Definitive Technology Mythos Seven Center Speaker Features:

Superior Performance Components

  • Each Mythos Seven contains a D'Appolito array consisting of two high-definition 3-1/2 inch drivers housed in a air-tight enclosure. The drivers feature die cast Aluminum baskets, mono-polymer cones and Finite Element Analysis optimized magnet structures for clear low distortion life-like sound. The drivers are pressure-coupled to two 3-1/2 inch planar Low-Bass Radiators for exceptional bass extension not normally found in slim on-wall loudspeakers of this size. The bass roll-off of the Mythos Seven is smooth and controlled, allowing it to seamlessly blend with a powered subwoofer, such as Definitive's SuperCubes, for audiophile-grade home theater power and precision. A 1 inch Pure Aluminum dome tweeter produces extended highs that reveal nuance and shimmer without a trace of edginess.

Rock-Solid Enclosure

  • Mythos Series enclosures are hand-polished gloss Black aircraft-grade extruded aluminum with proprietary damping technologies that ensure total rigidity. All components are mounted on a resonance-free PolyStone baffle. These rock-solid construction technologies along with state-of-the-art drivers and tweeter serve to deliver classic Definitive Technology sound quality: wide soundstage, pinpoint imaging, high dynamic impact, and superb realism.

  • The Mythos Seven comes with a wall mount bracket that allows direct mounting to a wall and also adapts to flat panel TV swing out arm-style wall mounts so that the speaker angle changes with the TV angle. An adjustable rubber-tipped foot on the supplied table-top mounting hardware permits vertical plane angle adjustment to point the speaker at the ideal angle.

This is a great center! A lot of bang for the buck with this thing. I use it for watching uncompressed audio from my Marantz Receiver and the voices are so life like I can't believe it is such a bargain!

Equal parts looks and performance
I have this speaker currently in my bedroom coupled to an Onkyo TXNR609 receiver, Mythos 4's as my mains. As is the case within the Mythos line, the aluminum cabinet is extremely solid, and before even listening to these stellar speakers, you will be impressed with their build quality, and the physical beauty of this center. Dialogue comes through clear and with authority, even at moderate listening levels (typical for me, apartment living.) There is just a certain "presence" that Definitive speakers project, and the mythos line is able to carry this torch, regardless of being relatively slim, in contrast to Definitive's larger center channel offerings. The Lord of the Rings films are very center heavy, and the Mythos 7 is able to deliver every thump and thud, or subtle breathy note, with equal ease, allowing me to truly get lost in the film. There are 3 diminutive threaded feet beneath the 7, allowing you to angle the speaker up, or down, to adjust for varying installations. The speaker terminals are solid and easily accept banana style plugs, my preference. If you're looking for a sleek, modern industrial looking center that performs effortlessly and without any discernable distortion, you should give this Mythos a listen.

These blow away any other center. I like them more than the 1000 pro centers. Those I needed to stand in front. These are more rich from anywhere in the room, due to their small bass radiators that aren't overwhelming.

The highs and midranges are sweet! I use 7002 Towers, the older version of say the 8080's.
