Powerful Sound
Experience the heart-thumping sensation that only a three-way bass system can deliver with the Focal Aria 936 3-Way Bass-Reflex Floorstanding Speaker. Focal uses cutting-edge technology to deliver improved stability for consistently excellent sound clarity and superior acoustics.
True Deep Bass
For music lovers and movie fans, every seat is a great seat because sound delivery is distortion-free, regardless of where you are in your living space. The Aria 936 floorstanding Speaker is designed to surround the listener in pure, clear sound with a three-way bass reflex system that uses three 6.5-in bass and one 6.5-in midrange speakers for a consistently superior listening experience. With its three woofers, the Aria 936 is naturally intended for listening in stereo for monitoring-type activities.
TNF Tweeter Technology
Great sound can’t happen if it turns fuzzy each time you turn up the volume. That’s why the Aria 936 tower speaker uses Focal’s evolutionary new TNF tweeter with inverted dome for a softer treble, improved stability and flexibility when positioning the speakers in your home. In addition, Poron material suspension provides enhanced memory and reduced distortion in the crucial two–three kHz range where our ears are known to be most sensitive to sound. You’re sure to be impressed with the quality of this innovative speaker.
Superior Sound Projection
Focal has been a leader in developing acoustic equipment for close to 40 years so it's no surprise they’ve transformed the way sound is delivered through their standing speakers using high-quality flax to build a better cone. The Flax cone is made exclusively by Focal in France and consists of flax fiber enclosed between two layers of glass fiber in a sandwich structure. This fiber is super lightweight for ideal internal damping and superior acoustics. Since it's more rigid than the typical fiberglass, cone it offers less distortion for a truer, richer sound.
High Fidelity at Its Best
Your home theater system is about to become the next best thing to an actual movie theater, minus the line-ups. The Focal Aria 936 3-Way Bass Reflex Floorstanding Speaker will fill your living space with pure, true sound regardless of how high you crank the volume. This single floor speaker is ideal for spaces up to 270 sq. ft. and delivers stable, distortion free sound that is so true you’ll think you’re one of the cast.
Beautiful Design
The Aria 936 floor speaker brings super sleek design and a minimal footprint for powerful yet discreet sound delivery. Its smart prime walnut finish is an easy fit with any room décor. The leather-finished front face delivers absorbent and acoustic diffraction qualities while adding to the speaker's sophisticated appearance. Quick and easy set-up makes this serious tower speaker an excellent option for the music lover who plans to take their home audio system to the next level.

Their primary use is for music listening in my bedroom stereo system. As usual, bass extension will depend on the room and positioning. In my case they sound great without a subwoofer and I do not plan to add one. Very moderate room corrections were needed. A bit of mid-bass reduction can be applied to flatten the response.
The TV is also connected to them and I find the performance very adequate for movies given that it is a pure 2-channel output. I wanted to have a relatively compact system and went with a NAD M10 integrated stereo amplifier. It drives the Arias with ease and I am very satisfied with the pairing.
I did a lot of research and listened to quite a few speakers in this price category and above. There are a number of great choices to satisfy individual tastes. For this application, the Aria 936's won with their big, rich, and clear sound. They have character different from my main system and enjoy them even more that way.
Highly recommended!

I reviewed my situation with my advisor at WWS and he didn't hesitate to suggest Focal's 948 Aria. Well, I had enough unpacking and repacking speakers that just didn't make the cut but I was beginning to doubt myself. At 68 I've heard a lot of systems and now it was time for me to really upgrade. Prices were shocking and for mediocre sound, I figured I was loosing it and the stereo world had passed me by.
But I did take one more chance with a pair of Focal's 948's, 936's and the CC 900 matching center speaker.
As they say in management theory, 'ruined by praise but saved by criticism'. It seems that every review says the same thing, that 'these are the newest and you'll love them'. Not so, as I took the time to listen to those recommended, in my home.
Th Focal's did not wow me as I unpacked them and I saw them as dull and utilitarian. But that began to change when I hooked them up."now that's a fine speaker I said to myself and when the 936's arrived, well it was heavenly sound. I also began to see the design elements as eminently thoughtful. For example black glass tops. Very useful for setting things like vases or coffee cups and never a ring mark or stain and so easy to clean. Last forever my friends and if you like neat and tidy, or not, you'll thanks me one day, I promise!
Next are the magnetized speaker covers. It seems this is the trend these days but most have no protection as they are just cloth stretched over a light weight frame. Nothing to protect the speaker but thin material. Focal's, on the other hand, have a cloth over a plastic mesh cover that is built in a fitted box design so it is ridged and sits about an inch off the speakers. It won't stop a fast ball but it will handle most things that happen in your sound room, given you are thinking with your bigger head. Leather wrapped for sound dampening and plinths than raise the speaker off the floor to allow for the bass passage on the bottom.
Are they priced right? Not really! but neither are the completion. However, on sale, these are a best buy. If it wasn't for the explosion of surround sound and an aging population with disposable funds and memories of the sixties to early nineties music, we would still be able to buy a pair of great Warfdales for $500 quid.
