Amazing Bass
I've used 2 of these subs and a KA-1000 amp for my home theater since 2006. I have the KL-650s across the front and R-5800s as the surrounds. The punch you get from these subs hasn't diminished a bit in the 6+ years I've been listening to them. In fact it gets better as the quality of movie soundtracks gets better. In the past month I've watched Skyfall and Bourne Legacy on Bluray with lossless audio. After all this time I am still startled by the depth and clarity of the KW-120s. The scene in Bourne where they rocket the cabin is stunning through these speakers. It's not just that they're shake-the-room loud. These subs give remarkable definition and detail to the loudest explosions, gunfire, and helicopter rotors. I've changed several components of my system over the past 6 yrs and plan a couple more changes soon but the Klipsch speakers aren't going anywhere. As I mentioned before, as soundtracks get better, so do the KW-120s.

I also own the La Scala's like a previous reviewer, but I only use them (in conjunction with these subs) for music listening; good match. I use the whole THX Ultra2 system for movies. I usually don't take the time to review products but these produce such over the top; totally blow you away; how-the-heck-does-that-much-wall-flexing-pressure-come-out-of-those-little-boxes; earthquake!; fight or flight trauma inducing; PTSD episode triggering; ear-to-ear grining experiences that I had to praise them publicly (I use 4 KW-120-THX subs with 2 of their accompanying KA-1000s). I can't keep things on the shelves. They keep rattling around and falling off when watching The Hulk, Transformers, LOTR, Star Wars, Iron Man and the like. I actually had a house guest scream and jump when the Enterprise went into warp on the last Star Trek movie (2009) with a rib cage cracking boom. I use an SPL meter to set up the room usually at 70-75dB/ch, and run the sub channel 3dB-5dB above the rest of the channels depending on the film and mix, they still sound balanced with the rest of the system and they absolutely just do not care what you throw at them, I'm seriously concerned for the foundation of my house. My girlfriend says my home system's sub rivals the IMAX theater for shear sound immersion, and shock value. Good girlfriend. :)

Rocking my House.
I got a pair along with their amp,on Jan.2013 from another enthusiast who had three pairs in his room(!!!) and they took my system to the ultimate level.
Now I have all the bass I ever dreamed off, and there are times that I believe that the couch I am sitting on,is moving backwards....
I can feel all the kick in my gut, even though the power knob is set at "10 o'clock" and the volume on the receiver does not go above "-10.00db"...

They are are here to stay for a long long time....

Bought these about a month ago. What can I say. I have a home theater system with 4 levels in my home theater about 6 feet up on the 4th level. Bought 5 of these for under the seats under the wood. And 2 in front of the room by the projector. Was recommended to these by a friend and I can't believe the amount of bass this pumps out. Watching a action packed movie or playing some Xbox 360, These rock your room. I would not recommend so many of these if you dont have good insulation in your walls and make sure you have enough amps. And most importantly having a power backup is crucial. If you are on this level of a budget and are a home theater wiz i recommend these

By all means, if you want to have the Ultimate Media - Home Theater experience room, by all means get the ultimate bass system to seamlessly go with it! IMO the KA 1000 Amp to go with 2 of the KW 120 THX subs, will compliment anyone's system. I went old school with older Heritage Klipsch speakers called "La Scala's" all 7 of them and this lower end to keep up with the dynamics and add the powerful punch I needed. It is a powerful home run! It is an amazing system, easy to hook up and dial in, and you will be smiling for years to come! It makes the experience at home, better than at the theater! THX Ultra 2 or not in your system, you will LOVE it!
