Best contrast and picture
Got this TV for the 'Filmmaker Mode' settings and it does not disappoint. The colors are about perfect and the darks are DARK. Crisp and sharp.

Very Happy So Far
Our 13 years old 67" DLP projection TV was beginning to give us a lot of trouble (frequent reboots, tuner problems, and 15 to 20 minutes for the picture to come on after turning TV on, so I started researching for a replacement TV. I went back and forth between one of the new Neo QLED Mini-LED TVs or an LG OLED TV. My research revealed that OLED had the best picture with inky blacks, excellent contrast, and good motion handling. My big concerns about OLED was image retention (burn in), brightness of the panel, and reflections (the screen is glossy). My decision had come down to two models, one of the competitor's high end 75" Neo QLEDs or the new LG 77" C1 OLED. The price difference wasn't that much (about $200), so price wasn't the determining factor between QLED and OLED. Best Buy ran a sale on last year's 2020 model LG 77" CX OLED. The sale price of the CX was nearly $700 cheaper than the regular price of the 2021 LG C1 and approximately $500 cheaper than the Neo QLED model I was considering. I found that there was not a lot of difference between the performance of C1 and CX so why not save $700? Best Buy has a 14 days return policy so I told my wife "let's try the LG 77" CX OLED, if we don't like it we can return it and get the Neo LED or the LG C1". I ordered the LG CX and had it delivered to a local Best Buy store. It arrived in less than a week. The 77" CX is a big TV, but assembly and installation was fairly easy with a helper.

When I turned the TV on, all I could say was WOW! Why did it take me so long to decide to get the LG 77" CX OLED? Best picture on a TV I have ever seen! The living room we have our TV in is not very bright with only a patio door on an adjacent wall next to the TV. The LG CX is plenty bright as I had to turn down the OLED panel light. The CX does an excellent job handling any reflections in the room. The floor lamp directly across from the CX is not an issue. I'm really not concerned about image retention as we seldom watch stations that have static logos or banners.

I have found that the best picture mode for us is the "isf Expert (Bright Room)". I did make slight adjustments to "sharpness" and "TruMotion". I found a good balance between the "Soap Opera Effect" and image detail.

Overall we are very pleased with our LG 77" CX OLED TV. It is by far the best picture we have seen on any TV. We find ourselves noticing minute details, such as scars on actors faces that we had never seen before. We highly recommend the LG CX TV. If you are on the fence between QLED and OLED don't wait...get an OLED! We hope the LG 77" CX will give us good service and last as long as our old DLP projection TV did.

Excellent Image, Very good Sound, meh Remote
Setting up the TV was pretty easy, but the Remote required several calls to LG for assistance. Documentation virtually zero, LG's video support is obsolete - demonstrates how to use a different remote. I paired the TV with an LG Sound Bar. Integrating the three devices - TV, Soundbar, Remote - required another phone support session. A really nice Remote feature is Quick Access; you have to experiment to set it up, but once done it is a game changer.

High Quality Tech
This is a great tv. Cutting edge yet not priced like it. Only things I’d say is it is highly reflective so not good for bright rooms, settings is confusing, and if you’re getting 65”+ either have a friend help you move and set it up, or prepare to get very creative to do it by yourself.

The tv is outstanding. Colors are amazing, features galore, great channels and it will even turn on automatically by clicking a movie to watch on you tube and wala, your tv turns itself on and sets to proper receiver settings and you're watching.
