Great mid-range wireless earphones
With things like this, you often get what you pay for. I'm sure the ones that cost $100 are better, but these are pretty good and reasonably priced. I have the Focus 100 Yurbuds (which I love, and I wanted to graduate to the wireless version, so I bought these. So far, they're great. Perfect fit, no pain. Normal earbuds fall out of my ears and hurt after a time--these don't have those problems whatsoever. The sound is pretty good, except that they are a little weak on the bass side of the spectrum. The rubber earpiece cover seems to be tighter than on my Focus 100 original model earphones, and they are more comfortable because they added some padding that also helps the sound. One thing that I liked about my original Yurbuds is that I could still hear ambient sound, which I understand other customers may not like, but I could hear cars coming behind me while running and people talking to me in the gym. These filter out that ambient noise, which is a little disappointing for me, but other people might like them better for that. The connection skipped a little here and there, but that could have been my ipod.

Great idea, poor execution
Took a while to get used to the phones in the ear, a little fiddly to set in properly. Once they in, they sit on. Almost can't feel them in the ear. The biggest problem, and that pretty much ruins it all, is that the rubber ear pieces come off the little stalk on the ear piece very easily. So, as you pull the phones out of the pocket, bag etc or even as you untangle the the cable, the pesky rubber ear hook just slides off. In one month of owning the phones I managed to lose it at least half a dozen times... thankfully every time I have been able to find it. No I'm not a careless person, and very careful with headphones.

Great wireless headphones for the money!!
Very good. I question those saying "not enough volume". I would suggest they spend a little time with the earbud sizes. I had some sound closing off until I got the right size. Once I got that right, they are very comfortable, reliable, long batter life and stay put. Very good for the price.

They don't get 4 stars from me more for the controls, would prefer more buttons than reusing buttons so much by function. Also the mic for phone calls. It is OK, not great.

Considerably quiet
I bought these looking to replace my jay bird X2's. After using them for a few day, Im pretty disappointed with sound volume. I know this may depend on the device that it is connected to. However, at full volume with the Focus 500's I can easy carry on a conversation with someone while pushing the earbuds into my ears. Jaybirds would deafen me at full volume on the same device. Dont recommend these if you plan on listening to these anywhere other than a library. Maybe wait until they go on sale at Walmart. That being said, they are comfortable and have a decent design.

Not awful
The title pretty much says it all. They're not awful but the quality of the sound is not impressive, the volume is lacking, the fit is not comfortable, the BT connection is marginal, people who you talk to on the phone will have trouble understanding you and the battery life is not impressive. However, for the price point, they still come out a little ahead of their competition primarily because they are small and don't make you look like a nut case with cat food cans over the ears.

Let's start with the physical characteristics. The over the ear hook with ear canal sonic joining is a good idea but the implementation could be better. The ear hooks are connected to the earphones by nothing more than friction. Over time the friction reduces and your are going to have trouble keeping the thing together. This is a known problem with the Yurbuds line. The ear hooks are not comfortable for me. I tend to wear headset/earphones all day long and find these to be somewhat uncomfortable. However, over time you get used to it so persevere and things will get better.

The sonic connection between earphone and ear canal is much better in this model than for most Yurbud related products but somewhat uncomfortable. The dimensions are larger than my ears. Larger ear canals may not be bothered. The sonic isolation is not perfect but outside noises are noticeably diminished. I haven't seen it yet on these ear bugs but on all of the other Yurbuds I've ever acquired the sonic connection device tends to stretch out and can be lost easily. The solution to that is to buy the cheapest Yurbuds you can find on the internet and use those silicone ear canal sonic connectors to replace the lost ones. That may not be possible in this case since the ones that come with the Focus 500 are different from all of the other Yurbuds, but keep the tip in mind for the future.

The mounting of the earphone takes considerable fiddling with to get it exactly right for the little funnel from the earphone to match properly with the ear canal itself. The fiddling consists of a combination of rotation of the ear hook and adjustments to the sonic connection nipple thing, whatever the correct terminology for it is. This match up is critical else the sound quality, which is not great under the best of conditions, will be significantly degraded due to bass roll off. The slightest bit of maladjustment results in a midrange peak reminiscent of 1960's AM radio played through the single 6x9 inch oval speaker in the dashboard. This was a big disappointment for me because as an ex pro musician, JBL is the gold standard when it comes to good sounding speakers. Not this time. The sound quality is unimpressive and the volume is lacking.

The electronics are equally unimpressive. I prefer to keep my phone in my left front pants pocket except when wearing these things. I cannot do that with them because otherwise there is some sort of radio interference as I walk and the sound cuts in and out. This is not an unknown problem with Bluetooth devices but still inexcusable.

Battery life is supposed to be about 8 hours. I've never had that kind of luck. More like 5 or 6.

This is my second pair or yurbuds. Same problem with the two sets. While working out I started hearing static coming from my headphones. The battery was fully charged and on my next work out the headphones began to disconnect from my device. I noticed that the blue light was coming in and out. This occurred several times during my hour workout.
The next day the headphones were completely drained of power. I had only used them for an hour the day before and had turned them off. The battery life is suppose to be 8 hrs. When I went to charge the set they would not take charge as the white light indicator did not turn on.
This is the second pair that this problem has occurred to. I called customer support for the first set and they sent me new ones after a quick email exchange. Disappointed that the same problem occurred with the second set.
I had my first pair for about 6 weeks before the problems began. It was about the same time frame (6weeks before the second pair began to fail.
Warning: these headphones might not be sweatproof. If you are working out with the headphones they will fail if you sweat.
