Rethink portable audio with the Bose SoundWear Companion Speaker. This lightweight wearable speaker rests gently around your neck and delivers the big sound that made Bose famous: soaring highs, lush mids, and deep bass. The SoundWear features built-in Bluetooth so you can connect to your smartphone or tablet and enjoy your favorite tunes from Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Google Play, and more. The Bose SoundWear also features a built-in microphone that lets you take calls and control the voice controls on your smartphone.
Sure, you want music with you at all times. But you don’t always want to slap on headphones and shut out everything else around you. You don’t have to. The new SoundWear Companion speaker was designed for you. This wearable speaker offers the best of both worlds—convenience and connection—in a way that allows you to be present with your music as well as your surroundings. It rests comfortably on your shoulders, with sound that is full and clear to you—yet minimizes the sound for others. And with legendary waveguide technology at its core, that performance is easy to trust.
Great Battery Life
Plays up to 12 hours. A quick 15-minute charge gives you up to 3 hours.
Sweat and Weather Resistant
Don’t worry about a little rain or a lot of sun. This wearable can take it.
Vibrations for Incoming Calls
Haptic alerts are a discreet way to notify you of incoming calls.
Wireless Bluetooth pairing made easier with voice prompts.
Wearable Tech - With a Familiar Twist
With some wearables, it’s fashion before function. Not in this case. Every part of this speaker is meticulously engineered for better sound. But even a groundbreaking product can benefit from a proven technology—like Bose's waveguide technology. So they used two 11" waveguides to pump out what other wearable speakers don’t—deep, rich sound.
Surrounded in Sound; Aware of Your Surroundings
Put it on. Walk around. Take a call or ask Siri a question. This speaker gives you freedom from your devices and keeps you closer to your surroundings at the same time.
A Long History of Innovation
It’s interesting, when you look back on it. Stereo speakers that reproduced more sound from the back of the speaker than the front.
Compact, single-speaker stereo systems that replaced stacks of equipment.
Noise cancelling headphones that changed just about everything.
These are just a few of the breakthroughs Bose introduced in their long history of innovation. Until you tried one of these, you likely couldn’t know how much of a difference it would make.
Swappable, Stretchable, Durable
The speaker isn’t the only thing Bose obsessed over. The custom designed covers are acoustically transparent, so nothing gets in the way of the sound. Static free so your hair and clothing don’t cling to it. And four-way stretchable so it fits the speaker snugly. Your speaker includes a Black cover.
Bose Connect App
Control your SoundWear speaker’s Bluetooth connections and manage bass adjustments easily through the Bose Connect app. The app also provides product tips and lets you personalize your settings, so you can make them
Wearable Ear-Free Speaker
12 hours of music playback (15-min charge delivers up to 3 hours of playback)
Sweat and weather resistant
Built-in microphone for hands free calls and smartphone voice control
Once again Bose goes above and beyond the competition with ease. Only my wife stunts my purchase growth of Bose products as she says I don't need whatever it is I'm trying to buy, but she surprised me with this one as she knows I really wanted it so thankful for this awesome self centered listening experience while walking about in public or indoors. My music doesn't disturb the public and the public doesn't disturb my music.
I auditioned Bose Soundwear Companion at a store display a few months ago and I was intrigued by it, but hadn't made the commitment to purchase. This is a product that must be used to see the great benefits of daily use. I can now have music in many places where I couldn't and having a headphone would block noise in areas that I would benefit from being aware of my environment. Instead of tuning out, I can tune in. The soundwear is a portable stereo system that doesn't require any special effort to use and its a product I want to use as often as possible. The sound quality is fantastic for a wearable product and I can listen at lower volumes. The telephone audio is clear making the soundwear one of the absolute best products for bluetooth cell phone communications. Having it the product and using it, now I wonder why I didn't get it upon the first tryout.
As a music lover and an active person that works in a warehouse, this is easily the best purchase I have ever made. Never have I been able to listen to my music at work like I can with the soundwear. The only drawback I have was taking the cover off. I ended up tearing the silicone on accident while taking it off to wash.
