Quality is in the details

The name Klipsch is synonymous with quality and easy to drive audiophile grade speakers, all of which are handmade in the company’s Hope, Arkansas manufacturing facility. There, expert assembly engineers carefully craft every detail that makes a Klipsch speaker special.  The company’s Reference series represents the finest Klipsch has to offer – and it shows. Each speaker in the series carries a gorgeous furniture grade finish and a backside plaque signed by its assembler.

Serious performance

Take one look at the front of the RC-64 III Center Channel Speaker and you’ll know it means business.  A quad array of 6.5” spun copper Cerametallic woofers and a single horn loaded tweeter occupy the front side of the speaker’s three-foot wide cabinet.  Each woofer features a heavy-duty cast aluminum frame for resonant-free playback, and superior lightweight construction for minimal distortion. It’s that kind of design that allows the RC-64 III to command audio rounded by tight and punchy bass and a wonderfully articulate mid-range presentation.

New compression driver

One of the RC-64 III Center Channel’s more notable upgrades is an all-new Tractrix horn-loaded tweeter.  The tweeter is a “compression driver” featuring a new phase plug design for improved sound pressure linearity at high frequencies.  And the outer compressed molded rubber horn is a 90° x 90° re-design that utilizes a circular horn throat paired to a square horn mouth.  This pairing helps to eliminate harshness and improve detail for a naturally clean sound with a razor-sharp image.

Great sound across a listening area

A center channel is responsible for up to 70% of the sonic workload in a multi-channel system, that’s why it’s important to choose a speaker that’s designed to sound great no matter where you’re sitting.  The RC-III’s sophisticated crossover network attenuates its outer-edge woofer output at high frequencies, allowing the speaker to maintain a smooth and even sound across an entire seating area. This is important, especially when it comes to dialog, allowing voices to carry realistic tones while staying centered and firmly planted in the middle of a front soundstage.

The perfect match

To make an incredible system, match the RC-64 III Center Channel Speaker with Klipsch’s astoundingly powerful and articulate flagship RF-7 III Floorstanding Speaker.  The RF-7 III features the same new tweeter design for impeccable voice matching, while sporting dual 10” cast basket Cerametallic woofers for serious low frequency output.

LOVE THIS! A MUST HAVE!!!
I upgraded from an RC-52, and the difference is over the top! Before while the RC-52 was great in its own right it was an underdog with my R-26FA's and 112sw. Dialogue is crystal clear even through the thunder from my 112 and RF-7s. My setup is powered only by a Denon x4500h currently and this center is an absolute beast still! The price is steep but if you're on the fence I recommend doing it. You will not regret it and this center will be part of your theater for many years to come! World Wide Stereo also had amazing customer service during the whole experience and will continue to shop with them in the future!

I have the Klipsch Epic II from 1995. Will this center channel work well with those speakers since the Epic speakers are so old?
Ron M on Feb 16, 2020
Thanks for your question. As you state, the Epic II are 20 plus year old technology while the RC-64 is part of the current Reference series from Klipsch. The Epic should share the sonic Klipsch signature with a horn tweeter. It could work well and sound OK but is also may put you on the path to upgrading the Epic to Klipsch Reference series.
