Klipsch R-120SW Subwoofer Overview

Feel the walls shake with thundering bass from your Klipsch R-120SW Subwoofer. The 12” front-firing spun-copper IMG woofer is remarkably lightweight yet rigid and durable at the same time. That means you get a respectably low frequency response and minimal distortion, so you’re hearing pure, undistorted bass. The Line/LFE inputs makes this sub compatible with most home theater receivers, and the low pass crossover and phase control ensure that it blends in smoothly with the rest of your Klipsch system.

Match made in Heaven
My R120SW is paired with RP 600M's and RP 504C across the front with RP 402S in the surrounds with a DenonAVR-X4400H receiver. I couldn't be more pleased with sound of both movies and music.

Bought to supplement my Heresy III's used exclusively for music, of all varieties.
Powered by a Yamaha R-S700 I just wanted some more bottom end. For the price in late November I couldn't pass it up.
Using AudioQuest Huskie subwoofer cable and their Rocket 88 speaker cables bi-wired, I'm getting the sound I remember from the '70's, but with so much more clarity/detail.

Love Star Wars again with this subwoofer. Also Klipsch R-52c to go with it, I plan on purchasing the Main speakers soon. After hearing the subwoofer and the center channel together.I need the whole set. My mains are 15inch Optimus speakers, with a piezo horn tweeter. Built for high volume, lacks the quality of Klipsch speakers by a significant margin

I wish the port was in the front. and i wish the front panel was one piece instead of seeing the ends of the box and a different material for the front board. The SPL12 looks so much better. But I get that is a more expensive woofer.

Serious Punch and Great Sound!
I have this woofer paired with R-51 bookshelves and a Yamaha 683 7.2 surround. This set up is perfect for my living area. As I stated in my review of the R-51's they are not a bass heads speaker. Pure Clarity and enjoyment in a small package. I decided to go with the 12 inch woofer and honestly I couldn't be happier. I have it in a medium sized room and the sound is seriously wall rattling. I run this woofer at around 1/4 to 1/3 power and it is more than enough UMPH for my sized space. This woofer provides clear and deep bass and has been able to keep up with all my music ( Jazz, Classic Rock, Alternative, Hip-Hop, Americana, Bluegrass) you name it this sub will play it.

Klipsch continues to impress
I've always wanted K-Horns but couldn't afford them in my 20s or 30s and I am not willing to afford them today. So, in my 30s, I purchased a pair of Klipsch Chorus IIs. The R-120SW pairs up very nicely with the 22 year old Chorus IIs. I was using a 10 inch Polk sub which was fried by a flicker of the electricity supply during a thunder storms and I could not be more satisfied than I am with the R-120SW replacement. My only regret is that I didn't buy two R-120SWs at the sale price back in November of 2018.