I originally saw these on a YouTube review and immediately went to a few websites to see who had the best deal for these speakers, because who are we kidding 3oo for speakers is a lot. I was so surprised to receive my purchase from Bose much faster than they estimated like 4 days sooner. Over the next two days while I sat and waited I reviewed more ratings and found myself getting more nervous about my purchase thinking I made a mistake. What if they are too loud for my office cubicle job, or during conference room meetings. Plus for 3oo I was looking for any reason or flaw to return them. Once they arrived I scrambled to open the box and connected them to the first bluetooth device in my home I could find. Luckily I happen to have 2 friends over at the same time they arrived. So I was able to get their first impressions too. Let me just start by saying, these are the most fun to wear, to let people try on and see their first time reactions. This device was so amazing my first words I said to my friends was "oh no, I'm not getting my 3oo back, I need these in my life". The next day at work I wore them during my whole 10 hour day and playing music for probably 5 hours straight and by end of day only reached 60%. I had almost 20-30 people in my department try them on and 1 of which went online and purchased her own instantly. I can honestly say I have no clue what the heck these 1 star reviews are about on Amazon. It totally plays quiet enough that people standing right next to you can't hear. Obviously that means your not going to have the volume full blast but that's common sense. Anyways I'm on day 4 of my purchase now and have not regretted for one moment. Oh and for what it's worth I use a Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy TabA, all of which have synced perfectly.
I recently bought a new Galaxy note 9 and the problem I'm having is that soundwear will not control phones media or music at times unless I start media with device first. I've exchanged my speaker and phone thinking they were defected yet problem still occurs. Explain please.
Cycling can be a little boring since the law does not allow you to put anything in your ears and playing music through your phone isn't the best quality and can drain your battery. Now, I am able to listen to quality stereo sound while cycling to music that motivates me. I can also answer calls with crystal clear quality. But the best part is that I am aware of my surroundings without breaking the law or putting my safety at risk. I also enjoy longer rides since the battery lasts up to 12 hours. With my new speaker, I am ready and looking forward to my 7 day AIDS Cycle from San Francisco to Los Angeles in June, 2019 . My only dislike is that I wish it had a strap in case I fall off my bike. :)
I bought this for my father because he is hard of hearing. I was hoping we could watch movies together and he would not have to wear headphones. Unfortunately they would not connect to my amplifier even though it has Bluetooth. They connected to my tablet immediately and were great for using with the tablet. Unfortunately that's not how I wanted to use them and returned them.
As a collector of many gadgets and toys, they all fit a purpose somewhat from the Homepod, the wireless gaming headphones and to the QC35 to name a few. This SoundWear is absolutely awesome.
I have it connected to my MacBook and iPad Pro for YouTube, Netflix and other streamed media. I have it also connected to each of the gaming consoles PS4 Pro, Xbox One and the Switch for great audio playback.
The utility is awesome though may take awhile to get used to in finding that sweet spot on your shoulders. It's not too bad for yoga too!
I have had this a couple of weeks now and wanted to make sure I gave it a good workout before evaluating it. I am blown away! My biggest problem with external speakers and bluetooth headsets is keeping them charged.....NO ISSUE HERE! The Soundwear Companion give me 2+ days of use on a single charge! The app on my phone tells me what % charge I have so there is never a question about whether I have enough juice to take my next call. This is very helpful to me in that I dont need to take charging 'stuff' when I go on short trips. I throw the SoundWear in my pack and go. I am good for all my conference calls and listening to music for the next couple of days. On my global team calls there are no issues with my sound quality and I get great sound on my end. My only regret is that I didn't find this device sooner, thanks BOSE!!
..I would purchase instantly if there was 2 3.5mm audio jacks for input and output. Input on the underside of one of the pods with a space for a small mp3 player to sit, and output on the inside face of one of the pods for headphones to connect to should a private call strike your fancy. I dont always want to have my headphones connected straight to my handset, this device could have been a great option.
well what can i say about the bose soundwear i purchased this bose product and when i first heard the sound it was abosolutely stunning,as all of my bose products are highly recomended10/10(just buythese)
I am a frequent traveler (4/5 days a week) and most of my time on phone or listening music in the planes of in airport terminals, I love everything about it but there's no privacy for calls and music. I will there will be ear pods with it so I would not bother people around me in the plane or anywhere in public places. Thos is good for home or in the car but not to carry with me. I may give it to my girlfriend.
