Surround Sound Technology

Dolby's new Atmos surround sound technology dispenses with channel-based coding in favor of more advanced object-based coding, giving the sound designer the ability to precisely place sounds anywhere in the 3-dimensional space. Now, you can enjoy this same award-winning technology at home with the AVR-X6300H. Thanks to the receiver's built-in 11 channel amplification, you can connect up to a 7.1 surround sound speaker system and 4 additional overhead speakers, or 4 additional Dolby Atmos elevation speakers for the ultimate home theater experience. Along with Dolby Atmos decoding and Dolby Surround up-mixing, the AVR-X6300H also features Dolby TrueHD lossless decoding and other Dolby Digital technologies.

DTS:X, The latest immersive surround sound system, DTS:X, features object-based audio coding that lets the sound designer place sonic elements anywhere in the 3D acoustic sound space, and provides for overhead speakers to deliver a stunning surround sound experience, and the AVR-X6300H also features DTS-HD Master Audio and other DTS technologies.

By fully immersing the listener in a cocoon of life-like sound, Auro-3D puts you right in the middle of the action. Auro-3D provides an immersive surround sound experience thanks to dedicated height and overhead channels, in addition to the regular channels. The height information, captured in recording or created during the mixing process, is mixed into a standard 5.1 PCM stream that comes with a regular Blu-ray. Moreover, the Auro-3D Engine combines different technologies to guarantee an optimum 3D sound experience generated both natively and from existing audio content. It recognizes mono, stereo, 5.1 surround, or an Auro-encoded signal and transforms them into 3D audio. Once upgraded with the Auro-Codec decoder, the Denon AVR-X6300H is capable of decoding the original Auro-3D mix and playing back an Auro-3D 10.1 channel configuration.

Denon Link HD; AL24 Processing Plus

When connected to a compatible Denon Blu-ray player, the exclusive Denon Link HD system provides a dedicated pathway for the critical timing data to eliminate distortion caused by jitter errors in the main data stream. Denon's exclusive AL24 Processing Plus provides ultra high resolution digital audio filtering and precision tailoring of the main (L/R) audio channels, to deliver shimmering detail in the highs, along with smooth natural midrange, and a broad soundstage with improved imaging.

Along with the discrete monolithic amplifier and solid build quality, the AVR-X6300H is made to realize ideal power amplifier layout and superb audio performance.

Powerful DSP

In order to properly handle the multitude of advanced digital audio decoding and processing functions, the AVR-X6300H features a sophisticated DSP audio processing system that incorporates no less than 4 powerful high speed fourth generation SHARC DSP processors, which together have a combined continuous processing capability of 10 GFLOPS (10 billion floating point numerical computations per second).

It's not enough to say your should be fat 32 there is more to it than that and i would have liked very detailed info to play Flac and help me understand what i needed to do.

I bought the 6300H in December. Replacing my Yamaha dap-z9, which was a beast.
So it had some very big shoes to fit into.
This was difficult and has pretty much offered everything I required in a AV receiver.
My set up is a 7.1.4 Dolby atmos. I have even purchased the aura 3D as well. I using a Sony 4K projector and now have sky Q.
A few issues with UHD compatibility with the sky, as receiver doesn't always pick up the sky as it is out putting 4K resolution.
Otherwise great. Heos is also great and the 2nd zone has been useful.
Highly recommend.
I have already recommended to a couple of friends, whom now also own a similar receiver.

Comprehensive features, powerful for small rooms
The system is nice to setup, and provides a good 7.1.4 system. If you get the Atmos speakers in the right place, it works like a dream, and sounds good. My setup is in a small room and seems sufficiently powerful (up to 60db). Spotify connect is a minor feature, but important.

Fully featured, but underpowered...
If you use Heos and want a one-box 7.2.4 system this is it, but be prepared to be underwhelmed by power output. Something had to give to get 11 channels in one box ..

Solid performer, has ATMOS support
Good performer, ATMOS works well. Was disappointed to have to pay about $150 extra for Aora 3D as soon as I bought it - without being able to try out. Couldn't tell difference really. Don't see big difference overall from my X4000 - even power doesn't seem that much more and I have it up close to full volume. Can't seem to work out how to boost central channel which comes out too quiet after Audessey set up.

Good amp with nice features.
Overall the Denon is okay and it sounds fine. I prefer the sound of my old Yamaha though.

The one problem I have with it though is how hot it is when running (radiator) and the on-screen menu is not intuitive.

What's the difference between the MARANTZ SR7011 and the DENON ARV-X6300h, I no the MARANTZ has 125 watts and DENON has 140 watts? Can the MARANTZ 7011 push enough power for a BOWERS and WILKINS 9.2 CM 9s x4 CM 5sx4 and the matching center channel? Thank You For Your Reply
Bama B on Nov 5, 2017
Thank you for your inquiry! Since receivers count their power with only 2 channels driven, you can reasonably expect only about 30W per channel from either in a 9.2 configuration. Even with the extra power on the Denon, thats only 15W getting divided 9 ways, which isn't a huge bump. Both receivers will be able to push that system without too much issue, but you will definitely be limited by power. Marantz is the higher quality version of Denon (same owner and manufacturer), much like Lexus with Toyota.I would say that performance of the two units will be about equal, with a slight edge in build quality and sound quality going to the Marantz.

However, with anything Bowers, I recommend trying to get closer to 100W or more per channel to really get them playing at their best. To do that, you'll need a separate amplifier and AV processor. That gets pricey, however. There aren't many receivers that can give that kind of power except for brands like Integra. I recommend looking for a local Integra dealer (it cannot be sold online) to see what they suggest.
