First Impressions
I have had the headset for a few days now and I have to say I am really impressed, first of all they are the first headset I have had that works on Discord which is massive for me as I'm always on there and have never been able to voice chat properly before.
I love the design and the personalisation that you can do with the lighting, I have been playing with lots of different combinations and it's almost as much fun as playing the games themselves!
Functionality wise they are brilliant, the ability to switch and blend the volume of the game and chat is amazing and it is probably the best feature. The sound is crisp and clear and you really feel like you can hear which direction the noise is coming from, I find myself turning my head when I hear a shot behind me sometimes it's that realistic.
Comfort wise the ear pads are really soft and the memory foam means that I can wear them for a long time with no discomfort.
First impressions are that these are a serious gaming tool and so far the best I have had by a long way.

Great headset, clear punchy sound.
I really started to use these in anger and initially I thought they sounded a little over powered on the bass with muted highs, but as soon as I installed the Quantum engine software the headset really started to sing and I was shock how good it could sound! I was initially prompted to update the firmware on the headset but this was a painless process that took no more than 2 mins. Calibration was simple using the included calibration earpiece.
The 3d surround effect is so good its almost too immersive, and I find in games this is a real help when trying to locate sounds within the environment.
The box and presentation is great, the materials are very premium and I especially like how comfortable the memory foam ear cushions are.
If I was to make any negative point it would be that the inline mic/chat bias control is more suited for setups that have the cable coming up over the rear of the desk, but this is trivial considering how good the headset performs.

Really nice headset
Really impressed with these headphones for competitive gameplay on Xbox and pc.
lighting effects that surround the outside of the drivers and the logo. Sound performance is exellent The noise cancellation increases the feel of the bass on lower frequency’s, but does not diminish the higher frequency sounds. While playingBattlefield 5, I was able to appreciate more the ambient sound on the single player game.through multiplayer levels I felt they definitely got the edge with the pinpoint sound and you can tell where the enemy is coming from.
I also used them on ACC racing game and the sound quality was awesome almost felt like I was in the car.
coming from a pair of turtle beach headphones.
The Quantum One’s had a better mid range, but it’s to be expected from headphones with larger speakers and more expensive and separate subwoofer. The microphone was clear and crisp to the other players. And did not pick up any ambient sound. Comfort: The headphones never felt heavy (369g) even after 3 hours of online matches. The size of the band and pressure by the cushions was not noticeable. Only on the first use did the tips of my ears feel some soreness, but after adjusting the placement there were no issues. Downside is that you need to plug in the usb (C-A) in order to fully run the drivers. When using only the 3.5mm connection there was not enough power to the drivers and you don’t get the light effects surrounding the outside of the drivers. This just made for a lot of cables when playing with a controller or an arcade stick. Since this pair of headphones are closed off there is small amount of heat that you feel in your ear canal. In my experience this is mainly do to the higher volumes and not from the material. The Quantum One’s didn’t cause any kind of sweat or heat on the outer part of the ear. If you want a solid pair of gaming headphones, I don’t think you can go wrong with this pair. Just understand the cable management when using consoles, and that you’ll need a pc to customize the lighting effects.
overall I would definitely recommend theese headphones if you play on pc or Xbox.
pros
exellent sound quality
great customisation
good microphone
great pinpointing sound
great head tracking.
cons
a lot of cables for full effect
can't think of any more.
would highly recommend for a enthusiast.

Great headphones, should be wireless!!
Very early review but straight out of the box they look really good and are possibly the most comfortable headphones I’ve worn to date. I couldn’t get them working on my Xbox series x tho which is strange so I put them onto my pc and they worked straight away.
The ear cups have some really flashy rgb effects which you can control and alter to a decent degree through the JBL control centre which also allows you to play with the sound settings until you’re happy, or you can simply leave it on the preset which out of the box isn’t great it’s got to be said as it’s bass heavy and not all that sharp and the treble is a little washy but once you’ve set them up properly with the control centre and changed the pc sound settings to 7.1 they sound amazing with clear, crisp, punchy bass and high sweet clear trebles.
I currently own a pair of Astro a50s and if I had to pick between the sound quality I’d have to say that the Astros win for me as they fully support and embrace Dolby which is a godsend on the Xbox series X.
Build quality appears to so far be excellent with thick well made plastics and deep padded ear cups which sit comfortably on your ears for long gaming sessions without any discomfort and with the active surround sound they do a fairly decent effort at keeping outside sounds from intruding, but there was a tiny amount of sound bleeding through so not 100% sound cancellation.

The price!!! The price I feel is the killer here! £230 for a WIRED headset is just naughty! That price range should be wireless! You can pick up the Astro a50s for less and to me they’re a better headset as they’re fully wireless with a long battery life, charging dock stand and endless audio customisation. I can only think that these would drain a wireless headsets battery too fast with the rgb lighting effects so they had to go with fully wired which is a shame. If they went wireless, lost the flashy light show rgb lighting and dropped the price some then I think they’d be a great headset but with no Dolby support. Limited Xbox capabilities. BIG price tag and completely wired then I’m afraid I’d go Astro a50 all day long.

Really disappointed
Got the headphones and tested for over 2 hours of game play and was genuinely disappointed with the build quality. Sound stage felt very small and the simulated 7.1 felt uncomfortable. Active noise cancelling added pressure to the pont it was uncomfortable. Promised a lot but overall was well below what I expected for price of the unit

Good looking headset
I’ve had this headset for a few days now. Straight out of the box, it looks and feels an amazing headset and very sturdy but still light enough to wear for a good few hours. The sound is immense and very clear and deep bass. The sound with a PC game is probably the best as seems to lose a little quality on the Xbox series s and PS4.
It’s very easy to setup, but did require an upgrade to work on the Xbox series s, so I had to download this on my laptop first, which was a bit of a hassle. The cables are long enough if playing on a desk or close to your screen, but not long enough if you want to play while sat in a sofa in your lounge, approx 2m cable, with the sound button half way through. So a wireless function could be a great addition. All in all, a good headset with some smaller flaws, the main one being the cables and their length.

JBL Quantum ONE
The JBL Quantum ONE is a versatile headset, I have only had it for a day or so and can highly recommend. The sound is superior, clean and crisp. The software allows to personalise to your exact need. Its great for FPS as the immersive sound and the ability to hear directional footsteps gives you an edge.

Only great for PCs
I bought it when it was on sale, because I couldn’t pass up the price. As I did more research, I realized it wasn’t worth the price (even on sale) since I would be playing it on the next gen consoles. All of the good features are only for PC. They do work with the consoles, but it seems silly to spend that money and not get to utilize everything that they can do. It would be like buying a car, but not having seats or windows

No Added Features If Console User
Bought this headset for my wife due to the excellent reviews and added features. She is an audio engineer, making her an audio snob, and she plays on both the Xbox One and PS4. I picked the JBL Quantum ONE for it's excellent audio ratings and "system compatibility".

After using these headphones on both Xbox One and the PS4 and speaking to a customer service representative, I would not recommend these headphones to anyone other than PC gamers. Essentially you're buying really pretty headphones. Most additional features are not available to console users, and the headphones must be plugged directly into the console to provide enough power for the RGB lights to work. Noise cancellation is great, but you can get that functionality elsewhere for less money and more features.

Lastly, the software is only Windows compatible, despite advertisements claiming Mac compatibility. We have both Macs and PCs so fortunately, we were able to install, but we would have been screwed otherwise. 100% misleading marketing.

Overall, highly recommend for PC gamers. For all else, keep shopping.