Where I work, we are aloud to wear headphones and ear pods but we still have to be able to hear the overhead intercom system. So we either listen to music really low or leave one ear open with no music. ***OR*** we can buy The Bose Soundwear Companion Speaker and have the best of both worlds. We can hear our music and still be able to hear what is going on around us. And when someone walks up to us and starts talking, we don’t have to remove a ear pod and say what? Which really drives me crazy! When someone is listening to ear pods or headphones I always have to repeat myself because they didn’t hear me the firs time. Buying the Bose Soundwear Companion Speaker gets rid of that annoyance forever, because the person listening to music can still hear you talking to them. The only thing I would change is to make them overall thinner. Everyone keeps asking me if I’m wearing a neck warmer. They need to be thinner. Overall I’m very happy with this purchase!
This is great because I have small ears and none of the inner earbuds fit in my ear. to wear the product around my neck all day took some getting used to but it works ok. someone who has neck issues will have an issue with it. the sound is great but sometimes the connection gets fuzzy and I have to turn it off and back on.
I have owned the SoundWear for about a year and when I bought it I thought it was a novelty...another cool addition to my audio devices collection. I was so wrong. This product has MANY applications where it is the BEST choice for sound (MUSIC + PHONE): I wear it while walking 50+ miles a week; sitting at my desk working; doing work around the house, etc. Having great private sound without be closed off (traditional earphones) is sometimes the perfect solution. This product has become a MUST-HAVE in my audio world.
Found this product online. After the usual product reviews I decided to buy a pair. Its so nice to have great sound without your ears blocked. Its also nice in summer to have nothing on your head. Its also great to take a phone call and have hands free.
I purchased this unit in February 2019. Audio performance is great for music and telephone conversations. The Bluetooth chip for music locks on and has a stable connection. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the Bluetooth chip for the telephone. After using the SoundWear Companion for a brief 1 min 30 seconds, this Bose product looses pairing with your telephone. The phone then searches for the closest Bluetooth device which happened to be my car. I would select the SoundWear Companion on my phone, then 2 minutes later it would be dropped again. This became very frustrating during a telephone call. Bose handled it very professionally and provided me an exchange for the identical unit. The replacement delivered the same results. I have now returned the product in exchange for a different Bose product.
I've owned this for a while now and am really pleased. Great sound quality and clarity with great bass, and I like my bass. While wearing the device, it sounds like surround sound. In fact it has the capacity to get so loud I feel like I could bother people around me, but it doesn't! This is great, when you aren't wearing them you don't really hear the sound, so it is very localized. As to fit, I wouldn't go on an intense run, but for general to moderate activity they stay securely snug (I am 5'11" and 150lb). Also the material is very comfortable and doesn't get annoying even after wearing for a long time.
I bought this yesterday and I am keeping it. I got a factory refurb and I saved $100? I am very happy with the same quality as the new one. Quality of sound is impeccable. I love the crisp sound and the detail to every NOTE? I love music and I love BOSE. Bar none, The BEST YET :)
This speaker is amazing for around the house or if allowed for blue collar workers. The sound is amazing I mean it is fantastic. Not to mention if your blasting Por Tu Maldito Amor the people next to you can nearly hear it.
Love them but was limited to certain activities. Looked for some type of device to secure for snowboarding. Couldn't find. Get a thin long tube sock, insert and simply tie two end around your neck. Can work all features, buttons and stays secure. Bose, maybe make a cover that does this?... but sock works great too
1. Superb sound. 2. Superb sound while being aware of your surroundings. Many times over the ear headphones (or other style head phones/ear buds) are too isolating; you are unaware of things happening around you. 3. Use while: Doing the dishes, doing laundry, picking up the house, studying, doing yard work, preparing dinner, balancing checkbook, doing investments, etc. etc. and yet hearing the door bell, hearing your spouse/kids, hearing the microwave/oven/clothes washer/clothes dryer timer, etc. etc. 4. The only negative is it is difficult to put on a new cover. If possible, just leave the original one on!
