Customer Reviews for Definitive Technology Demand Series D11 High-Performance Bookshelf Speakers - Pair (Black)
As for these D11's, unlike the pictures, i started with them in my bedroom, running an Onkyo RZ810 on pure stereo, Bi amped, no subwoofer-table top set up. Listening to some Phil collins just running through my receiver via wifi, I was immediately pulled in-these Demand series are so engaging, they play so musically and clean, with effortless detail, clarity, and warmth. i have toggled over the last 2 weeks or so with all manner of music, other than punk rock or the like, and it all sounds soooo good-classic Definitive where the instruments sound like the instruments. I look so forward to the end of my workday, when I can kick back and listen to music through these utterly beautiful modern looking bookshelves. The fact that these speakers can play so well before being remotely broken in must be a testament to the incredible engineering and thought that this company puts into their product. Today i moved these speakers to my computer table (Mythos back on track in the bedroom. I'm running them now with a Rotel receiver, with a built in cd player and they again sound so good. I think it's so important to consider the room and distance etc before making full judgements on a speakers character. I'm not an engineer, but I would imagine that these speakers are so pure and frequency flat, that you really want to pay attention to placement and room modes. I recently was in a listening room where i could listen to higher priced offerings compared to these speakers. although one or 2 other brands sounded good, I was just blown away at how much better these sounded, in one case at half the price. i just can't say enough good things about these D11's, if you are in the market, I would urge anyone to run and give these a critical listen, I believe you will love them as I do.
So thank you DefTech, you never disappoint, and in the case of the Demand series, you truly exceeded what I thought was possible at this price point.
