Fantastic Integrated Amp with Old School Approach
Had this fantastic amp for some 10 months now and been enjoying its wonderful sound. I had an emotional attachment to my former tube equipment, circa 1960s, but its performance had seriously faded over the years. Delighted that Marantz is once again producing grade A equipment that delivers clarity and warmth (great phono stage!, and is designed for those who are not looking for flash or gimmickry.

Marantz PM8006 - pure gold!
Phenomenal integrated amp…I love the old school design and the build quality is so solid. Definitely a more impressive amp than offerings from the competition at a similar price point. The sound was a pure magic with a warm, vintage vibe with the EQ engaged and a very pure clean signal when running it source direct. This is the best piece of audio equipment I’ve bought in decades…highly, highly recommended.

Worth the wait!
We purchased and received the Marantz PM8006 amplifier/receiver. I had read many reviews over a variety of publications in order to make as good a choice as possible. We have both a CD player and turntable and play a variety of music, including classical music. Therefore the clarity and separation of sound was our most important factor. The Marantz has provided all of that, as well as being very straightforward to install. We couldn't be more pleased with our purchase!

Different world
This thing brought live sound to my system and my room. What I noticed since hour 1: sound is everywhere, not just atrached to the speakers. This Marantz really gives and works in union with my Klipch Piano Black, the old Yamaha used to fight with the speakers.

Extremely fine detail in lows and mids, for now highs are smooth which is ok but lets see whats will be later

I am musician and for me it was amazing to hear my songs sounding that smoot and perfect. Bass here could not be damaged, smashed, beaten or destorted, it is always carried by angels wings. No matter where are you in the room, the sound is rich, balanced, bold and classy.

Old School Sound!
I have owned this Integrated Amp for almost two weeks and I am thoroughly impressed by it. It gives me more than enough power for my listening area; in fact, I have only passed halfway once or twice. The sound is clean, rich, sweet, balanced, and really good. I would counsel anyone who has recently bought this amplifier to give it a few days for break in. I almost sent mine back after the second day because it did not sound as good as the PM6006 that I had. It had a thin sound to it, but after about that third day I could not pull myself away from it. I listen mostly in Source Direct mode, but it is nice to have the option of using the tone controls to make personal adjustments when the need arises. The PM8006 has taken me back to my glory days of audio and I am so glad I made this purchase for the love of music!

PM8006 after 1.5 years
This is a quality piece of audio equipment, I use it with KEF LS50s and a KEF sub. It is easy to use, and integrates well with the ND8006. The LS50s are kind of power hungry, so I bridged the wiring to bump the amplification up to 100 WPC, and I did notice a slight loss of detail when I did that. But overall a nicely built and reasonably affordable integrated amplifier.

I am hoping to upgrade to the Model 30s and floorstanding speakers someday, if you have a trade in program I can do that soon,

Great integrated amp!
I enjoy the clean and warm sound of the Marantz integrated amp. 70 watts of power are more than enough to power my efficient Forte lll’s and give me the sounds of a live performance. Being a vinyl enthusiast, I thoroughly enjoy the phono stage. Love the triple tone controls as an option to listening in source direct. Great investment!

Is it essentially in bi-amp mode if both speaker terminals (A+B) are used?
A shopper on Mar 6, 2018
Thanks for your question. In this case, you're actually bi-wiring, rather than bi-amplifying. While the users manual suggests using both the speaker A and B connections, I'm presuming it's for the convenience of not having to make multiple connections to the same terminals. The speaker A and B feeds come from the same amplifier outputs so you may connect both pair of speaker wires to the speaker A terminals if you so desire. I hope that helps.
dO THE SPEAKER OUTPUTS (A and B) work at the same time, or just individually?
A shopper on Dec 12, 2017
You can use both at the same time, but using A+B will raise the minimum rated impedance to 8 ohm - if your speakers are 4 ohm, you will only be able to use one or the other.
is there a pass thru feature for my av amp?
A shopper on Nov 4, 2018
If you plan to use the PM8006 to power your main speakers, connect the L & R pre-outs from your surround unit to the 'Power Amp Direct In' jacks. For surround use you would select 'Power Amp Direct', and for 2-channel listening you would operate the unit normally.