I thought this would be a great addition to my head sets but different from the rest. It fits well and the sound is great plus it links with my old Ipod Nano. I makes hands free listining simple and easy. I just started using it doing household chores, which seems to help me get through the chores and have some fun at the same time.
I bought these because I don't like being cut-off from my surroundings when I'm out walking. But, I want music to make the exercise bearable. I love them. Perfect for that situation. Lightweight, so long walks, I don't feel weighed down. I am also in the house and listening to music on the Alexa devices in the home and someone ALWAYS rudely comes in to change the music or turn it off (they think it's hilarious). Now, I listen to what I want in any room with anyone, no problems. The test: I took these to dinner at my family home and put them around my dad's neck. There were 6 kids and 7 adults in the room. I turned on the music and he asked where it was coming from. The person in front of him heard the music, too. Turned down the volume and dad could still comfortably enjoy tunes and the person right in form of him could not hear it. Dad loved them so much, we got him a pair that day. I use mine on walks, he never takes his off....so I guess he's getting a full days charge. Also, taking calls is easy as no one has complained of excess outside noises while I'm on a call.
Last year I saw this on the Bose website, I was really curious if it was that great or if headsets would be better. I love headsets but I don't like wearing them for hours, and they block out a lot of outside voices so I'm always taking them in and out. When I saw this and read about it on the website, I was tempted, but not enough to make a purchase.
Next month, I was at a retail store on vacation and they had a demo of the SoundWear and I put it on and I was amazed how comfortable it was. I then did the demo music and voice and was very impressed with the audio clarity and quality. I didn't want to make an impulse decision so I put the demo back and continued shopping. I told my family about it and took two of them back there, they were both so impressed, and I was even more impressed the second time! I made the decision to purchase it!
Working in my office where I have to take calls all of the time, this is fantastic!! It is so comfortable and you can do your normal daily activities and not even think about it being on. The build quality is fantastic and it has a satisfying solid feel (not cheap plastic) in the true Bose standard.
My only complaints are small, but to be fair here is what I would like to see changed:
1. Use USB-C (and just include the an adapter for USB 3.0) 2. Don't make me have to unzip the cover every time I need to recharge, better yet would be to have the option for both USB and Inductive charging. 3. More covers with different colors.
I know this is hard to "demo" from a website, but if you are looking at it and don't have the ability to get an in-person demo, I wouldn't worry, you'll be happy you got it!
My daughter always took my Bose bluetooth speaker from me while home from college. This Christmas season I decided to purchase another bluetooth speaker to have a backup when she came home. Long story short... I found the SoundWear speaker. Once my SoundWear arrived, and I showed it to my daughter. She quickly informed me that she didn't like, and thought I should not have purchased it. That's all I needed to hear from her to know that it was the ideal purchase for my needs. The sound quality, wearability, and bluetooth range is exactly what I was looking for.
I was given the SoundWear Companion speaker by my wife for Christmas. A couple of years ago she bought me a set of Bose over the ear headphones to use at work. I perform building inspections for a living and the over the ear headphones blocked my hearing so they would not work on the job site. The new SoundWear speaker has solved that issue and I now wear the unit constantly at work. It is nice to be able to listen to my music and answer the phone without having to pull the phone out of my pocket. Great product!
great device for parents to have; so they can keep up with house work while still being able to keep an "ear"out on the kids . No more of that yelling over bluetooth speaker cleaning playlist or shifting your headphones so you can hear about who's annoying who.
I have only recently (1 month now) bought the Soundwear unit. While it is somewhat louder to those around me than I had hoped (Or I am more deaf than I thought), it is still better than headphones and earbuds as far as I am concerned. Listening for an extended time period is easy and after a while you forget the unit is on your shoulders. When I am somewhat active I put it under my shirt so I have no issue with them falling off. The bonus of using it with my phone makes it even better than what I was expecting. I bought my first Bose 901 Speakers in the late 1970's. After 25 years they had to be replaced (by Bose for less than half price). I have 301's, the outdoor speakers, the wave radio and the noise canceling headphones. All continue to work as well as the day they were bought. The quality control for Bose is excellent. I expect nothing less over the next 20 years from this Soundwear unit.
