundbar sounded just slightly hollow for lack of a better term. The sound felt just a little removed, enough for me to notice, but it didn't distract. It gets to a decent volume and I didn't hear any distortion. I caught some sound wrapping to the sides, but never behind me.
Overall I was impressed with price to value. It's very good sound if you are on a tight budget. I am satisfied.
Don't let this small package fool you. It packs a lot of punch in its small footprint. The attention to detail is expected from Samsung, but the seamless implementation into the Q90F TV is superb. It was just a matter of plugging it into the HDMI and Power. The TV recognized it and immediately transferred the audio output to it. The output is much greater than most with a higher wattage, so it is not really like you are missing out. The addition to SmartThings allows you to take it a step further into your home sound system. The hardest part was mounting the brackets to mount it to the wall and that took a whole 5 minutes, after spending 10 minutes finding a level. Highly recommended.
This Samsung HW-Q70T Soundbar produces a room full of sound. When I listen to audio it bothers me when I can hear where the audio is coming from, I like the sound to be natural and all around. This soundbar delivers on this expectation, in both the Adaptive and Surround mode this soundbar fills the room with sound. This is our first Dolby Atmos enabled soundbar and we like the fact that sound for the entire room can be produced from a single soundbar through the use of additional upward facing speakers that bounce sound off of the ceiling. We have a Samsung QLED television hooked up through HDMI ARC and find that it works seamlessly with this soundbar. The television and soundbar work as if they are a single device. The remote controls for the two devices, television and soundbar are very similar in look and size so we must be careful not to mix them up, they are not interchangeable. The television remote controls the volume of the soundbar so after you have your sound mode set you can do everything else with the television remote. We have several streaming services that provide Atmos and DTS:X audio for their content and we can hear the difference with the enhanced sound. We have Samsung cell phones with Samsung SmartThings installed which allows us to control this soundbar, television, and other devices with our cell phones. This is great when we misplace the remote, but also when we want to download software updates for the soundbar. There is a way to download updates to a USB and then plug the USB intro the soundbar to apply updates, but we did not have to go this route. There were updates to the soundbar which we applied. Tap to play works well. If you have near field communications enabled on your Samsung cellphone you can tap the soundbar to pair it with your phone. I tried this and it was very easy to play music streaming from my cellphone through the soundbar. This soundbar can also be paired using Bluetooth so the connectivity options are endless. As for size and appearance, this soundbar is larger than our previous soundbar, but is not overbearing. We have it sitting in front of the television and it is working out well. This soundbar is quite a nice addition to our home, we are very pleased with the audio and integration that it provides.
The Samsung HW-Q70T adds so much theater quality to my home entertainment set up. The unboxing of the soundbar was seamless with easy to follow step-by-step instructions. The soundbar projects clarity and bass that makes the moving watching experience immersive. The look of the soundbar is modern and black with powercord connections in the back. I am impressed at how seamless the Bluetooth connection pairs, the soundbar is set as my default audio output. The remote is modern with a simple design. Overall, the Samsung HW-Q70T has impressed me in sound quality and has improved my home entertainment!
The sound quality on the HW-Q70T is one of the best I have heard. The sound is deep and rich. The design of the sounder is simple, but refined. The crosshatch design on the main unit is attractive and the subwoofer is solid. The set up of the soundbar couldn't have been any easier. It was intuitive and the instruction manual really was not even needed if you've ever set anything up like this before. The HW-Q70T is easy to use for both me and my wife, who is not a technophile, but loves to play her music. The HW-Q70T immediately added itself to my home Alexa speakers and my wireless network with little effort after downloading the associated Samsung app. I have one other soundbar and without a doubt this one is better than that one.
setup was really intuitive. good connection with smart things.sound was great, would recommend using hdmi arc with dolby atmos for best sound. wish cable management was a little better. couldn't setup as a stand alone speaker with google assistant.
