All the features I need, nothing new to see

I ordered the the X6700H to replace my dead X4300H. I decided if I was going to spend money on new receiver I may as well get an 'upgrade'. Other than processing 13 channels, instead of 11, I found almost no difference between this receiver and my 6 year old X4300H. It has 8K HDMI ports, but I don't have any 8K equipment. Overall I was underwhelmed. Given the high price, I really hope this doesn't melt down like my X4300H.

That said, it looks beautiful and does everything it says it can do. I'm running a 7.2.6 system and it sounds just as good as my 7.2.4 system did with the X4300H. But given the high cost and the fact that it is refurb, I knocked 1 star off because I find it to be a poor value.

Although it is a refurb, it looks brand new and came well packaged. The included accessories did come up a bit short. The remote control uses AA batteries, but shipped with AAA batteries. The cable label stickers were missing from the box. Overall these are very minor issues. There was however a data privacy issue, as the previous owners HEOS account was still logged in on the unit.

Sound is amazing.

Excellent reciever, however remote was damaged on arrival and denon customer support is non existant. I have tried to contact them several times only to get automated response. I would love to be able to actually talk or chat with someone. I did get through once, only to be cut off before typing my question. Anything more than a 3 word request will not be tolerated.

GREAT Receiver!!!!

Was VERY happy to upgrade from my old Onkyo TX-NR727 to this bad boy! I got a full def tech surround sound set up, and a 12in Klipsch reference sub, and the power that this Denon puts out is exactly what I was looking for right now. I was able to get Dolby Atmos speakers and now really brought my home theater experience to the next level!! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to upgrade, I mean the price is beefy, but so is the receiver!!! Won't be disappointed!

My AVR-X4300H died. I was SHOCKED by the prices for the X4700H and X4800H, as I paid $750 for my new X4300H in 2017. I went with the X6700H because if I was stuck buying a receiver I didn't want, I may as well upgrade from 11 to 13 channels of processing.

Needed an upgrade and started with this unit. Eventually looking to go into separates but this has the power and set up I am looking for in my home theater with the possibility to expand later down the road

I saw someone else ask about the HDMI 2.1 issues. Does the serial number end in 70001? Those are the units impacted by the HDMI 2.1 but.

Thanks for your inquiry. Denon AV receivers shipped since May, 2021 incorporate updated HDMI chipsets.

Does this unit have the original AK4458 DAC or the replacement one? (Serial number is an indicator)

Thank you for your inquiry. Available on line information states: Per the Denon website (Google translation from Japanese) in Japan in the product information for at least the X4700H and X6700H AVR's: 'The D / A converter IC has been changed since the spring of 2021.' The previous DAC IC in the two products is the 8-channel AK4458. This is a rather significant change. The new DAC IC, brand/model, was not named in the product details.