Yes are novel and unique, very comfortable, to wear and a different listening experience, but they are not as good as they sound in the shop. Even on low volumes everyone can hear them, so, when taking personal or sensitive calls, you need to be wary of this. I bought them directly from the BOSE store, stating also I wanted them for the plane, but I doubt very much I could wear them without disturbing those near me, and besides, I don't think I could use on a plane when device is in airplane mode (not tried this yet). They really could do with a set of companion buds and a headphone jack, so that I could plug in direct if the battery dies, or if on a plane. Perfect if you are in the house or office alone, but annoying for anyone around you. When testing them in the store I guess the ambient noise in the shop made them seem that only the wearer could hear them (until the volume got loud of course). Also, the sound is not what I would expect of something priced this much and the accompanying app only allows you to adjust the base. On the plus side, it means I can listen to music while also being able to take in the surrounding environment, so great for walking round town, but always conscious of the fact its like having a boom box on you. Must say, they are comfortable, and you forget at times you are wearing them.
I brought this a few days ago. I use my apple airpods, which work great at the gym, but at work (i own my own business) i hate using my airpods especially because i don't want my staff to think i am listening to music, or not working, when i listen to good informative business podcasts. This allows me to work, listen to business podcast and if i need to pickup the phone or take call, not having to unplug my airpods, i can walk around the office without having to have my airpods on, and actually you can listen to music or podcast and most people won't hear what is coming out the soundwear unless they are within 24 inches of you. great product!
I have been using my sons soundware for a couple of months waiting for them to go on sale. They did I’ve BlackFriday so I bought mine. I use them every day. I use the to listen to music and talk on the phone the noise cancelation on the works well the person on the other end rarely hears background noise including when I am walking in the wind. Glad I bought my own also even happier they were on sale so I could buy them.
I’ve had these about 3 weeks. I bought 2, 1 for my wife & 1 for myself. She used an hour & replaced with earbuds. I however like them very much except battery only lasted a little over 3 hours. I do have volume about 2/3 since we work in a noisy environment. She said too much outside noise got in where it’s a higher frequency sound on her side of plant & mine is more lower frequency & doesn’t effect sound. I sold hers next day for my sale price so I’m still very happy buying both & have recommended to others letting themm hear the sound quality.
Just brought this for my Husband for Christmas... Was so excited .. Opened it up Quick Set up Guide easy Peasy right? Nope.. Power button wouldn’t turn on... Ok probably just a dead Battery..Plug in the USB for 3 Hours as per Instructions... While charging Only 3 of the supposed 5 lights were present and lit up... Unplug the USB.. All lights out... Try to Power On... NOTHING.. No lights.. Nothing... I am Beyond Disappointed... and Upset Talk about putting a damper on Christmas . Did not expect this from Bose as we absolutely Love their products.... So much for Quality Control.. We will see how Customer Service handles this...
Does exactly what it should I invented and made a prototype of this same product that I took to Mexico, but I never patented it. You can listen without bothering others, and it allows for safety that ear buds don't allow..... Mine plugged into an IPOD...no bluetooth at the time...I wonder who saw my product on beaches of mexico? Oh well
I bought this a month ago it definitely beats having something in your ear at work for 8 hrs, however the battery only last for 5 hrs I have to charge it at my 15 minute break and lunch in order to have continuous listening for my 8 he work day.
I bought my soundwear neck speaker after reading the great reviews. I first used them with my iPhone and they worked great. Worth a five star. However I bought them so my wife and I could watch TV with our own volume control. I have hearing difficulties. To listen to the TV audio, you have to have a Bluetooth transmitter connected to the TV audio. Simple inexpensive device. I got everything hooked up and paired but the volume controls wouldn't work. After talking to Bose techs and visiting our Bose Factory Outlet store, they convinced me you can't get volume control on the headset when paired to a Bluetooth transmitter -- the reason I bought a headset for my wife and one for me. This a design flaw that is only important if you want to use the headset for TV audio.

My husband is an audiophile, techie and Bose aficionado. Purchasing this as a birthday present and hoping it works for him. He usually wears headphones to listen to lectures and this may provide him more flexibility and comfort.