When it comes to audio and home theater, I am both an audiophile and a snob. There is nothing quite like separate wired speakers for a true theater experience, but the wired speaker setup does not always fit in every room. I needed a great sounding speaker system without all the wires and speakers for my master bedroom. I have had several different setups, but I am finally happy with the Samsung Q70t 3.1 ch soundbar. The system provides room-filling sound in a small package. The soundbar is designed to be small and thin, so it looks great under large flat-screen TVs, such as the Samsung QLED TVs, or in my case, the Samsung Frame. If you have a Samsung QLED TV, then this is the ideal soundbar for you. It is designed to work perfectly with a QLED TV and the artificial intelligence built into the QLED models. The QLED models have the ability to auto-calibrate the sound from the soundbar to the room environment and what is playing on the TV at the the moment. If you don't have a QLED model TV, the soundbar still uses adaptive sound to what is playing on the TV at the moment, but does not take into account the room environment. The soundbar sounds great, and the wireless subwoofer provides more than enough bass for a medium to a large room with no distortion. One of the greatest things about this soundbar is the ability to hear dialogue clearly. So many of the soundbars I have owned claim to have this ability but don't. With the q70T, the dialogue is clear, even in loud background action sequences or heavy bass moments. The soundbar also produces a lifelike surround sound effect even with just 3.1 channels. The Dolby Atmos feature is a nice add-on and does enhance the sound when present, but it in no way equals a true surround setup. Overall, the sound is, rich, full, and clear. The additional sub makes a big difference in rounding out the sound. All of the sound, including the bass can be adjusted within the Samsung Smart Things app. Using the app also unlocks additional features if you have a Samsung phone such as Tap to play, which allows you to tap the phone against the speaker to transfer audio or video to the TV. The soundbar also has Alexa built in, which is great if you don't already have an Alexa in the room. For me, it was redundant becuase I have a Fire TV Cube that I use to control the TV. Overall, this is a great soundbar, and at the price point, it is one of the best on the market.
1. supports all modern codecs including dts:x and dolby atmos 2. room filling sound with ample bass. 3. high end design and build quality with metal grill 4. works with smartthings app 5. good for both movies and music
this sound bar changes to ‘game mode’ every. single. time.
every single time i turn on my tv, the sound bar switches itself from standard mode to game mode, and i have to manually change it back. what about if the tv is currently on and i’ve already manually switched it off game mode? it likes to switch itself then too. changing inputs? game mode. paused a movie to go grab a drink? game mode.
purchased almost 90 days ago. sounded great and then it didn't. constantly drops out, has choppy sound affecting the voice aspect the worst. i've changed out hdmi cables, tried different inputs, etc...etc... now i have to find packing material purchase and then pack the soundbar to ship to be "fixed". unfortunately for me i have recently had knee surgery and can't get this thing to ups or fedex. smh
don't do it...save yourself the time of having to return it. i purchased the hw-q70t 3.1.2 soundbar with wireless subwoofer on 10/30 and returned it on 11/1. the setup was easy and the sound was decent but to me the price didn't meet the performance. the subwoofer was incredibly weak. my alexa echo has more bass. the volume on the subwoofer it too low and you have to turn up the entire unit to get the bass performance. so many things about this device is frustrating but the number one issue is the connectivity. it disconnects randomly whether you connect with hdmi or bluetooth. you can always return it but you can't return your time spent fooling with it.
I purchased this soundbar a couple of months ago because it was onsale for an incredible price. I set it up immediately and paired it with my Q90R TV. Setup was super easy. But that was it and I then understood why the price was so low.
When using the soundbar, it wasn't much different than using the speakers from the TV. It was a little louder but the base was not very good. The room I had it in is not very big so that was not the problem. It seemed like the sound level and quality was the same as a $130 soundbar I have in another room.
Then after a couple of weeks of use, it stopped working. It stopped turning on with the TV. Then I would manually turn it on, which it would stay on a couple of seconds and then go off.
After this repeatedly went on a couple of days I sent it in to Samsung for servicing. They were unable to fix it and the refund/replacement process was awful dealing with the rude Samsung representatives.
I have since replaced it with the HW-Q80R and it is a world of difference. For the price and the quality of the HW-Q70T it is not worth it. It seems like this soundbar is better suited for lesser model TV's with poor speakers. It does appear to be Q level.
