Great functionality, but spotty EARC with Sony TV
I have been extremely pleased with my experience with my NR1711. This being my first foray into Marantz, this unit came highly recommended. I've loved it, except it just appears that there are some bugs in the handshake between my Sony X950H TV and the receiver as TV audio over EARC has been problematic, only solvable by restarting the TV, similar to getting my Nvidia shield to behave properly.

Would Have Liked More
A lot of features I am looking for. Disappointed in lack of audio outputs as I have reel to reel and some other analog recording devices. Creating lossless files from vinyl for on the road would be nice. However, all of the other features and capabilities of this device are outstanding. Trying to figure out why only one FM station, while recognized, has no sound, all the others do.

Connections were simple and setup seamless. For the price range a great value.

Space. Have you any suggestions for a quality smal
I needed a small tuner amplifier and then I only have a 30 1/2“ x 7“ holes that I can have in a rock fireplace to put my tuner amplifier and my speakers. I am having trouble finding quality speakers that would fit roughly in a 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 x X Space. Have you any suggestions for a quality small speaker that could be put in this area??

Wonderful and civilized AVR
The old SR 6003 i had as the center of the system was getting a bit old. also having bought a 4k TV recently necessitated getting a new AVR.
the NR1711 is absolutely wonderful. not as powerful as the 6003 (who needs that much power in a normal living room but warmer better sound -- which is amazing, since the 6003 was really good.
I have it in a 5.1 configuration, going into existing set of really good 4ohm speakers. i mostly listen to music and stream movies; sometimes sports. it does all those wonderfully in a small attractive package.
very happy -- highly recommended

Noticeable Upgrade
An upgrade to my TV showed up some shortcomings in my 10 year old Receiver, so off to the dealer who recommended this model or a larger competitor model. The slimline design of the 1711 won the day. Once set up it absolutely showed an improvement in the clarity and expansiveness off my 10 year old 5.1 speakers, so much so that I replaced the FLR and Sub to really give the Marantz the partner speakers it deserve. Very happy with this receiver as it has noticeably transformed my Home Theatre experience.

I have Bose 901 speakers that require an equalizer. Will this receiver operate with my Bose equalizer?
John C on Apr 29, 2021
Thanks for your inquiry. The NR1711 has neither a tape monitor loop or pre-out / main-in capability. It will not accommodate an equalizer.
Hello - I have mirage os3-fs floor standing speakers. Do you believe this receiver has enough power for them?
Nik lom on Apr 12, 2021
Thanks for your inquiry. The NR1711 is rated 50W per channel (8 ohm, 20Hz 20kHz, 0.08% THD, 2ch. Drive). The Mirage are rated 93dB efficient, for amplifiers rated 10 175 watts. The Marantz will drive them quite well. At higher volumes the Marantz like many similarly rated multi-channel AV receivers can be over driven to the point of clipping distortion which has the potential to damage the speakers.
