A relentless pursuit of better sound
Klipsch never quits. A look back at the company’s lengthy history reveals endless innovation and refinement, even when previous models delivered class-leading performance. And with the Reference Series, Klipsch has established a level of quality that’s nearly impossible to beat. The all-new RF-7 III Floorstanding Speaker is the company’s new crown jewel, loaded with enhanced components for utterly spectacular sound, marking one of the company’s finest achievements to date!
Hand-built craftsmanship
Klipsch handcrafts its RF-7 III Floorstanding Speaker cabinets in Hope, Arkansas, finishing them with furniture grade wood veneers and astounding attention to detail. In fact, each speaker features a rear-mounted plaque signed by its factory assembler.
The RF-7 III’s cabinet contains separate chambers that allow each of the 10” spun copper Cerametallic woofers to work independently from the other. This isolation eliminates standing waves inside the enclosure, but also improves the linear movement of both drive systems for pure uncolored sound.
Redesigned horn technology
Horn technology is one of the hallmarks of a Klipsch speaker, and the RF-7 III Floorstanding Speaker introduces an all-new design. The system utilizes a new 1.75” titanium diaphragm compression driver with a new phase plug crafted for improved phase coherency and linearity at high frequencies. The outer compressed molded rubber Tractrix Horn features a circular throat paired to a square mouth. Its design delivers high frequencies that sound less harsh, carry more detail, and have pinpoint directionality as they pour into your room.
Cast frame woofer design
There’s no mistaking the look of Klipsch’s gorgeous spun copper Cerametallic woofers, something the company says represents the pinnacle of Klipsch driver design (our ears certainly approve!). The RF-7 III sports upgraded driver materials, such as a heavy-duty cast aluminum frame, that help to preserve resonant-free playback. And the driver’s native cone materials are exceptionally rigid and lightweight, creating a system cable of powerfully deep distortion-free bass.
Ensure great sound
While the RF-7 III floorstander is an incredibly efficient speaker, you’ll unlock its true dynamic range capabilities when you mate it to a powerful amplifier. Audio source’s AMP 3120VS Stereo Power Amplifier can deliver an impressive 150 Watts per channel while the Marantz MM7025 2 Channel Home Theater Power Amplifier offers 140 Watts of performance. And if you’d like to introduce audiophile-grade high-end flair, consider the uber powerful NAD Electronics M22 Hybrid Digital Power Amplifier.
And for a powerful home theater experience, add a Klipsch’s RC-64 III Center Channel for true reference grade center channel performance!

The RF-7iiis can play louder (with somewhat more bass out-put) over the RP-8000Fs. - both towers can play very clear sound.

I do have the front 3 powered by an emotiva DR3 amp. I believe that’s over 450watts per channel, but I’m not positive. But I would highly recommend a dedicated amp to get the most out of these. The headroom will blow up your room and ears with distortion free musical bliss.
I’m not sure if I like the rf7 ii or iii’s better. I have both. But supposedly the iii’s are a little less bright. But I like the iii’s sound also, so not sure.

When listening to music I am generally using Amazon Music HD, sending 24bit 192KHz PCM audio over HDMI to the receiver. Listening in 2.1 mode. I am certain that everyone will compliment these speakers for the thunderous low end, but what I love the most is the detail and balance - clarity across the whole range. The horns provide vibrant highs/mids and the 10s provide a depth to music I have heretofore not experienced. Flat out the most amazing thing next to live music. From classical to jazz to rock, hip/hop, and EDM these speakers handle it all with aplomb. Want some good examples. Listen to some of these to really gain an appreciation:
Muddy Waters - My Home is in the Delta
Etta James - At Last
Fleetwood Mac - Landslide
Neil Young - Old Man
Pearl Jam - Yellow Leadbetter
Counting Crows - Omaha
The White Buffalo - House of the Rising Sun
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dark Necessities
Disturbed - The Sound of Silence
Beastie Boys - Brass Monkey
Buena Vista Social Club - Chan Chan
Rogues - Queen of Lost Scots
The Moog - These City Lights
From amazing vocal depth to detailed instrumentation - just all around amazing. I could add many more to this list. Have tested a few movies so far, but a few of my favorites are Transformers, The Matrix, Wall-E, and Saving Private Ryan.
Bottom line, I always look forward to firing these up and just immersing myself in the audio.
