Very good, but two things could greatly improve it
I've owned this, but recently upgraded to the 30N. The ND8006 is generally very good and excellent sounding for the money. Its two main shortcomings, in my opinion, are that it doesn't have SACD playback and the jitter control function, i.e. the 'Lockdown Range', is poor and something that it should not have and should be eliminated in a successor model of there is one. The jitter reduction should be optimized in the design and should not be adjustable by the user. I found that the optimal setting would be about half way between the Medium and Narrow, but of course, there are only 3 settings. It's just a dumb feature, and I was happy to not see it in the 30N. And no SACD playback when the trouble was gone to include a whole drive for CD playback just makes no sense. I can't tell you how many people I've come across online who passed on this model solely because it didn't have SACD playback. Moreover, the DAC chip does native DSD decoding, i.e. no conversion to PCM first, and even DSD files played back from the front USB drive are decoded natively. So it just makes no sense to not have SACD in a unit at this price point.

constant network connection concerns
This ND8006 unit constantly get disconnected from HEOS while other network systems I have work perfectly fine. System is useless if it wont work. Heos account technical service reps constantly tell me there is no problem yet I can not always get music. Don't waste your money.

intermittent Network
I've had the ND8006 for a little over 3 months. It looses it's Network connection often making it a rather annoying piece of electronics. I have to set it up 3-5 times a week after it looses the network and then setup success is sporadic . I do have a rather robust Network do double that is the problem

One-of-a-kind Audio Gear
I bought the Marantz ND8006 not totally realizing what a complete digital audio solution it is. You will need no other gear- it streams from essentially any programmer/source who broadcasts over the internet or satellite. It plays CDs. Connect a USB drive with all your digital audio files and you've just expanded the capabilities of this thing. Connect your phone or laptop via bluetooth for audio (it's also a receiver. Set up the HEOS app, and be prepared to be amazed at what it can do. Solidly built, stunning sound and feature-rich. It is the best audio gear I have ever purchased.

unreliable Air Play 2 functionality
While the feature set and musical quality is excellent, the reliability of Air Play 2 functionality is terrible. Connecting via Air Play is often problematic, and hit and miss. Further, music streaming frequently fails and has to be reconnected or restarted mid song.

Great sound and convenience.
Great sound fidelity and easy switching between formats of CD, internet radio, and AirPlay. It has helped me combine three components into one.

Does the ND 8006 support SACD? I looked in the Specifications and, unless I missed it, did not see SACD. Thanks
